Story
Drama is a sweet, energetic girl who loves to play, go for walks, and cuddle up once she’s gotten her energy out. She loves to lick as well. She’s smart, obedient, treat-motivated, and loves toys that challenge her. She’s crate-trained and does well with kids but likes to jump at times. but She does need brushed up on obedience training. She would thrive in a home where she can get daily exercise, attention, and structure. She is male dog selective, and NO female dogs. She would be happiest with someone who understands strong, intelligent breeds like hers. Drama has been deeply loved and cared for. This decision has been incredibly hard — but it’s being made so she can thrive in a home where she has the space and attention she deserves. We’re looking for someone who’s patient, dog-savvy, and ready to give her the love and stability she needs. Again, I would like to stress no female dogs at all. This has contributed to us rehoming her, as we have a female dog in the home.

Story
My name is Penny and I’m looking for my forever home. My must haves are: a patient forever family who will help me continue to learn to trust humans, and a securely fenced yard, since I am not yet comfortable walking on leash. A resident dog or two is recommended. I’m 6 years old and I came to SIRA from a commercial breeding facility where I was a breeder mama. When the breeder didn’t want me anymore, SIRA rescued me and brought me to my foster home here in Davenport, IA. I was so scared when I first arrived here – it’s so different than everything I knew. It has taken me some time to learn that humans here are kind to me. I’m still very cautious, but I am learning that attention from humans can be nice. My foster mom sometimes brings me over to the couch to sit on her lap. That feels nice and cozy and I will happily stay there. But when humans are moving around, I move away or just stay in my safe spot. I’m also figuring out that the humans here have yummy things to eat! It’s taken me a while, but I’m brave enough now to take treats from my foster mom’s hand. There are other dogs here in my foster home and I like them. We like to play together, especially around bedtime when I start to get the zoomies. I am a healthy girl – spayed, up-to-date on vaccinations, and I weigh around 18 lbs. My perfect forever family will be experienced with dogs like me who are shy and skittish. I’d love to have another nice dog friend or two to play with. They really help me feel safe and learn all about being a treasured family member. I haven't had the chance to meet any cats or small kids, so I don't know what I'd think of them. If you live in the Midwest and are interested in a sweet, shy, Pretty Penny to be by your side, the first step is to visit www.savingshibas.com/adopt to start the application process. Applying helps SIRA learn more about you so they can make sure we’ll be a good match. Once approved, they’ll introduce you to my foster mom so we can meet.

Story
Tiler is an on-the-go kind of pup who is always ready for action! At just a year old, he’s still very much in puppy mode and would thrive in an active home that can keep up with his enthusiasm. He LOVES to play—whether that’s chasing after a toy, finding his own entertainment, or zooming around outside. Leash walks? He thinks those should be sprints. He’ll need some training to learn how to slow down and focus, but with the right guidance, he’ll be a great adventure buddy. While he doesn’t always seek out affection right away, once he warms up, he’s all in—jumping into laps and giving kisses. If you’re looking for a fun-loving, playful dog who’s ready for adventure, Tiler just might be your perfect match! If you are interested in adopting, please visit the shelter during adoption hours. Be sure to let the front desk know the name of the dog you are interested in visiting. Once you have met with the dog and an application has been approved, we will then ask to complete a meet and greets with any dog(s) that are currently living in the home or visit frequently. Our adoption hours are as follows: Monday, Wednesday, Friday: 12pm-5:30pm Thursday: 2:30pm-5pm Saturday & Sunday: 12pm-4:30pm
