Story
Bugsy Malone is a chiweenie (Chihuahua/dachshund) who is 8-pounds and 7-years-old. Bugsy has the typical big Doxie voice, so he shouldn't go anywhere with shared walls (I.e apartments, condos). He likes to cuddle, will play with other small dogs and toys, watch television while in your lap, walks well on a leash, and likes to cruise around in the car with you. But, he needs a really secure harness as he is a Houdini with many harnesses. Please apply here: https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/DBSR/Dog His minimum adoption donation amount is $295. He is neutered, up-to-date on vaccinations, microchipped, dewormed, heart worm checked, and on flea/tick and heart worm preventatives. We are located in Bloomington, IL We do not ship, you would need to travel to pick up your babies if you live out of state. Your current pets must be up-to-date on core vaccines, spayed/neutered, and on heart worm prevention year round. You must be at least 21-years-old to adopt. Please have your veterinarian and two non-family reference phone numbers ready. The app makes you start all over if you leave the page to look up numbers. Story
Meet Gidget, a 7-year-old Australian Cattle Dog/Pit Bull Mix weighing 46 pounds. Timid at first, but quick to warm up, she transforms into a wiggly-tailed, affectionate companion. She loves being petted and thinks she's a lap dog, playfully booping your hand if you stop. Her foster mom describes her as special, emphasizing Gidget's impeccable behavior, loyalty, and adaptability to various activities. This sweetheart's foster mom is proud to say that Gidget is getting much braver.  She used to hide upstairs when the family cooked and ate because of the noise, and she’ll now lay peacefully on the couch, doesn’t beg for food, and just watches TV with the family. She really loves routines and learns them very quickly - she has also became more food motivated. Gidget is calm, cuddly, and will follow you around and lay at your feet. She has a very happy and wiggly bottom, does a happy tap dance when given attention, and just super-loves her humans. Although Gidget loves humans, she needs to be the only dog in the home. Gidget thrives outdoors and on walks, demonstrating impeccable leash manners and regularly checking in with her walker. She loves running outside and often gets the "zoomies." She also loves playing fetch. Despite lacking formal commands, Gidget is incredibly well-behaved, calm, and quiet, with no exhibited prey drive—even in the presence of pet rats. In search of a loving home with a fenced yard, Gidget is ready to blossom with the right person or family. Her foster mom thinks she'll be great with kids, but believes she'll be most comfortable in a quieter home with children over 10 years old. She is a unique and special dog, eagerly awaiting the chance to become a cherished member of a lucky household. Gidget's adoption and McLean County Registration fees have been sponsored by one of her admirers.   She has been spayed, microchipped, vaccinated, heartworm checked, dewormed, and is on flea and heartworm preventatives. Story
Taz is a 1-year-old Rat Terrier/Chihuahua mix. He's a very thin 8-pounds, but he's already filling out with good food and lots of love. Taz was terrified at animal control, and with his foster for the first couple of days. He needs to figure out you're not trying to hurt him, and then he will come BEGGING for the love and belly rubs. He still gets a little overstimulated at times. So, you just have to follow his signals. He will crawl into your lap and lick your face until you're sure you have no face left. Ha! No young children in the home please. This poor guy has suffered enough in his short life. All he needs is a loving home with pawrents who can continue to help his trust of people grow every day. Taz gets along well with other small dogs, is pretty quiet so far, and rides fine in a car. He does well on a leash also. Taz has really come out of his shell. He loves playing with other small dogs, and has filled out nicely. He is now a healthy 10-pounds. This young cutie is going to make someone very happy! Apply today Please apply here: https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/DBSR/Dog His minimum adoption donation amount is $325. He is neutered, up-to-date on vaccinations, microchipped, dewormed, heart worm checked, and on flea/tick and heart worm preventatives. Story
Say hello to Tucker! He is a 1.5-year-old, 9-pound goofball of a Chihuahua. When he and his siblings first came to rescue, they were scared and confused. None had proper socialization with people. But, they already loved other dogs! Soon, treats, patience, love, and more treats, won them over. None of the kiddos are bonded. But, we are never adverse to more than one going to the same home. We give discounts for that! Please apply here: https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/DBSR/Dog His minimum adoption donation amount is $325. He is neutered, up-to-date on vaccinations, microchipped, dewormed, heart worm checked, and on flea/tick and heart worm preventatives.
