Story

Jerry is 9 years old. He was rescued from Alsip rescue center in St. John Indiana in 2015. He loves walks and cuddling. He was an only child for the first 6 years of his life. He is allergic to something in our house. We’ve spent thousands of dollars on house modifications and been to many vets to find the cause. They diagnosed him with chronic bronchitis. However, he doesn’t cough when he is not in our house. We have a one year supply of his medication given by a local vet. This is a reason we want a better home for him. He loves running in the yard and just simply being with another human. We are looking for someone who has adequate time for him so he can get a lot of attention and exercise. We’re looking for someone who loves dogs and is compassionate and loving.

BARLEY NEW YEAR NEW FRIEND ADOPTION SPECIAL $50 Barley is a 7.5-year-old, 60 pound, spayed female Mountain Cur mix that came to shelter as a stray. Her right ear is permanently folded down, due to an old hematoma. But, it doesn’t seem to bother her at all. She is a friendly and playful girl, who likes squeaky, plush toys and LOVES a good scratch, especially on the base of her tail. According to her finder, Barley didn’t appear to like other animals, but was comfortable and friendly around young children. Barley is UTD on all her shots & completely vetted. Barley has some separation anxiety, which foster has worked with her on. She is doing amazing. Would love to get her into a foster to adopt home, with someone who is home with her.
