Story
Lyla is ready to find her forever home! This beautiful girl was taken to a local shelter once her owner passed away. She was matted and very dirty, but as sweet as can be. When we saw her, we knew that we had to have her! Lyla joined the SAYv family and fit right in. Her foster mama says that she is a total sweetie. She has cataracts and appears to be fully blind. Otherwise she is in relatively good shape for her age and still has life left in her. She would be a great companion if you're looking for someone to relax with you and watch TV, but still have enough energy to go on a walk :) Lyla has done well with the other foster sibling doggies as well. Please consider applying to adopt this adorable senior, you won't regret it! Apply to adopt Lyla here: sayvanimals.org/adopt (PLEASE NOTE: Despite what Petfinder, AdoptaPet and other aggregation services say, the FIRST STEP is to submit an application through our website, not send us a message through their online platform. Please submit an application if you'd like to be considered for adoption. Thank you!)

Story
Our family took in Tobias after the loss of a family member and unfortunately we don't have the time or finances to continue caring for him due to a severe medical condition our daughter was just diagnosed with. He is 2 years old, full of energy, and a super smart sweet boy but would probably be best in a home that has older/no children and no other pets. He gets too excited in our home when our kids get loud or too much is going on around him. He is crate trained and for the most part potty trained but does have accidents in the house if he is not let out every few hours and/or on demand. We do not have any shot records on him due to his owners passing and he is not neutered. We love him so much and are sad to have to re-home him, however we just want to be able to find him a loving home that's going to be able to give him the life he deserves.

Story
Meet Howie, a sweet and loyal companion ready to steal your heart! This charming pup adores cuddling and will happily be your shadow, always checking in to make sure you’re by his side. Howie is wonderfully gentle and gets along with kids, cats, and dogs of all sizes, though he may need a little time to warm up to larger canine friends. He’s also a leash-walking pro and loves playful adventures—tennis balls are his absolute favorite! Howie thrives with structure and consistency. He’s housebroken but may have an occasional accident if not let out on time (he’s an old man and dogs should be let out on time anyway!). Howie does enjoy a good trash can treasure hunt, so a secure setup is key. This clever boy can open slightly ajar doors and will let you know when he needs water or a snack. While Howie is an escape artist at heart, keeping him on a leash or in a secure yard ensures he stays safe. Howie’s love for his people is boundless. Whether he’s lounging with you or playing chase with a puppy, he brings joy to every moment. He’s ready for a family who appreciates his quirks and will give him the love and attention he deserves. If you’re looking for a loyal and playful best friend, Howie is your guy. Looking to add a senior pup like Howie to your family? Apply to adopt here: sayvanimals.org/adopt (PLEASE NOTE: Despite what Petfinder, AdoptaPet and other aggregation services state, the FIRST STEP is to submit an application through our website, not send us a message through their platform. Thank you!)

Story
Hi there my name is Huey and I am a Chihuahua/Schnauzer/Terrier mix about 7 years old. I have been in the rescue for quite some time as it takes me a little time to trust people. I was abused in my past so on my initial meet and greets with new people I am unsure and sudden movements make me scared. Once I get to know you and trust you you can't get rid of me. Once we are BFFs, I am the most loyal, fun, sassy and most of all cuddly friend. I am looking for my forever home with somebody who is either a stay at home, work from home, or retired as I like to be with my people as much as possible. I am completely up to date on my vetting which includes neutered, rabies vaccine, distemper vaccine, bordetella, negative fecal, negative heartworm, and microchipped. If interested in meeting me please go to the rescue's website www.atailof4paws.org and fill out the application. Once completed email or scan to rescue@atailof4paws.org
