Story
Chip came to us from a local animal control facility in October 2022 with his biological mom and bonded pair, Mrs. Potts. Unfortunately, Chip's mom passed away in July 2024 and he has since been learning how to be more independent and enjoy his own interests. Chip is a funny, extremely sweet, and occasionally awkward little guy. He loves to sleep next to his human in bed at night, is very well behaved when left home alone (and is pee pad trained), and enjoys lounging around in any comfy dog bed, couch, or human bed available. Chip had dental surgery in August 2024 and has just a few teeth left. Chip has had no issues with cats or dogs of any size and will snuggle with the right one. He doesn't have a mean bone in his body. Chip walks with a limp/abnormal gait due to knee issues and takes pain medication as needed but this does not slow him down from walks, running, or doing stairs. Chip is being fostered in a Chicago suburb.

Story
Meet Vaughn - an introverted extrovert in canine form...  this handsome boy is sweet and playful with the reserved disposition that middle age brings.  A pup that LOVES  his walks, but only half as much as he loves his naps.   In the home, Vaughn is a complete gentleman - housebroken, crate trained, and knows all of his basic commands. A little shadow that will happily watch over his family.   A tad shy when meeting new people, he warms up quickly.  When excited, however, he tends to be a little mouthier than most in his play style.  Because of this, we recommend a home with older children or a home with no children at all.   Vaughn likes dogs, but can be selective.  He has no problem sharing his food with his humans, but can guard his food bowl and treats from other dogs.  Because of this, we think he would be best as an only dog or with a family that can manage feeding him separately.  As for cats...  the Plott Hound in him would love to chase them all up a tree.   If you think our little wallflower sounds like the dog for you, please contact his trainer (Kseniya) today at 847.338.3252 or info@redemptionroadinc.org  to schedule your private meet and greet. Story
Meet Nero, a magnificent 2.5 year-old male German Shepherd in search of his forever home. This handsome boy, a purebred from the Czech Republic, boasts a striking  black coat that gleams in the sunlight. Nero is a large, powerful dog in his prime, with a heart to match his impressive stature, eager to find a family he can shower with love and protection. At his young adult age, Nero has the perfect blend of youthful energy and emerging maturity. His personality is a delightful mix of sweetness and playfulness, typical of a shepherd entering his prime years. He thrives on human companionship, always eager to be by your side and partake in family activities. His affectionate nature truly shines once he's comfortable, rewarding his chosen person with unwavering loyalty and a breathtaking smile that will melt your heart. Nero isn't shy about expressing himself either – expect some endearing whines and vocalizations as he communicates his love for you. While Nero likes other dogs, he can be a bit selective on their personalities. He could do well in a home with another dog if they're compatible. He should not be with cats, though.   Despite his young age, Nero has already mastered some important skills that will make his transition to a new home smoother. He's crate-trained, walks nicely on a leash, and is even muzzle-trained for situations that might require it.  Nero needs an experienced owner who understands the breed and can provide consistent training and guidance.  He has the protective instincts of a typical German Shepherd, and potential adopters should be willing to work with a reactive dog.  Nero needs a patient owner who can help him navigate new experiences and continue his training to ensure he becomes the best version of himself. The ideal home for Nero would be with adults only, preferably with previous German Shepherd experience. He needs a family who understands his need for mental and physical stimulation, as well as his protective nature.  If you're ready to welcome a loyal, loving companion into your life and are prepared for the responsibility of owning a large, intelligent breed in his prime years, Nero might be the perfect match for you. Are you ready to give this handsome boy the loving forever home he deserves and grow together for years to come? To ask about Nero, please contact us directly by calling 847-338-3252 or email info@redemptionroadinc.org. Story
Looking for a big bundle of love and energy? Say hello to Paris, a charismatic two-year-old Staffordshire Terrier-Labrador Retriever mix who's ready to bound into your life and heart! This handsome brindle boy weighs in at a cuddly 75 pounds and has a personality as big as his paws. Paris adores all humans, and has been around kids of all ages. His affectionate nature shines through in his love for snuggling and his generous distribution of kisses. When it's playtime, Paris is always up for a good wrestling match, though he's learned to mind his manners and stops play-biting when asked. This energetic fellow thrives on companionship and would make a fantastic partner for an active household. He gets along swimmingly with other high-energy dogs, making him a great playmate for canine siblings. While he does tend to chase cats, he could live with one with proper introductions and training. Speaking of training, Paris is an intelligent boy with a good foundation. He comes when called, showing off his excellent recall skills. His puppy-like enthusiasm means he still has some learning to do though. He'd benefit from an owner who is willing to continue his training and provide the mental stimulation and physical activity he craves. Paris is the perfect blend of playful and affectionate. His zest for life is infectious, and he's ready to fill your days with fun, love, and maybe a few slobbery kisses.
