Story
Taz is a 1-year-old Rat Terrier/Chihuahua mix. He's a very thin 8-pounds, but he's already filling out with good food and lots of love. Taz was terrified at animal control, and with his foster for the first couple of days. He needs to figure out you're not trying to hurt him, and then he will come BEGGING for the love and belly rubs. He still gets a little overstimulated at times. So, you just have to follow his signals. He will crawl into your lap and lick your face until you're sure you have no face left. Ha! No young children in the home please. This poor guy has suffered enough in his short life. All he needs is a loving home with pawrents who can continue to help his trust of people grow every day. Taz gets along well with other small dogs, is pretty quiet so far, and rides fine in a car. He does well on a leash also. Taz has really come out of his shell. He loves playing with other small dogs, and has filled out nicely. He is now a healthy 10-pounds. This young cutie is going to make someone very happy! Apply today Please apply here: https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/DBSR/Dog His minimum adoption donation amount is $325. He is neutered, up-to-date on vaccinations, microchipped, dewormed, heart worm checked, and on flea/tick and heart worm preventatives. We are located in Bloomington, IL We do not ship, you would need to travel to pick up your babies if you live out of state. Your current pets must be up-to-date on core vaccines, spayed/neutered, and on heart worm prevention year round. You must be at least 21-years-old to adopt. Please have your veterinarian and two non-family reference phone numbers ready. The app makes you start all over if you leave the page to look up numbers. Story
Ralphie is a charming, almost 10-year-old Basset Hound/Beagle mix weighing in at a lovable 53.5 pounds. He's a trustworthy boy who can be loose in the house without having an accident.  His favorite place to sleep is in bed with his people. His hobbies include sniffing around the yard, going for walks, and enjoying car rids. This smartie knows "sit" and is very motivated by food and affection. Ralphie is great with people and other dogs, making him a wonderful companion in a multi-pet household. Although he hasn’t been around kids while in our care, Ralphie is wonderful with every kid he meets. He's happiest when he’s napping or enjoying a meal, as long as his loved ones are nearby. He's very loving, but not clingy. His foster mom shares: "Ralphie l ikes to curl up and watch TV or just be near the pack. He gets along with the three dogs in our house and goes equally to my husband or me. He’s dearly loved by our entire family, and we want nothing more than to find him the perfect forever family! And don’t let his sad hound eyes fool you, he’s very happy go-lucky!" If you’re looking for a loyal, loving companion who will be your shadow and your best friend, Ralphie is the perfect match! His minimum adoption fee is $200 plus a $15 fee, if 4 months or older, for rabies registration for McLean County residents. He has been neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, heartworm checked, dewormed, and is on flea and heartworm preventatives. Story
Tommy Boy is an adorable Pomeranian. He was a little chubby when he first arrived. However, this 12-years-young kiddo is now a healthy 16-pounds. He’s an amazing sweet pea who loves attention. He gets along with other dogs and cats, and would be fine with respectful children. Tommy Boy isn’t much of a barker, so he’d be a great fit no matter where you live. He loves food, naps, and people. Probably in that order. Haha! Can you provide this cutie with his forever home? Please apply here: https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/DBSR/Dog His minimum adoption donation amount is $245. He is neutered, up-to-date on vaccinations, microchipped, dewormed, heart worm checked, and on flea/tick and heart worm preventatives. Story
All Pet Central animals are up to date on age-appropriate vaccinations, spayed or neutered, microchipped (registration included), and current on parasite prevention. Dogs over six-months of age are heartworm tested. When adopting, we will ensure that you receive copies of veterinary and microchip records. If you are interested in this pet, please fill out the brief Adopter Survey by hitting "Apply for Adoption" on the profile. After we review your completed survey we will contact you by phone or email within three business days. We're primarily a volunteer organization, so we appreciate your patience. Please note- Out of respect for our volunteers and staff, we are closed on Sundays and Mondays and will not be processing any applications on that day. Do get back to us right away when we call or email regarding an application so that we can quickly connect using the process below: Select a pet and submit an online adoption survey. A PCH adoption counselor will contact potential adopters within three business days (PCH cannot guarantee any pet's availability, but we make every effort to accommodate adopters with a reply and possible alternative suggestions). Counselor and client will then have a conversation to answer questions, discuss any medical needs for the pet and determine the suitability of a match (if necessary, we may opt to put adopters in touch with foster parents). After a match is made, clients will be asked to sign our adoption agreement and pay the adoption fee online through our secure payment system *Please see our modified no-risk return policy. (below) The PCH adoption counselor will then set up a specific appointment time and location. Adopters should bring a pet carrier and leash to pick up. Adult pets will be wearing a collar. It is important that clients arrive on time, neither early nor late. If your adoption is scheduled at Pet Central Helps!: Upon arrival inside the Crossroads Center complex (360 Wylie Drive), look for the black Pet Central Helps! semi-trailer, which is right outside of our facility (Suite 720). Park in the parking lot and enter the facility. A PCH representative will greet you and show you to the adoption room. Your new pet will be handed to you. We will take a "Happy Adoption Day photo with your pet and family. If your adoption is scheduled at PetSmart: Park in the PetSmart Parking lot and enter the store. We will be set up just inside the store entrance. Let us know you are here to pick up your pet! A PCH representative will confirm your information and hand you your pet. We will take a "Happy Adoption Day photo with your pet and family. PCH supports a 21-day no-fault return policy in which adopters are given the opportunity to find a better match. If we are not able to provide advice/tools to keep a pet in the home we offer these options: Exchange for a pet that may be a better match** Receive a refund minus a $40 processing fee** With this approach, we can often turn mismatches into opportunities! Thank you, Pet Central Helps!

Story
Meet River, a gentle soul 1-year old Lab mix with the sweetest heart. She's a petite girl at about 42 pounds. This shy girl has had a tough time adjusting to shelter life, but once she feels safe, her loving personality shines through. She will thrive with a confident canine companion to help her feel secure and build her confidence. River is a quiet at the shelter and keeps her run clean. She enjoys belly rubs, brief yard adventures, and curling up in her bed. She’s still learning that the world isn’t so scary, so she needs a patient home with a secure fenced yard to keep her safe. Because quick movements and loud noises startle her, she will need a calm, adult-only home or one with children 10+ who can respect her need to adjust. If you have a kind heart, a peaceful home, and a furry friend to guide her, River would love to be your loyal companion. Her minimum adoption fee is $300 plus a $15 fee, if 4 months or older, for rabies registration for McLean County residents. She has been spayed, microchipped, vaccinated, heartworm checked, dewormed, and is on flea and heartworm preventatives.
