Story
Weve been keeping a little secret Say hello to Ellen (Mama), Clark(cream/apticot), Audrey (black) and Russell (black and white short hair) So whats the story? Early December this little family came to us from a very small and underfunded shelter. Mama was a stray that was in fight or flight mode and she chose fight. The shelter workers were unable to even touch her she was so protective of herself. We agreed to take her and try to work with her in hopes she would come around with time. But wouldnt you know it she gave birth to a litter of puppies while the shelter and I were coordinating a day we could get her So, the whole family came to live in my home. Mama was very scared, shy, and protective at first. Quickly we realized that she is a huge fan of food though, and we were able to win her over quickly with treats, patience, and love. For the next couple of months our little family and this little dog family have had a blast together. Ellen, aka Mama, is an amazing dog and the pups have followed suit. These four are all officially available for adoption! We have absolutely no clue what mama is a mix of and no clue as to what the father(s) of the puppies was. All four are spayed/neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, dewormed and started on flea/tick/heartworm preventative. Ellen is crate trained, potty trained, highly food motivated and has very good house manners. She is estimated by our vet to be around 5 years old. Pups are all learning crate training, they enjoy their crates and will even choose to sleep in them when they want to catch a snooze. They all go right in their crates at bed time or if we are leaving the house. They are quiet and settle right in quickly and easily, and all are used to being crated individually so going to their new home shouldnt be too much of an adjustment as far as the crating. We do still have some potty accidents in crates but they are still babies and we do not have any sort of consistent schedule here to be able to keep them on a good routine. The pups do go outside for lots of potty breaks with our dogs and are used to the idea of going outside and coming back inside and are learning that the bells hanging on the door ate associated with going outside so potty training should be easy. They do use potty pads pretty well inside also when we dont catch that they need to potty in time to get them outside. Pups were born December 2nd, 2024 Mama and pups are all used to other dogs, both big and small, as well as cats. All are wonderful with my 9 year old son. They have all been around my 5 year old nephew, and 1 year old niece as well. Mama was a little nervous but minds well and got used to them quickly. Pups of course are just pups and can be a little overwhelming with jumping and play biting but these are trainable things that we have been working on with them. Mama does very well for grooming and pups have been getting used to the grooming process as well and getting comfortable with it. If you think you may be interested in adopting, one of these little cuties please visit our website and fill out an adoption application. http://www.underdogsalvation.com/ The puppies each have an adoption fee of $500 and mama $300 All four of these dogs are extremely spoiled here and we want to find them the very best homes where they will continue to be spoiled! They deserve it! Story
Birdie is an extremely loving silly girl. She is super playful and adores her people. So far she has gotten along well with dogs she has met and she can coexist with cats but sometimes gets overly curious and intrusive. Birdie came to us as a stray that was never claimed so we do not know her history. Unfortunately we have not had anyone step up to foster Ms. Birdie so we have not had the opportunity to see how she does in the home but she does well with not using the bathroom in her kennel if she is on a routine schedule. She loves toys but she needs durable things to play with as she is a chewer! She really enjoys antlers and nylabone type toys for getting her chewing on. I do not think she would be a destructive house dog as long as she has plenty of toys. We hope to get Birdie into a foster home soon so that we can learn even more what the perfect home for her looks like. If interested please visit www.underdogsalvation.com to fill out an adoption application. Adoptions fees vary, Birdie's is $250. This amount unfortunately does not even cover the costs of her basic care so please do not ask if we will "take less". We are not a funded facility and rely on donations and adoption fees to be able to continue helping stray and abandoned animals.   Please visit our website www.underdogsalvation.com to learn more about this amazing pet and to see other available dogs and cats.
