Story
Banks is fostered in Ottumwa, Iowa.  Say hello to this handsome and INCREDIBLY sweet boy named Banks. Banks is a male, standard aussie, weighing about 40 lbs and is estimated around 5 years old.  Banks is being fostered with many other dogs and does wonderfully.  Banks is a SWEET boy and would love nothing more than a home with plenty of love and another dog friend.  Banks has great house manners; is crate trained and house trained.  Prior to coming into rescue, his coat was in rough shape with matting and had to be shaved.  His coat is returning nicely and he looks remarkable compared to several months ago. Banks goes to doggie daycare and plays well with many other dogs. Banks will chill after a fair amount of play, and chew on antlers or bones.  Banks is from a breeder who was giving away a massive amount of dogs from his property and based on this, he was not well socialized,.  Banks is a little timid and shy, but learning SO MUCH.  He does seek out pets from his foster home and even gives a few kisses.  He also sleeps in the bed with other dogs and does VERY well being left out in the house.    Banks will do best with another outgoing, social dog in the home to take cues from.  Banks does require a physical fencing, preferred to be 6 foot.  Banks is even good with cats.  Little kids may scare Banks, so no children under 10 years of age is recommended for his adoptive home.   Banks is neutered, microchipped, up-to-date on all vaccines (including Lyme) and is receiving monthly preventatives for fleas, ticks and heartworms.  Proof of heartworm preventatives for all past and current pets is required to adopt from us.  If you have what it takes to help Banks blossom into the bestest boy, please visit our website for more information on our adoption process, see our adoption fees, and find a link to our adoption application.  www.MidwestAustralianShepherdRescue.org.   ##1850267##

Story
Allie is fostered in Portage, IN.   This little rolly polly is Allie.  Don't tell her we called her that because she's been dieting and taking her weightloss journey very serious.  She packed on a few pounds at her former home because the little one's started arriving and she then became less of a priority.  Allie is an incredibly sweet mini aussie female that is 8 years young and SHOULD weigh about 28--35 lbs at her ideal weight.   Allie came to us quite overweight so she's been working hard at shedding those extra pounds. Allie has a delightful girl with a sweet personality.  She is in a foster home with dogs of all sizes and ages and does excellent with them.  She hasn't met any kitties, but we think she would do ok with a dog-savvy cat.  Allie is, however, terrified of tiny humans.  Her adoptive home should be one without little kiddos present or that do not visit often. Children over age 12 are recommended.   Allie is accustomed to the good life - she does enjoy her bones, her car rides, her treats and sleeping on the bed in her foster home - as any great princess should.  Allie would love a more laid back retirement home, if you will, where she can continue her walks (exercise) and a little playtime in the back yard.  Allie is crate trained, but does great being left out.  She is potty trained as well.  She has also done well for grooming Allie is spayed, up-to-date on all vaccinations, microcrhipped and receiving monthly preventatives for fleas, ticks and heartworms.  Proof of heartworm purchase for any current or former pets is required to adopt from our rescue.  If you feel this princess is just what you're looking for, please visit our website for more information.  www.MidwestAustralianShepherdRescue..  org ##1966673##

Story
Magyk is being fostered in Cuba MO Meet Magyk! This stunning red tri 2 year old male Mini American Shepherd (Mini Aussie) is ready for his forevers! He weighs 37lbs.  This little rascal is ready to enjoy the finer things in life. He spent many weeks roaming as a scared stray, running from any human physical contact. After an experienced trapper successfully caught him and lots of decompression with his foster mom, he’s really begun to come out of his shell.  Magyk has adjusted very well to home life and loves it!  He is learning so many great things, like people come with treats, playtime is super fun!  He is still learning to walk on leash.  He rides in a crate in the car and does well.  He was a good boy at the vet too! Magyk is looking for a family who is patient and understands that he will take some time to openly trust. Once you’ve passed the vibe check, he is the funniest guy! He loves crunchy treats, zooming around, and wiggle butt scratches. He is quite the affectionate guy!!!  Magyk’s forever home MUST have a physically fenced yard and he would do best in a home with a confident dog that he can look to for social cues with humans and play with. Due to still being scared of unpredictability, Magyk would do best in a home with older or no children. Magyk is neutered, negative for all tick borne diseases, up to date on vaccinations, microchipped and ready to learn to love.  If this shy hunk of love is the perfect fit for your family, please submit an adoptio application today by going to our website https://midwestaustralianshepherdrescue.org/home/ ##2021984##

