Story
Hi, I'm Izzy. I was rescued as a stray by the Whiting Animal Shelter in Whiting, IN. Since the shelter has been full, I have been living off and on in a crate in the hallway. I desperately need a foster or adopter to set me free! I am a sweet girl who gets along with dogs and older kids (because I have a lot of energy from being crated so much and I get excited). I will be fully vetted by TTDR upon adoption (up to date on vaccines, spayed and microchipped). I am still in Whiting, IN but can be transported to an approved foster or adopter. I hope to meet you soon!

Story
Hi, I'm Chopper! I was originally rescued from a shelter in SC by TTDR back in January of 2021. I was at risk of euthanasia because I was heartworm positive. TTDR found me a home and and I was treated for heartworm. I am still negative today! Unfortunately after three years I was surrendered back to TTDR due to no fault of my own. The family had a change of circumstances and couldn't keep me. When I arrived back to TTDR, they were shocked to find a large tumor on my left rear leg as well. I had the tumor removed and TTDR removed and luckily it was a benign growth. I am healing up nicely. I recently spent 5 weeks in training there to learn some basic commands. I desperately need a foster or adopter. I am not a fan of other dogs or cats. I am fine with older kids and adults. I've had a really rough life with lots of bad luck. I am a sweet boy who is ready to settle in with a family who will love me to the end. I would do great in a fenced yard and with an owner who has some Husky or Shepherd experience. I love to snuggle on the couch. I am currently being boarded in Chattanooga, TN but can be transported to an approved foster or adopter. My adoption fee is being sponsored. I can't wait to meet you!

Story
Meet Bear! Bear spent his whole life with a family. Unfortunately he was hit by a car and his family couldn’t afford the care needed to save him. A shelter stepped up to do the surgery, but in an overcrowded shelter, healing was not going well. Bear was pulled by Traveling Tails and has been in a foster home in Indianapolis ever since. From his foster: Bear is a one and a half year-old handsome Husky mix with eyes that will melt your heart. He weighs 58 lbs. He has the Husky personality – playful, friendly and super-smart. I have been fostering Bear for about 4 months as he recovers from a broken leg after being hit by a vehicle. It has been a tough journey and he has been amazing through all of it. His leg is healed. I have not yet let him go 100% on the leg. He needs a little more time to get the muscles back in his leg. We do go for about a mile walk twice a day. I also let hm play with other dogs for about 30 minutes. Bear wants to be with his people - he will follow you from room to room or stay by your side when working or watching TV. He will let you know when he wants to play, go out to potty or just needs some loving. When he wants loving, he with just lay on you or at least try. None of these behaviors are all the time. He definitely has energy that will only get greater as his mobility improves. Bear will thrive with an active family. He loves human interaction and should not be left alone for long periods of time every day. He would be best suited for a family who will regularly take him for hikes and walks in parks. He travels in cars well. A secure yard is a must. Bear would enjoy time outside, playing fetch with his family. Bear is getting better around moving cars , but still fears trucks. so the ideal home would be on a quiet street. Bear is up to date on vaccines, neutered, and microchipped. Bear has been clear by the vets. He will have another set of x-rays in a few weeks to give him the all clear. Vetting will be covered by the rescue until medically cleared by the vet when he is healed. He is currently in Indianapolis but can be transported to his perfect adopter.

Story
Meet Pumpkin King, a lovable 30-pound fluffy mixed breed who’s ready for his second chance after being rescued from a stressful shelter in Indiana. Pumpkin King doesn't like to have his neck touched, therefore we are looking for a family with high school aged kids or only adults. His foster family believes he would be happiest with another playful dog. Pumpkin King loves his toys and is house-trained, even barking to let you know when he needs to go outside. Pumpkin King is currently being fostered in Greenville, PA, but can be transported to an approved adopter. This charming pup is eager to find his forever home!
