Story
Little Lovely Luna, yes little at 75ish pounds, is a super sweet and silly girl that catches the eye of people everywhere she goes. Her hippo like look and couch potato personality always collects admirers. And she is here for it! Luna is a social girl that loves meeting people, and especially loves men. Being able to spend time with the people she loves is of top priority to our beauty queen. When she isn't asking for love or giving you the most gentle kisses, she loves bully sticks to chew. Luna will take a squeaky toy but is not really sure what to do with them. Maybe shell figure it out one day! Luna knows sit and takes cookies and treats so softly. This is such an important skill when living in a home with children and she just seems to be such a natural at it. Luna likes exploring new things but prefers to have someone by her side while she does so. She is still warming up to items like vacuums, but then again we all know a dog who has an arch nemesis vacuum in their home, too! Some of her favorite activities outside of being the best house hippo there is is being in her backyard chasing cicadas. She keeps her crate clean and likes to listen to piano music while in it. Luna would do fine as a single dog, but could also share the home with a dog that is a good fit for her. Luna enjoys hanging out with her foster mom in her office, on her blanket of course. She also is child friendly and loves to snuggle with her fosters 9-year-old son. Give little Lovely Luna a chance, and her endless devotion and silly nature will keep you smiling every day. The adoption fee for Luna is $400. This donation helps to cover veterinary expenses including spay/neuter, microchip and vaccinations. Wish Upon a Rescue is a 501(c)3 non-profit, foster based animal rescue. If you would like to meet Luna please complete our adoption questionnaire at www.wishuponarescue.org/adopt. We will review your responses and be in contact to schedule a meet and greet at a time and place convenient for your family and our team members.

Story
Pablo (noun) - a medium length, wire-hair black chihuahua who has ears 5 times too big and legs 5 times too short and stumpy for his body. Might be a chiweenie. See also: loyal, smart, snuggly, energetic, happy stalke-errr we mean shadow; the most well- behaved chihuahua as long as you are not a dog, child, or stranger. Prefers the company of one or two patient adults who have a great sense of humor and prefer a calmer home without too much chaos. He can also share a home with cats, though he will sometimes try to chase them. A Pablo's favorite things include: early morning snuggles in bed, couch snuggles, sunbathing flat on his side looking dead, treats, playing with toys, and spending time with mom and/or dad. Best Skills: - Name Recognition: responds to Pablo, and comes when called even from the backyard when he is barking at the neighbors, the mailman, children playing on the next block, or the wind - Eating (though he can be picky, he likes to keep you on your toes and always guessing what he's going to like each hour) - Potty-Trained! Yes, behold a chihuahua who is potty trained! - Crate-Trained: though he doesn't like it, he will go right in on his own when asked - Sit: sometimes, if he wants to and a collection of other random skills his dog-trainer foster mom has tried to teach him. Okay, so maybe he's not book-smart....NEXT! - Sleeps through the night - next to you in bed and under the blankets of course - Confidence: he prances around like the rightful king of his castle with his own unique strut - Olympic ready: he is a perfect candidate for his favorite activities! sprinting, jumping, murdering stuffed toys, picking pills out of food, playing fetch, and napping - the most muscular, buff chihuahua you will ever meet! so buff in fact, his muscles busted right out of his Hawaiian shirt (which he hated anyways because he doesn't like clothes) - Protects his people: you will never pee or shower alone again! He positions himself with his butt to you or the shower and guards the door for predators while you do your business. He will also protect you from any perceived threat by barking loudly and saying "go away you scary _____(Insert thing thats only scary to Pablo) ____ or else! Leave my mom/dad/furry sister/my house and territory alone right this instant!" What a gentleman! - Stuck-like-glue: being a stalker is not usually a great quality to have unless you weigh 9lbs like Pablo, and then it's okay. He will follow you everywhere! He will sit next to you on the couch, be the big or little spoon at night while you sleep (how versatile!), stare at you while you eat, follow you around the house from room to room. You'll do everything together forever! Quirks: - He is a Chihuahua: he needs someone who understands he's a chihuahua - and he acts like a chihuahua. He does not want to make new friends, he only thinks he wants to go for walks but really doesn't, he barks a lot, he is selectively people friendly - but he also will become your best friend within a few hours time. - He needs a forever home where his new family doesn't like to have people over to visit often, as it really freaks him out to have visitors disrupt the peace of his safe-space aka your home. Are you ready to meet your new tiny best friend? Visit www.wishuponarescue.org/adopt today to find out more about how to join Pablo's inner circle. The adoption fee for Pablo is $400. Story
