Story
You may recognize this good girl. Diamond is back with us at MHS now and she is hoping to find a family who is a perfect fit for her. Yes, she was returned to us, but that is not necessarily all bad! We now know new information that will help us set her up for success in her next home! Diamond is the perfect companion. She is loyal, loving, affectionate, and is very tuned-in when she is with you. She's an easy-going, lazy, couch potato and is content with a life of leisure! Don't get us wrong, Diamond loves daily walkies, but for the most part she is quite chill. Diamond's ideal home would be one with a quiet environment. We are basically calling all introverts! Lots of visitors and running around and commotion is not her pace and we totally understand that! So, if you are someone who has a low-key lifestyle and likes to snuggle close to their dog, you may want to come and meet Diamond. She asks for a slow introduction to new people but once she feels safe with you, she is all in. The way that she trusts our staff and volunteers is incredible. She just needs time to learn that new people are just new friends. After she is over that hump, she likes to sit right next to you and ask for belly rubs once she knows you. She's done best interacting with equally playful and friendly male dogs. Diamond is so people-oriented that she'd also be content to have it be just her. She does ask for no kitty friends. Since a quiet home setting would be best for Diamond, we think teenagers and older is a great option! Diamond is about six and a half years old and is spayed. We hope you see all the love Diamond has to offer. Please come meet her!

Story
Calling all Boxer dog fans! One of our amazing volunteers was curious about Nala's breeds, so she ordered a DNA test...we now know that Nala is: 53.4% Boxer + 27.2% American Bully + 19.4% American Pit Bull Terrier! Talk about three amazing breeds combined to make one 100% good girl! And, oh yeah! Her adoption fee is sponsored to an approved applicant! She is always so wiggly. You would've never guessed she came to us starving and scared. Let's not forget that she has the BEST smile and she is always cheesing so hard that she squints! She is so very sweet and is always so excited to come out and play! We like to describe Nala as an independent gal but also very loyal to people. She would do fine as the only dog but also has done well with other playful pups. Nala has done well with kiddos about 8ish and up. She loves car rides and is always looking out the window. She's such a sweetheart. Nala's ideal family would be one where she can join them for daily walks. She would also love to play fetch with tennis balls because that makes her so happy! She is the best fetcher ever! She also loves sniffing through snufflemats. Nala is a treat-motivated gal! Oh, and another amazing thing about her is that she takes treats so gently. She is about six and a half years old and is spayed.

Story
This big-eared, water-loving scruffy cutie pie is Woofie Goldberg, otherwise known as Woofie! We're not sure of her breed, but she is one smart cookie and loves to learn! Woofie weighs around 50 pounds. She is about two years old and is spayed. She's been a great playgroup dog with other friendly shelter pups! Woofie loves to run and zoom so her ideal dog fursibling would also be energetic. She's not too sure about meeting new people, so please allow her to adjust at her own pace when you come to meet her. We've seen her go from being unsure of people to being over-the-moon when she gets to hang out with them. It just takes time! A slow introduction is the best way to set her up for success. We think she'd thrive in a home that had another friendly dog to help boost her confidence. Kiddos should be older about 10ish and up. She's done great with shelter kitties! Once she knows someone, she is interactive and eager for affection. Squeaky toys make her ears stand straight up and we cannot get enough of them! They're just the best! Walkies seem to make her so happy. She prances around and loves to give her nose some sniffing exercise. She's just so awesome. Come meet her!

Story
If there was ever a shelter dog to melt our hearts; it's Darla. She has the most amazing manners, loves interacting with everyone she meets, and has the most happy-go-lucky personality She knows how to sit, stay, lay down, and come. She is 48-pounds of petite sweetness. Darla loves tennis balls. She will play fetch as long as you are willing to throw the ball. She is so fast! She is a very treat-motivated darling. Her only request, aside from loving her as much as she will love you, is if she could be the only furbaby in her new home At around eight years young, we think she'd be most content being the center of your world. Darla has the most soulful eyes, the prettiest face, and gives the gentlest kisses. She is spayed so please come show her how good life can be in a home

Story
If your children need a best friend, Winnie has LOVED her time around kiddos. When she is meeting new people, it may take her a minute or two to get used to adults but she has gone right over to the kiddos to say. It is so super sweet. When we have had her as our office dog, she is the perfect girl. She will stop by each desk, asking for affection and attention, and maybe a treat or two, then she'll head back to her bed to chew on a bone and will quiet down so we can work. When we are on breaktime, well, so is Winnie! She knows it is the perfect time to place a squeaky toy on our lap and ask us to toss it so she can start a fetch game. Winnie loves playing fetch with tennis balls, too! The home she used to live in was overall a quieter home, and we think she'd be most comfortable in a similar-paced home. She is playful outside but then calms down and wants to be near you. At first when meeting new people, she asks for a little bit of time. But if you have a tennis ball or a treat to offer her, she warms up and learns she can trust you. We have loved seeing her develop trust with our staff and volunteers. She is so snuggly and affectionate. Winnie is totally in-tune and has awesome eye contact when you are talking to her. "Aloof" is definitely NOT a word to describe Winnie! Once she trusts you, she is the most loyal, well-mannered sweetheart. The more we learn about her, the sillier she becomes! She loves to play with tug ropes but is gentle and loves to share them. She is a joy to be around. She also knows how to sit, shake paws, and lay down. We think she may do well with friendly male dogs as she used to live with one but it will depend on the resident dog. She has had very positive reactions to cats at the shelter. She is a little younger than two-and-a-half-years-old and is spayed.

Story
"Adoptable Flower's typical day is eating breakfast before I go to work, going out for a short walk/potty-break, then I assume she sleeps in my bed while I am gone! When I get home from work, she is waiting for me at the front door wiggling her little body all over the place. She usually has her squeaky pig in her mouth. We go out for a walk around the yard, then it's time for dinner. She goes out a couple more times before bedtime. I think she would absolutely love to be adopted by a family with a fenced-in yard so she can run around whenever she wants and however fast she wants...unless she is adopted by someone who likes to go for walks and maybe run a little bit, lol. She really is a sweet girl. She likes to be with people. Wants to sit on your lap, but also will just chill on the floor with her toys, too. She definitely likes toys. She is great with my grandkids (about four years and older). She waits for you to tell her it's okay to eat, plus she eats any pills without spitting them out." -Flower's foster mom. Flower welcomes visitors with open paws and has absolutely wonderful manners. She is long overdue and is very deserving of a family to call her own. She asks to be the only furbaby and is waiting patiently to be chosen. She is about five years old and is spayed.
