Story
To help us make a great fit for you, and any of our dogs as well, please include information about yourself(Home, family, yard/fence, work hours, other pets...) and/or use our application at sparrowdogs.com. COURTESY POST---This handsome boy is NOT with our rescue, he is with his family right now and we are helping them to find a wonderful home for Cooper. You can look at his pictures and see that Cooper is a very much loved family member. He has had a wonderful life with his people, and his other dog pal. And he really is an awesome guy, full of life and exuberance. But, that occasional over the top personality is a little too much for a family that just welcomed a newborn. So, no judgement there, they are just trying to make the best decisions for their baby as well as Cooper. Cooper is a 5 year old Pitbull mix. The family had initially adopted him a few years ago from a rescue, he had been left tied to a tree at some point in his life and was also heartworm positive. He has been treated for the heartworms and he is a healthy, robust and fully vetted boy. Cooper has lived with his other dog buddy and does well. Occasionally they play a little too rough(of course!) when they get a bit excited. He also lives with a cat that he wants to play with, however, the cat is not that interested in playing with Cooper, lol. Cooper's family says that he can be a little bit of an energy overload at times, he gets so exited meeting new people and dogs, gets excited about being outside and will jump on people and even has a big waggy tail that can hurt a little bit on the receiving end, lol. He is on some calming meds at this point, but perhaps could wean off of them in a small child free and also an active home to burn off some of that energy. Cooper's family has been working with a trainer and he is doing well. HE knows, sit, lay, shake and is doing well with place training on a mat, as well as a slip lead for a calming control device. When Cooper is not enjoying all the excitement of his life he is also a very laid back guy. If you are relaxing, well, he is right there with you. Cooper is a professional snuggler and loves to be by your side, keeping your feet warm in bed, or cozied up for some Netflix! Cooper will most likely do better in a rural situation where he does not have as many distractions such as other dogs, people cars and such to get him overly excited. Cooper is an extra special guy that deserves all the best. His family is hoping to find an active, loving home, older kids would be best. He lives with another male dog now, but really does well with older female dogs. If you have an awesome home for an awesome dog, please email Kristine at joysparrows@gmail.com.

Story
To help us make a great fit for you, and any of our dogs as well, please include information about yourself(Home, family, yard/fence, work hours, other pets...) and/or use our application at sparrowdogs.com. Those emails will get the quickest response, we do the best we can, but if we have to follow up with an email asking you about yourself and waiting for a response, well, we have already moved on to the next email that has provided the details. We are doing the best we can to find the right home for each dog or cat, just need your help too! : His real name is Shiitake, you know, like the mushroom. We did not name him, he was given that moniker at the animal control that took him in. But, it is a cutesy name for a very cute boy, he is our little mushroom! The fungus amongus. We just call him "Taki" for short. (we pronounce it Tocky). We are totally in love with Taki, he is simply a brilliant dog!! By that we mean he is of course incredibly handsome(stunning), but also over the top loving to his people and his dog pals. He is so smart, alert and very athletic. He is also very tuned into his people, has great recall and wonderful manners. In fact, he had an adoption with a wonderful couple that fell head over heels for this guy. But sadly, Taki was not terribly fond of city living, he was a bit anxious with all of the sights and sounds. They tearfully brought him back to us knowing that they could not provide what Taki truly may prefer in his life. Taki LOVES being outside, he will be an excellent hiking/jogging/kayaking partner. He also loves water. He will do best in an active home with a fenced yard and another dog buddy would be a huge plus. He is fine with dogs of all shapes and sizes, but probably not cats, he has quite the prey drive(no birds landing in this yard!). Also, Taki will be fine in a home with OLDER children, sorry no little guys. Taki has impeccable house manners and is quite the gentleman. He is young, yet is beyond the chewing stage, although he does love his toys!! As active as he is, he is more than happy to snuggle up to his favorite people for a football game or movie marathon. How perfect is that, an active buddy to keep you active as well, but one that also knows how to mellow indoors and enjoy those quiet, snowy evenings. Taki is just 30 pounds, he is more legs than he is anything. We are guessing on his breed(s). He has the look of a Shiba Inu? Norwegian Elkhound? He is a mix of some sort, Shepard(maybe basenji?), we are not sure. We are sure that he is spectacular, he looks like a regal show dog when he poses. He will do well with a dog savvy family that can guide this young guy in his life to help him reach his full potential. His adoption fee is $300, now $275. Taki has a oodles of things to go home with him including a nice cot and blanket, a harness and leash, toys, treats, food, everything this terrific guy will need! Please email Kristine at joysparrows@gmail.com.