What’s better than Ezra? Nothing! Ezra is the bestest boy. His foster family has had a lot of dogs and this guy is as good as it gets. He’s the right amount of everything. He’s not a hyper, but will play. He also likes to snuggle too. His hobbies include walks and watching tv. You will have to turn on the captions for him because he’s deaf. The rest of his litter was adopted at the shelter but no one was interested in him. They didn’t want him to grow up in a kennel so they called us. We have a reputation for taking special needs animals. We were happy to scoop him up. He’s really enjoying the comforts of a home. Did we mention that he’s gorgeous? He’s almost pure white with beautiful blue eyes. Everyone that touches him says his fur is the softest they have ever felt. We are working on house training. His crate training is going really well. We are going up start training him hand signal’s. A few positives of owning a deaf dog, fireworks won’t bother him. You can call him anything you want. You can blast music and not worry that it’s going to bother the dog. Play an instrument, he’s cool with that. He won’t bark at every little sound outside. Deaf dogs make great companions and Ezra is ready to prove that. He’s great with dogs and adores kids. He saw a few cats and really wanted to play with them. We think he’s going to be a bigger guy. We don’t know his mix, we think some bully for sure the rest is a mystery. He’s fully vetted and ready for his furever home. 🐾 *Note: his weight is an estimation of his future weight, and not his current weight.* The adoption fee for Ezra is $450. This donation helps to cover veterinary expenses including spay/neuter, microchip and vaccinations. Wish Upon a Rescue is a 501(c)3 non-profit, foster based animal rescue. If you would like to meet Ezra please complete our adoption questionnaire at www.wishuponarescue.org/adopt. Story
Archie is such a special little guy in so many ways that we aren’t sure that writing this bio will do him justice, but we sure are going to try! Archie was found as a skinny stray at six weeks old. At animal control it was quickly discovered that he had a vision impairment, and was clumsy and wobbly on his feet. The Animal Control veterinarian wasn’t quite sure what condition he had specifically, but knew something neurological was going on. When our team met him, and saw how spirited, loving, and happy he was despite his challenges, she knew that WISH had to help him and get him into a foster home. We didn’t know what was going on with him exactly, but we were committed to finding out as much as we could with the help of our veterinary team. Archie has seen our regular veterinarian, as well as an eye specialist. Despite some subtle facial deformities (that somehow just add to his cuteness), and his vision impairment, Archie is a fairly normal developing puppy. It is suspected that he may have cerebellar hypoplasia (which causes him to have a wobbly gait), that has improved as he has grown and gained more muscle (as is typical with cerebellar hypoplasia). If he does have cerebellar hypoplasia, he is pretty steady compared to other dogs and cats with the condition! He can run, jump, and play! In fact, he loves to play so much with other dogs that we are hopeful to find him a home with another playful dog to wrestle around with and play. Although we learned that Archie is blind, you’ll swear that he can see! He is able to quickly map out his surroundings and navigates them well. And if he gets confused, he lets out these little whimpers and cries almost like he is calling mom for help. We happen to find it so darn adorable! Archie is also able to follow sound, which is helpful when he is playing in the yard or can’t see you, but knows you are there. For Archie’s safety we think a home with no stairs or minimal stairs, and a fenced yard would be best. Archie is an incredibly friendly pup who really thinks everyone and everything wants to be his friend. Strangers? Yup! Kids? No doubt! Dogs? You betcha! He’s just a happy, go lucky guy. Which is pretty amazing considering the adversity he has experienced. He romps around with favorite toys, and likes to play chase like any other puppy. He loves a good nap, and is a world class snuggler. He quickly forms attachments with things he uses regularly like his crate, dog bed, and preferred toys, and thrives on routine. This is a skill that can take some dog owners months to train a puppy. But not Archie! He is calm in his crate, and quietly sleeps through the night. He is happy to find his favorite dog bed and take a nap, and is even doing well with housebreaking. Archie comes to find us when he has to go potty, but like any other puppy his age, he will still need support in this area. Archie’s breeds are a mystery to us, but given the area he came from, and his personality, we think it is likely that he is a pitbull or pitbull mix. Regardless of that we do know that he is 100% cute. Our vet thinks he will grow to be about 60 lbs. Archie is a really special boy looking for that special person or special family to share his life with. Every person that meets Archie falls in love with him. He’s got something about him where you just can’t resist his charms. Archie needs a home where he can safely explore and be afforded the opportunity to be his absolutely lovable self. Special needs dogs make outstanding companions and Archie is ready for the challenge. The adoption fee for Archie is $200. This donation helps to cover veterinary expenses including spay/neuter, microchip and vaccinations. Wish Upon a Rescue is a 501(c)3 non-profit, foster based animal rescue. If you would like to meet Archie please complete our adoption questionnaire at www.wishuponarescue.org/adopt. We will review your responses and be in contact to schedule a meet and greet at a time and place convenient for your family and our team member.

Story
We took in Tiny, who is a Pitbull. He lived with our other two pitbulls his whole life and did wonderful with them. He is calm at home, but can be very playful with other dogs and can get excited at first when meeting new people. But he's very friendly. We are moving. We got a 30 day notice to move and can't take him with us. We've not been able to find people who can take him or a place he can go before we move. We need him placed with a good local family as soon as possible.
