Story
Penny is an incredibly sweet, food-motivated dog who will learn anything in exchange for a couple of treats. She is crate trained, potty trained, and loves to play with humans and love on anyone who will offer a scratch and a kiss. Penny would prefer a home where she can be the apple of her human's eye. She is deaf, but that does not that slow her down, and she knows multiple hand signals. She loves to go for hikes and to meet new people. Do you have room in your home and heart for this amazing dog? Penny is spayed, microchipped, vaccinated, and heartworm negative.

Story
Ace came to Speedway Street Department as a stray. After tracking down his owner via his microchip, we learned that Ace has been rehomed 3 times in his short 1.5 years. His first owner loved him very much but was unable to keep him due to breed restrictions. She re-homed him to a friend, who also ran into the same issue. His third owner could not keep Ace contained in his yard, so opted not to reclaim him from animal control. Ace is a WONDERFUL dog, who wants nothing more than to play with toys. He is extremely athletic, and needs a home with a privacy fence. We are recommending him for a home with older kids only, due his size and energy level (he could easily knock over a little one, and then smother them in kisses). He has done well during introductions with other dogs. The jury is still out on cats. In his interactions, he has been extremely curious. We do not believe he would be aggressive, but we do think he may want to play with them, as he thinks the entire world is his toy box. Ace is neutered, vaccinated, heartworm negative, on heartworm prevention, and microchipped. Considering Ace for adoption? Story
Kore is approximately 4 years old and such a great dog. She isn't bothered by thunderstorms or fireworks and rarely makes much noise (unless you count her snoring). She knows basic commands thru hand signals because she is completely deaf. She knows how to walk well on a leash and has a ton of energy, which makes her an excellent walking/running partner. Kore is very selective on what dogs she prefers, so she does best as an only dog, but she absolutely loves all cats and kittens, even the ones who don't like her. She is great with kids of all ages, but she does forget her strength so she can be a bit much for smaller kids. She loves car trips and is fully crate trained. She is very trainable and absolutely loves to please her handler. She is very ball-motivated and will play fetch til she's utterly exhausted. She can be a bit of a piglet and she loves mud but she's an absolute dream to bathe and she will stand for you calmly and dries almost fully with one towel. She's a great dog with a super happy-go-lucky personality. A 6' fence will be necessary for anyone interested in adopting Kore.

Story
Belle originally came to us as an 8 week old puppy found as a stray. She was adopted and then at 14 months old because adopters had not provided any training and were started to struggle with adolescent shepherd behaviors. She is currently living in a foster home with 9 other dogs and doing well. She is high energy and likes to play hard. While she has been around children, we do not recommend small children due to her size and energy level. She is crate trained and potty trained. She would do best in a home with a fenced in yard, and someone who is committed to ongoing training. Belle is spayed, vaccinated, heartworm negative, and microchipped.

Story
BamBam was found as a stray in Speedway and brought to Speedway's animal control. During that time he did great with other dogs and humans in a controlled setting. He loves to play and knows some commands, like sit. He would do best in a home without other dogs at this time, as he compulsively likes to hump other animals, and doesn't listen to corrections from the other dog. While this behavior may go away with time (he was neutered on 8/20), it is currently an ongoing issue as of 8/23. BamBam needs a home with an experienced owner. He is also available for foster-to-adopt, and we are willing to provide a behaviorist to work through his compulsive humping, which also extends to objects. Our trainer's assessment is that a behaviorist who can prescribe behavior meds while we work through this issue could be helpful. We are also looking for a home with no kids at this time, as BamBam could easily knock over a child with his size. BamBam is neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, heartworm negative, on heartworm prevention, dewormed, and on flea prevention. His adoption fee is $300.