Story
THE HONORABLE BARNEY FIFE IS FOSTERED IN ST LOUIS, MISSOURI. The Honorable Barney Fife came to us from a shelter in Kansas.  He is a gorgeous black tri male, approximately 3-4 year old, who weighs just under 40 lbs.  He is ready for his next adventure after being a stray and nobody claiming him. Barney is just a boy who LOVES his people.  He loves to be super close to his humans and gets very excited when seeing them.  He would to best in a home with someone that is home more often than not.  Barney is not a big fan of his crate.  He does well being left out of the crate for periods of time.  He is house trained and has good house manners.   Barney would LOVE to be the center of your attention and not have to compete for it.  While Barney is in a foster with other dogs, he would be best with submissive dogs his own size.  He is learning how to play with toys.  Barney is VERY food motivated and we would suggest an adopter that would be willing to complete some basic obedience with him.  We recommend a home with a physical fence and one without small children.   Barney is neutered, up-to-date on all vaccinations, microchipped and receiving monthly preventatives for fleas, ticks and heartworms.  NOTE:  Proof of monthly prevention is required for all prior or current dogs to be approved to adopt with our rescue.   If you are interested in this gorgeous boy and can give him his next adventure, please visit our website for more information on our adoption process, our adoption fees and a link to our addoption application.   ##2005999##

Story
Rue is being fostered in Vandalia IL Meet Rue.  This 60lb. STUNNING silky soft coated black tri male Australian Shepherd is looking for his forever home.  He is affectionate, sweet and oh so loving with his people.  Rue came to rescue because his previous home had a significant change in jobs and needed to travel for work way to often to be able to provide time with him. Rue is well trained with tons of skills!  He knows sit, down, stay, wait, leave it, and so many more.  He has EXCELLENT house manners and doesn't need to be crated when no one is home. He also enjoys riding in the car.  Rue needs a home with another smaller dog or to be the only pup.  He doesn't like to share his human and can be a bit protective of his human from other dogs.  He will need someone that is dog savvy and has good leadership like any other Aussie owner.  He walks well on a leash too! He is currently in a home with another Aussie and they don't see eye to eye, but he also has a small 4 legged foster sibling (Feist, small hunting dog) and she is the BOSS and they co-exist without incident.  In his previous home, Rue would go to doggie daycare for half days and had a great time!  Rue would like a quieter home with no children, no cats, maybe another dog but it would depend on the dog, and a fenced backyard of his own, or someone that would walk him each day, play with him, and occupy his mind with some mental stimulation like tricks or hide and seek.  He would be absolutely perfect for a retired couple or person that wants a well trained dog.  He would really thrive in that kind of environment.  If Rue sounds like the sidekick for you, please complete an adoption application today at https://midwestaustralianshepherdrescue.org/home/adoption-application/ ##2048348##

Story
Ellie Mae is being fostered in Marion, WI. This sweet girl, Ellie Mae. will be a fantastic addition to your family. She is a 1 ½ year old female black tri Australian Shepherd. She weighs approximately 35 pounds and is sweet as pie. She came to the rescue with her sibling when the owner’s health was failing. Both girls were very well socialized and have wonderful personalities. Ellie Mae knows basic commands and is very food motivated. She is house trained but does need to stay on a constistent schedule.  She is also crate trained. She does not need to be crated at night and sleeps on the bed until morning with no issues. Ellie Mae is currently living with 2 foster sisters and does well with other dogs. She does like to be the “Bossy Aussie” with the dominant female but nothing terrible (pretty typical of the breed). She also has other 2 and 4 legged friends at her foster home like horses, chickens and cats. She does fine with catsif they are dog savvy and takes the corrections from them nicely.  She loves to cuddle on the couch with her person at night and is very well mannered. Ellie Mae loves being outdoors and has recently found a new love for water. Ellie Mae is spayed, microchipped, up to date on all vaccinations and receiving monthly preventatives for fleas, ticks and heartworms. She does require a committed adopter who is willing to devote 1 - 2 hours of mental and physical stimulation per day.   NOTE:  All of our dogs live in foster homes with volunteers so we need an approved application on file to set up a meet with a dog you might have an interest in.  Please visit our website for more information on our adoption process, our adoption fees and a link to our adoption application.  We pride ourselves on matches that work for both the dog and your family.  MASR is here for your support, advice and safety net for our dogs for the remainder of their lives.  www.MidwestAustralianShepherdRescue.org ##2056435##
