Story
Ezra is 2 years old. He is the sweetest dog when it is just him. He is good with other dogs but can be territorial. He does not like cats at all. The best home would be one without babies/kids. He does have anxiety and takes trazodone to help with it. I just don’t have the time he deserves to help him.

Story
Bruno is a little over a year old, unknown birthday. He is playful and energetic. He plays with other dogs but wants to be their alpha. A friend was going to let him lose when he was between 3 to 5 months old because he got it gifted and didn't want him. We tried to work it out with our other two pets but Bruno is just too energetic for them and the family. He follows basic commands and is kennel trained. He loves going for walks

Story
I found Sadie on the highway. I have had her for almost 5 years. With that being said she might be around 5 or 6. She has been the best dog. She is very lively and hyper. Until I had my daughter things started to change. She became hostile towards my daughter. However she is still a very good dog. I want someone that has a lot of time to put into her. Someone that has no small kids. Overall she is a great 4 legged companion. She just needs extra TLC!

We do not allow shipping & do not transport. You must live within 350 miles from Maryville, IL & able to drive for a meet and greet. We are a 100% foster-based rescue. Applications can be found on our website at gateway4paws.org Bosc is a sweet boy who has been looking for his very own family for over a year but no one has been interested in him. He loves to be held & snuggles when it is storming outside. He is a timid boy and would prefer to just come to you when he wants to. His family should be prepared to give him plenty of time to get used to being around hands, humans, & home activity. Bosc will not walk or do potty business while on a harness and leash. Therefore, he must have a secure physically fenced yard. In time, his family can work on leash training, but he isn't ready for that right now. Bosc enjoys the company of his foster brothers and sisters. He looks to them for guidance so this will be a requirement for Bosc. They also need to be of similar size to Bosc or smaller. Bosc has shown measurable improvement in potty training. While in the house, his mom uses a belly band for him. This allows her the opportunity to correct his behavior without the panic of getting the furniture or carpet soiled. He is doing well, but again, his training needs time, praise, & consistency. Bosc will be the perfect companion to just hang out at home relaxing. Please apply if you are prepared to dedicate time & love to giving Bosc the family he has always deserved.

Story
Shih Tzu DOB 12/18/19 12lbs Neutered/Microchipped UTD on vaccinations Current on flea/heartworm prevention Please read the bio in its ENTIRETY, it will answer most of your questions. If you are a perfect match, please send an email to gateway4paws@gmail.com for additional information. Only complete & qualified applications will be considered/contacted. We do not allow shipping & do not transport. You must live within 350 miles from Maryville, IL & able to drive for a meet and greet. We are a 100% foster-based rescue. Applications can be found here on our website. Hershey was a pretty shy boy when he first arrived. He was scared & not sure what the future was going to be. Well, he arrived at his foster home & was greeted by some furry friends who assured him it was going to be fabulous from here on out. He spent the first few weeks just watching. Watching the humans, watching the other dogs, & watching the household activities. Hershey has come a long way and now follows his foster mom everywhere. He will jump up on the recliner so his foster mom will hold him. He lays in the kitchen next to her feet. He loves his foster mom. He is still unsure of his foster dad but is getting better. In his new home, everyone will need to understand Hershey will need time to adjust so you will need patience. Hershey is still not accepting of the harness and leash so he will need a secure physically fenced yard. In time, his family can work on leash training, but it isn’t going to happen any time soon. He is a very good boy that doesn’t need to be crated & is always on his best behavior when his foster family is gone. He is not completely potty trained but taken out often, he doesn't have accidents. Hershey needs a low-key family that will allow him to bloom. He really needs another dog of similar size in the home already. He will lay and snuggle with his foster siblings around the home during the day and he cuddles with his 4 legged siblings on a comfy bed in his human fosters bedroom. Please apply if you have a nice slow-paced home for Hershey to join.

Blanche Maltese 5yo/ DOB 04/22/19 Approx 10lbs Spayed/Microchipped UTD on vaccinations Current on flea & heartworm prevention Please read the bio in its ENTIRETY. If you feel your family is a perfect match, please send an email to gateway4paws@gmail.com for additional information. Only complete & qualified applications will be considered/contacted. We do not allow shipping & do not transport. You must live within 350 miles from Maryville, IL & able to drive there for a meet and greet. We are a 100% foster-based rescue. Applications & FAQ about our adoption process can be found on our website. Blanche is a low key, quiet little girl. Until now, she has spent her time raising puppies for other families. Now, she has the chance to find her family & to be loved for the rest of her life. She has had very little human interaction, so humans are unfamiliar to her. She is very brave, and will smell your hand & take treats from you. She just needs some time to get used to movement & home noises. She will do best learning from other 4-legged siblings so we would like to see her find a home with some friends of similar size & energy level. She follows her foster siblings around, like in & out the door for potties. Going from room to room & different activities. Blanche is not yet ready to be a lap dog, and she isn't a dog that you can just pick up. She will need time to establish trust & relationships with her family. She is still not accepting of the harness and leash. Therefore, for her safety, a secure physically enclosed area is a must. She isn't an outdoor adventure dog; she doesn't need a yard that she can run around in. But she does need a very secure area to do her potty business. Never EVER should she be left in the yard alone. If you are looking for a quiet friend, Blanche would love to hang out with you! We hope to find her a human friend that is interested in spending the day with Blanche watching & observing the wonderful world around her. She is a dog that is finally getting her chance to lounge around & be a dog!
