Story
Vaughn is our longest term pup -  an introverted extrovert that came to us almost three years ago in VERY rough shape.  When he arrived he was skin and bones and terrified of the world.  He would guard his food from other dogs and wouldn't let strangers approach him.  With a lot of patience and work - this boy has made a complete turnaround!   Vaughn is still a little shy with strangers, but after a quick sniff and a treat he's your best friend.  In the home, this 70 pound pup thinks he's a lap dog and is always trying to curl up next to you.  He currently lives with multiple small dogs and is doing very well - but will definitely chase a cat if given the opportunity (that's the hound in him).   He loves to play with other dogs...  but prefers calmer personalities that won't try to bully him.  Vaughn is sweet and playful with the reserved disposition that middle age brings.  A pup that LOVES his walks, but only half as much as he loves his naps.   He's got a smidge of cattle dog in him as well and tends to be a bit mouthier and will herd his friends when he plays so an adult only home or a home with kids over 12 would be ideal.   If you think our little wallflower sounds like the dog for you, please contact his trainer (Kseniya) today at 847.338.3252 or info@redemptionroadinc.org  to schedule your private meet and greet. Story
Meet Nero, a magnificent 2.5 year-old male German Shepherd in search of his forever home. This handsome boy, a purebred from the Czech Republic, boasts a striking  black coat that gleams in the sunlight. Nero is a large, powerful dog in his prime, with a heart to match his impressive stature, eager to find a family he can shower with love and protection. At his young adult age, Nero has the perfect blend of youthful energy and emerging maturity. His personality is a delightful mix of sweetness and playfulness, typical of a shepherd entering his prime years. He thrives on human companionship, always eager to be by your side and partake in family activities. His affectionate nature truly shines once he's comfortable, rewarding his chosen person with unwavering loyalty and a breathtaking smile that will melt your heart. Nero isn't shy about expressing himself either – expect some endearing whines and vocalizations as he communicates his love for you. While Nero likes other dogs, he can be a bit selective on their personalities. He could do well in a home with another dog if they're compatible. He should not be with cats, though.   Despite his young age, Nero has already mastered some important skills that will make his transition to a new home smoother. He's crate-trained, walks nicely on a leash, and is even muzzle-trained for situations that might require it.  Nero needs an experienced owner who understands the breed and can provide consistent training and guidance.  He has the protective instincts of a typical German Shepherd, and potential adopters should be willing to work with a reactive dog.  Nero needs a patient owner who can help him navigate new experiences and continue his training to ensure he becomes the best version of himself. The ideal home for Nero would be with adults only, preferably with previous German Shepherd experience. He needs a family who understands his need for mental and physical stimulation, as well as his protective nature.  If you're ready to welcome a loyal, loving companion into your life and are prepared for the responsibility of owning a large, intelligent breed in his prime years, Nero might be the perfect match for you. Are you ready to give this handsome boy the loving forever home he deserves and grow together for years to come? To ask about Nero, please contact us directly by calling 847-338-3252 or email info@redemptionroadinc.org. _____Redemption Road Rescue RehabBehavioral Dog Adopter Support ProgramAs a rescue specializing in behavioral rehabilitation, we deeply value adopters who open their hearts and homes to our behavioral dogs. Story
Meet Ronnie, a quirky, goofy little guy with a heart full of love just waiting to be shared! Ronnie is a vocal fella who’s not shy about letting you know he’s there—especially when he wants head or booty scratches! He’s a bit of a character with a cute, funny walk, but it only adds to his charm. He’s crate-trained, getting better on a leash, and loves his toys, bones, and warm blankets to curl up in. Ronnie is looking for someone patient who’s ready to take the time to earn his trust. While he may take a little time to warm up to new people, once he does, he’ll show how much love he has to give. Once he's comfortable, he also loves to be carried .  Ronnie is very food-motivated and enjoys training. He’s on his way to becoming a pro at housebreaking.  He’s great with cats and likes dogs, too, though he can be a little feisty around bigger dogs. He’d do best in a home with older, considerate children. He's looking for a family who will help him build his confidence. In return, Ronnie will reward you with affection, loyalty, and plenty of adorable quirks. To ask about Ronnie, please contact us directly by calling 847-338-3252 or email info@redemptionroadinc.org.
