Story
This is Poppy, a 1 yr old german shepherd mix. This tripod is super energetic and very loving. She gets along with other dogs, and cats, but a home with smaller children may not be the best place for her. Unfortunately she is being rehomed as she just wasn’t a good fit with recent changes to our work-life balance. Please contact me with any questions you may have, or further details. *Any serious inquiries will be forwarded to the Idaho German Shepherd Rescue as they will take over ensuring she will go to the perfect home.

Story
Gordita is the sweetest little bulldozer of a dog! She is a gorgeous pit bull mix and she’s got the muscle and strength to prove it! Gordita is a big lover and just wants all the attention from her person and once she settles down from all her initial excitement, she will cuddle up for her favorite belly rubs!! Gordita can be a bit dog reactive here at the shelter with selective dogs so she would do best in a home without other animals, however, in the right circumstance, and proper introductions, meeting another dog is not off the table. She just likes to be the center of attention! Gordita loves destroying toys so he is only allowed to have the indestructible toys here at the shelter! She is also a big foodie and will devour any and all food and treats offered to her! (This makes training a breeze for her being so food motivated!) Gordita knows her basic commands but would definitely benefit from additional work on training! Gordita has lots of energy and would do great with an active owner that will take her on lots of walks and hikes and outdoor adventures! She would also do best with someone who can handle her strength and size! Gordita knows how to get the attention by giving you the biggest saddest puppy dog face ever! She’s mastered the art of the puppy dog face and will absolutely melt your heart! If you would like to meet Gordita, please call us at (509) 332-3422 to schedule an appointment. You can also email us at staff@whitmanpets.org! Gordita is spayed, microchipped, and up to date on all of her vaccines. Her adoption fee is $175.

Story
Dako is a special guy waiting for his special person. Due to his traumatic past, he is shy around new people and a bit selective when it comes to making friends. His ideal future owner will take the time to get to know him and build a trusting relationship. Once Dako trusts you, it truly is so special! He just wants to cuddle in your lap and walk right by your side. Dako has shown some dog reactivity and a high prey drive. For these reasons, we would like to see him go to an adult-only household where he is the only pet. Our vets believe that when Dako was a puppy he had joint malformation which required splints. It seems that Dako never got those splints causing his joints to develop poorly which means he walks a little funny and might have some joint pain. This goofy guy just wants a fresh start with the right person who will love him as he is! Dako is neutered, microchipped, and up to date on all of his vaccines. Please call 590-332-3422

Story
Oklahoma and her brother Kentucky were found running wild covered in porcupine quills! They approached their finder and jumped right into the truck, ready to get rid of those quills and find a loving home. Oklahoma is a sweet girl who is building her confidence in her foster home. She does great with kids and other dogs! She has shown interest in cats and just needs some gentle reminders to leave them alone. Oklahoma loves to sleep in her kennel and will remind you when it’s bedtime! Oklahoma is great on the leash and has experience tagging along for fieldwork and knows to stay close. For a young dog, she gets wiped out pretty quickly and jumps into the car when she’s ready to go home. If you’re looking for a sweet family dog who can go everywhere with you, Oklahoma might be your girl! Oklahoma is spayed, microchipped, and up to date on vaccines. Please call us at 509-332-3422 or email us at staff@whitmanpets.org to make an appointment to meet Oklahoma!

Story
Apollo is a handsome senior Alaskan Husky with piercing blue eyes. Typical to his breed, he has a beautiful singing voice and he can be a little picky about his food. He’s a very polite guy who loves to cuddle and walks calmly on a leash. Apollo has some arthritis, but has no problem jumping a fence if he wants out! Apollo’s ideal owner would be someone who will prioritize his enrichment, keep his husky brain busy, brush him regularly, and maintain his luxurious coat. Apollo got professionally groomed recently and the groomer said he was among her top 5 husky experiences! If you’re looking for a well behaved senior dog, Apollo could be the man for you! Apollo is neutered, microchipped, and up to date on his vaccinations. Please call 509-332-3422 or email us at staff@whitmanpets.org to schedule an appointment to meet Apollo!