Story
Shadow is a purebred Silver Lab. He is an energetic and fun loving dog. He loves people and is exceedingly eager to please. He likes to play fetch and carry around logs while heeling his master all over his home property. He has always lived outside while spending nights in a secure shed. He loves food and can eat nearly anything. He would love to spend as much time with people as he possibly can and loves to be petted and loved. He is strong and fast and full of energy. He is four years old.

Story
To help us make a great fit for you, and any of our dogs as well, please include information about yourself(Home, family, yard/fence, work hours, other pets...) and/or use our application at sparrowdogs.com. Look out world, Miss Lainey is ready to begin the next(and BEST) chapter of her life!! This precious girl was given up by her previous family to a large shelter. It did not take long for Lainey to become overwhelmed with all the noise and excitement and her behavior soon deteriorated. It is actually very common for dogs to become fearful and defensive in those setting, I think I would as well. But-good news-Lainey recovered very nicely in her foster home. She was a little guarded the first few hours, but after that, the gloves were off and she was in full play mode. She LOVES to run and play with the other dogs and is quite athletic. Lainey also is a pro at snuggling, one of her favorite past times. If there is a lap available, well, Lainey is your girl. She is the silliest little thing, she actually smiles. When you are talking to her she will wiggle, sit down and give the goofiest toothy grin, cutest thing ever!! Lainey has been wonderful with the people she has met in her foster home, but we think she will do better in a home with older kids, we have not had her around little ones. We are totally guessing at her breed. We do believe she is a purebred Rat Terrier, but certainly cannot guarantee that. We do know she is adorable, super smart, well mannered and housebroken, sweet, silly and pretty darn awesome. She is looking for a loving and fairly active home where she will not be left alone for long hours. Another dog in the home that is equally as playful would be great, a fenced yard is a huge plus. We adore this spunky little girl and she will go home with plenty of supplies to help her settle into her new home. Her adoption fee is $325. Lainey is 1 year old and about 12 pounds. Story
We look forward to your response in regards for this delightful gentleman, but when you do, please use our application at sparrowdogs.com, or tell us a bit about yourself please. Meet Otto, he is perhaps a Pugchi, part Pug and part Chihuahua. We think the Pug genes gave him his love for the sedentary life, appetite and some girth. His Chihuahua side of the family tossed in a little bit of spice into that mix and gave him just a dash of attitude. He is a man of leisure. He enjoys a fine meal and a soft bed. He prefers his blankets swirled around his portly frame. Occasionally his face will poke out, just for a sniff, perhaps there is a snack headed his way?? Or...one of the other foster dogs might need his stern guidance if things are getting a little willy nilly. He does not suffer fools lightly.(lol) Well, with that said, that is the reputation Otto tries to uphold. He wouldn't want anyone to know that he really has a fun side, ya know! He can be a little cantankerous on occasion, but all that amounts to is a few grumbles. He wouldn't want to admit it, but he has had a lot of fun running around with the playful dogs in the yard. Even at 8-9 years old, he can be a spunky guy. Otto enjoys spending his time relaxing on a soft bed. He is looking for a more laid back home, and one that will understand that he may need a little time to get to know you. He will do well in a a dog savvy home that understands that it takes time to develop some relationships, and those can be the best ones!! He can be fine with kids, but we think perhaps teens, no little guys. Otto is fine with women, but really prefers men, he would like a buddy to hang around with.
