You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.    PUPDATE 5-20-2023 Well, well, well! It's almost a full year that I've been in foster care! I am so exuberant and full of life that I need a very active family. I love my walks so much, I could walk for days without tiring. I need a fenced in area at my new home. I do love exploring and tend to get overy anxious about what's out there for me to explore. I am current on vaccinations, my yearly check up is on June 8th, where I will be updated again and also have my blood checked for heartworms. I am on monthly heartworm tablets, and so far I'm doing great. I would love a family of my own with 12year olds or older to play with me. Children must be very respectable to animals. I tend to get jumpy when I'm excited so I would not want to hurt anyone. I am very intelligent, I mind well and I am crate trained. I will let you know when I need to use the outdoors, I have not had any accidents in a very long time. Almost 9 months. Hi every one of you looking for a very active pup! My name is Carson, I'm an owner surrender. Circumstances for surrender are due to no choice of my own. I am a very happy and loving pup. It may take me awhile to get to know you, maybe a day or two but I will be your constant companion. I love spending time outside exploring. I adore walks and being outside sniffing anything and everything. I will let you know when I need to go out to do my business,  with a bark or a whine.. We are working on my potty training and I think I have it all under control. I'm not a fan of toys, but I do like Nylabone chews. Once in awhile I will play with a squeaky toy, but not very often. I love to cuddle with other pups, but remember, I'm pretty active and I don't rest up a lot. Sometimes that can be annoying to my foster brothers and sisters as they are all seniors and sleep too much for me. I am up to date on all my vaccinations, microchipped, neutered and just had my dental. I am very healthy and have been on HW preventative and flea and tick preventative. W need to make sure I stay healthy for I have a long life ahead of me. I'm looking for a home with possible older and considerate children who will meet my needs of activity. I am crate trained and leash trained.  Could you be looking for a handsome boy like me? Just look into my eyes...one blue and one brown. Very mesmerizing if I may say so myself! I do REQUIRE a fence, for I am very inquisitive and may run after critters or I may just want to explore outside of my yard. Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.November 5, 2024, 12:09 am

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.*Toi is a a forever foster due to health issues*. As a special needs pup we appreciate sponsorships and donation to his care.   *All applicants must have a vet reference and a fenced yard to be considered.* Due to no fault of his own, Toi is in a new foster home. Unfortunately for all concerned, he lost his foster daddy and his foster home due to a house fire. He has managed to worm his way into the hearts of his foster parents. He gets along with all of his foster siblings due to a very slow meet and greet. He is doing extremely well and we are so proud of him. Toi is UTD on all vaccinations at this time. He has a voracious appetite and will not miss being in the kitchen under foot while we are cooking. Toi would love to have a home of his very own where he will get all the attention he deserves. He needs a stable environment with no children in the home. Children tend to move fast and that movement scares Toi. Hello lucky lottery winner!!!  No— not really a lottery, but you will feel like you have hit the jackpot if I choose you to be my forever home.  So let’s talk about me and see if we could be a family.     My name is Toi.  I am a Min Pin/Chihuahua mix who is 12  years old.  Don’t let that age thing bother you,, I am a medium energy dog who loves walks, zoomies in the backyard with my foster sister and brother and car rides.  My favorite word is Treats!!!   I am a little bit choosey about who I do and don’t like. Foster mom says I need some more “socialization:”- whatever that means.  Hey— do you instantly like everyone you meet?  I bet you don’t.  I choose to think of myself as discerning about who I let into my inner circle!!  But just think how special you will feel when I decide that you are deserving of my trust, snuggles and love.  I didn’t get to meet a lot of people when I was growing up and it takes me a while to let my guard down with new humans. I do best when I am on a leash when new two-leggers come into the house. I can be growly, but if they leave me alone, I leave them alone. I listen to Mom when she tells me “Toi, settle down, don’t be growly, you’re fine”.     My foster home has two other dogs in it, so I have a foster brother and sister who are my best friends.  We love to run around the backyard together, wait for our treats, mealtime and jump into the big bed every morning..  My favorite place to sleep at night is on a chair covered in my blankets in the big bedroom. I need lots of blankets so I can burrow down inside of them!!     Children aren’t really my thing, so foster mom says we are looking for a home with adults only.  And my new family needs to be very experienced with dogs who need a little extra attention, time and patience. Do you know the saying, “good things come to those who wait” or  “patience is a virtue”?  Or how about— just love me for who I am, just like I will love you for who you are and together we will grow and become the best we can be.   Am I a lap dog?  No. Am I going to instantly trust you? No. Am I worth the work you will put into building a relationship with me?  You bet!! And on top of that— I am very handsome.  So maybe it’s okay that I play a little “hard to get”!   This is what I need from my new family:   A big fenced in backyard so I can run and run and run.  At least one other dog to be my bestie and to show me how to be a dog. Someone who can understand that while I love to lay right next to my human, I am not one of those silly lap dogs who wants to be held like a baby.   Maybe some day, but not right now.  Someone who loves me unconditionally and will take the time to earn my love and trust.   I do not really like men and so I need a Mom in my new home. I have gotten used to my foster Dad- but really need to have my main forever parent be a woman.   Adults who are experienced with dogs who have fear and socialization issues.   And don’t forget about toys— I need lots of toys!! Toys to carry around, toys to throw up in the air, toys to chase— you can never have too many toys!!  But mostly time, love and patience.    So let’s get those applications rolling in and I can pick out my new home!!!  I’m posting some new pics that foster mom took of me and I know they make me look irresistible!!!       Toi's adoption donation is $250.00 Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.November 5, 2024, 12:09 am

