Story
I got Maeve when she was 8 weeks old from a farm in North Carolina. She is two and a half years old now and I'm looking to rehome her with a family that has lots of space for her to run around and play in. I live in an apartment right now with two cats and she does not get along well with them. She is not aggressive towards them, but she likes to chase them around and this has been a chronic issue with her. I want her to have space to roam and play when she wants to and having other dogs for her to play with would be even better. I am only willing to give her to someone that will love her and provide her with the care and freedom she needs. She is very sweet with people and listens well to all of the commands I've taught her. She is up to date on all of her vaccines, flea, tick, and heartworm prevention.

Story
Lee had a sleepover and here is what they had to say!The sounds of a home are intriguing to him. He wasn’t scared by the TV, he was just interested in it. Largely he just wanted to snuggle all night and lay right next to me or on me. He’s not house trained, but he does give subtle cues when he does have to go outside to go potty so I feel this will be a quick learn for him. Potential adopters should know that due to his allergies, his medication will cost roughly $100 a month. He’s not allergic to food, just the environment which has caused infections in his ears. The vets at University of Illinois believe that once his infection is cleared up, he will need Apoquel daily, topical ear medications such as steroid drops two or three times a week, medicated baths perhaps once a week, and vet visits every three to six months to assess his skin, ears and allergy control.Lee is a sweet boy that needs to be the only animal in the home.

Story
Finch is a 5 year old 60lbs red tick coonhound with a voice like David Allen Coe. He has many typical hound tendencies like being vocal, constant curiosity and nose to the ground, but he is also very food motivated. He LOVES going on walks, treats, and is dog friendly and would like a dog brother or sister in his forever home. He is potty trained in his foster home that he has lived in for 2 years. Finch is a sensitive guy. He comes from a home where he was unsure of new people but generally tolerated them outside of the home. He is more protective of himself and his family when people enter his home if he is not comfortable with them. However, his foster mom has found that if they, along with the new person and his foster dog sister, goes for a walk outside then he`s more comfortable allowing the new person inside the home when done. They have also found success if he is on leash and treated when the new person enters that also works well. We do not recommend small children as it can take him a while to feel comfortable and trust his surroundings. Finch will need a family committed to him and his future socialization if they want to have success with this gorgeous copper guy.Adoption Fee: $ 200Estimated Date of Birth: UnknownIntake Reason: transfer from partner rescueAnimal will be spayed and up to date on vaccines, and microchipped prior to adoption. TAPS strives to keep kennel cards as up to date as possible with current information but from time to time, information may change and a new kennel card may be pending. Story
Links is a beautiful 4-year-old mixed breed dog who is looking for her forever home. She`s house-trained, kennel-trained, and knows a variety of basic commands including sit, stay, come, uh-uh, wait, and ok. Links is a dream on a leash, making her an excellent walking companion. This lovely girl is full of energy and loves to explore the great outdoors, especially when hiking (she`s great at `getting the zoomies`!) Links adores water and enjoys car rides, so she`s always ready for an adventure. When she`s not out and about, Links loves attention and belly rubs. She`s treat-motivated, which makes training and bonding with her a joy.Links gets along well with other dogs and enjoys initiating play with her current canine foster sibling. While she may not immediately play with new dogs, she is always pleasant when meeting them. However, Links prefers a home without small kids or cats.Though she is people-selective, Links’ loyalty and affection are unmatched once she trusts you. She prefers indoor lounging but is making great progress with spending more time outside.

Story
Sue has not had an easy life. She is scared and shy at first and needs a patient adopter to make her feel safe. While she does get along to some degree with other dogs, she does have some resource guarding with food so her best fit would be a home where she is an only dog. She can peacefully co-exist with other dogs in an environment where there are no toys and dogs are fed separately and the dishes are picked up after feeding. Because of her shy nature and a family`s need to read her body language, Sue needs a home with children 10+. Sue appears to be potty trained. Most likely no cats unless an adopter is prepared for extremely slow intros.Adoption Fee: $ 75Estimated Date of Birth: UnknownIntake Reason: transfer from out-of-state agencyAnimal will be spayed and up to date on vaccines, and microchipped prior to adoption. Story
Hello! My name is Zappa, and I`m a bundle of joy who loves to cuddle, play, and explore the outdoors. I`m always ready for an adventure, but be warned: I have a high prey drive and can`t resist chasing after squirrels. A fenced-in yard would be perfect for me to run and play safely.I`m a big fan of pets and cuddles, especially from my foster parents. I get along wonderfully with my foster brother Ares, and we have a blast playing together. I thrive when I have plenty of toys to keep me entertained, so make sure to keep me busy to avoid boredom.I`m almost fully housebroken, with only the occasional accident inside. During meal times, my foster parents separate me from Ares because I can`t resist trying to sneak his food! I`m crate trained and will happily go in on command.I am beginning to experience some hip dysplasia, with flattening in my femoral area. While the vet doesn`t recommend surgery at this time, it`s something that might be needed later in life. For now, I take joint supplements and Galliprant as needed to stay comfortable. If you`re looking for a loving and playful companion with a zest for life, I`m your pup! Can`t wait to meet you and become part of your family.Adoption Fee: $ 200Estimated Date of Birth: UnknownIntake Reason: transfer from local animal controlAnimal will be spayed and up to date on vaccines, and microchipped prior to adoption.
