Story
Hi my name is Busker! I’m a happy, healthy and playful little pup. I was born on 2/13/24, I am 8 months old. My mom came to New Start Dog Rescue when me and my siblings were still in her tummy. So we were born in a foster home and have been well taken care of since birth. I currently weigh 26 lbs. Not sure who my dad was but my mom is 35 lbs. and is a Cattle Dog/Blue Heeler mix. I’ll probably get to be more than that cause I’m a chunky baby right now! The rescue sent out a DNA test on me and my siblings, turns out we’re part Australian Cattle Dog, American Pit Bull Terrier, American English Coonhound, Miniature Pinscher, and Supermutt! Talk about a great mix! I am housebroken and crate trained! Local adoptions only. We do not adopt out of the state of Illinois. Puppies are being fostered in a private home. Appointments to meet them will be set up for approved adopters only. The adoption fee is $250 which includes all age appropriate vaccines. The puppies are neutered/spayed and microchipped. Please visit our website and fill out an application if you are interested at http://newstartdogrescue.org

Story
Hey there, I’m Ryder, the 10 month old 43 lb bundle of joy on four paws! Life is a grand adventure, and I’m here to soak up every moment with my tail wagging and my heart full of love. My foster parents recently swabbed me for a DNA test and the results are in! I am 32% Australian Sheppard, 25% Boxer, 14% Bernese Mountain Dog, 11% American Pit Bull Terrier, 5% Siberian Husky, and 100% a GOOD BOY! I was also negative for all the medical conditions they tested me for! I’ve got energy for days, and I’m not afraid to show it! Running, jumping, and exploring are my specialties. Whether it’s playing with kids, adults, or my fellow furry friends, I’m always up for a good time. And when it’s time to wind down, you can bet I’ll be right there, ready for some cuddles and snuggles. My humans say I’m a pro at crate training, and I've mastered the art of potty training. I use my voice to let my foster home know I need to potty! Speaking of my voice, I like to express myself vocally. Life with me is never dull, that’s for sure! So, if you’re looking for a playful companion who’s always ready for adventure, look no further. I’m your guy, ready to bring a whole lot of love and laughter into your world. Local adoptions only. We do not adopt out of the state of Illinois. Ryder is being fostered in a private home. Appointments to meet him will be set up for approved adopters only. His adoption fee is $250 which includes all age appropriate vaccines. He is neutered, microchipped and Heartworm negative. He has also been kept on both flea/tick and heartworm preventatives. Story
**** Northern Illinois/ Chicagoland suburb adoptions only **** Applications must be submitted on newstartdogrescue.org to be considered for adoption. FULLY FENCED YARD REQUIRED***** Kai is just over a year and a half old and he is a poodle mix. He currently weighs about 20 pounds. We are requiring an above ground fully fenced in yard for Kai. Kai is a super high energy dog that really loves to play. He is super smart and always ready to learn. He likes both toys and treats as learning tools. He came into the rescue very matted and in dire need of a grooming. Underneath all that was this adorable, funny boy! Kai can be fearful of new people but with slow intros when meeting anyone he hasn’t met before he warms up quickly. His foster family has been working on intros to new people. He would do best in a home that if there are children they are older and respectful (NO CHILDREN UNDER 13), as well as not a lot of new visitors. Kai is fully crate trained, house trained, and is very good with sit, come. He will need extra work on leave it, going down stairs and leash manners. He is very good with other dogs and would do best with another high energy dog! Slow introductions are a must with Kai!! He is up-to-date on all his vetting and vaccinations. He is neutered and already microchipped. Kai is being fostered in a private home. Appointments to meet him will be set up for approved adopters only. Adoption fee is $300. Please visit our website at http://newstartdogrescue.org and fill out an application if you are interested.

This two year old Lab Husky mix is a totally sweet, lovable goofball that loves to play, give kisses, and meet new friends! He really enjoys chasing after toys and playing with his foster dog brother. Olaf is even good with the cats that live there! He is a very active guy and needs an adopter who can provide plenty of exercise and continue building upon the training he is currently getting at his foster home. He exudes confidence and has no trouble saying hello to everyone he meets and will jump up into your arms for hugs! He truly is a big bundle of joy and brings a smile to all the faces around him! Make him yours today! Due to Olaf’s exuberant personality, he will do best in a home without young children. He is up-to-date on all his vetting and vaccinations. Story
**** Northern Illinois/ Chicagoland suburb adoptions only **** Applications must be submitted on newstartdogrescue.org to be considered for adoption. FULLY FENCED YARD REQUIRED***** Meet Ivy! She is a beautiful Blue Great Dane puppy. Ivy currently weighs 48 lbs and was born on March 24, 2024. She and a couple of her siblings came to us at the beginning of October. They had not been properly cared for and due to the lack of nutrition and proper exercise, their body condition was very poor. Thankfully after being placed in wonderful foster homes, they have thrived and gained weight. Their skin condition has improved immensely, and they are working on their social skills too. Due to their poor start in life, they are smaller than the average Dane their age, but our vet feels they will catch up in time. Ivy LOVES other dogs and is a huge snuggle bug. She has Dane foster brother and adults in her foster home and has grown so much in learning to trust people. She had very little socialization before coming to us so it’s been a work in progress. She is crate trained and housebroken as long as you are paying attention to her cues. We are requiring an above ground, fully fenced in yard for her as well as atleast one other dog in the home. Her new family will need to continue to work with her on socializing with people as she is still fearful of meeting new people. She quickly warms up with patience and slow intros. Ivy will do best in a home where someone is home a lot as she is a little Velcro girl. Please do your research on having an XL breed in the home if you have never had a Great Dane before. Local adoptions only. We do not adopt out of the state of Illinois. Ivy is being fostered in a private home. Appointments to meet her will be set up for approved adopters only. Her adoption fee is $500 which includes all age appropriate vaccines. She is spayed, microchipped and Heartworm negative. She has also been kept on both flea/tick and heartworm preventatives. Please visit our website and fill out an application if you are interested. http://newstartdogrescue.org