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.**Orion is a forever foster because of health reasons.  We welcome any sponsorships and donations to his care.**   Update:   I have been in foster care now for 8 months. I do not like other dogs and if they get in my way I will fight with them. I believe I am getting older and can't tolerate blind, slow moving pups. My foster mommy thinks I will become another forever foster. I just need a quiet home, no children, no other dogs and a mommy and daddy that will love me for who I am. I have had plenty of blood work-ups and everything comes back normal. I can no longer hold my urine even though I am let out several times a day. I do sport a belly band at all times. My name is Orion. My foster mommy named me, and I already know my name. I was found by a nice lady while wandering the country roads in Winnebago County. I was taken to WCAS and put on a stray hold. No one claimed me so I was taken in under the wings of A Promise of Love Rescue. I have a bit of a smoky past that I don't like to remember. Everyone believes I've been abused physically at some point in my life...because I now have a bite history. I was quarantined for 10 full days in my foster home for biting a volunteer at WCAS just before foster momma picked me up. I also bit my foster momma when she tried to pet me, and bit my foster daddy in the face when he tried to kiss my forehead. Foster momma took me to the doggy doctor and to much of our surprise, I have a Grade 4 Heart Murmur. Since I've been on my new medicine, I am more calm and I show no signs of irritability. I get along with the other foster pups here, I'm pretty much a loner. I love my human family, sit close to them and gently take treats. I like early morning short walks and come home ready to nap and eat breakfast. My appetite is great and I never miss a meal. I am looking for a quiet home where I will be loved and have a warm bed to sleep in. No children please, they scare me and are a bit rambunctious. I need my medication daily, Enalapril. It's not expensive, only $13.00 for 2 months. This helps my heart stay strong.  Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.November 5, 2024, 12:09 am

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Nala and Gizmo are a bonded pair and have been together for 8 years, therefore they must be adopted together. Nala is a sweet little nugget with her big brown eyes and short legs. She loves all people and would do well in a home with respectful children twelve years or older. Her favorite spot would be on your lap receiving belly rubs. Nala and Gizmo protect each other, so being the only pups in the home would be ideal. When playtime is over, she will quietly walk away and find a cozy bed to rest. She is very laid back and doesn’t have a care in the world. Just looking at her will melt your heart. Nala will let you know when she is hungry, it’s the only time she barks. When she hears her meals being prepared, she barks until her meal is in front of her. Nala is up to date on all her vaccinations including Bordatella. She is microchipped and is taking a monthly flea/tick and Heart worm preventative. Nala and Gizmo must have a securely fenced area to relieve themselves. They both enjoy being outdoors. She is potty trained.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.November 5, 2024, 12:09 am

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Gizmo and Nala are a bonded pair and have been together for eight years and will only be adopted together. Gizmo is a laugh a minute. He loves his small toys and is addicted to small balls. Carrying them with him, dropping them in one area, and retrieving more till he has a stock pile of his treasures at your feet. Gizzy is a proud little nugget with a constant tail wag. He adores attention and is always pushing his hiney into you, In and out of your legs, just like a kitten. When Nala is exhausted from human attention, Gizmo knows it’s his turn. He treats Nala like the princess she is. Meal time is simple. They must eat in separate areas because Nala is the ruler of the roost and will steal Gizmos meals, then excuse herself graciously to go and eat her own. The two of them spend their days together snuggling, exploring outside or playing with toys. Gizmo is neutered, UTD in all vaccinations including Bordatella. He is microchipped and takes a monthly flea/tick and heartworm preventative. Gizmo and Nala must go to a home with a securely fenced area.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.November 5, 2024, 12:09 am

Story
I’ve had Gaia since she was a puppy. She will be 4 years old in February. She has had professional training and knows the basic commands. She walks on a leash well but pulls sometimes. She enjoys swimming and running. Squeaky balls are her favorite. She is trained with bells to ask for something; outside, food, treats, etc. She gets along well with other dogs and tends to be a leader. She’s always happy to greet other dogs when we take walks. My new husband, as much as he likes her too, is allergic to her. Medication doesn’t help and we need to relocate on top of that. I’m flexible with location as long as she is a good match for you.
