Story
Lucy is a very sweet 8-year-old smart Lab/Retriever Mix. She was rescued from the humane society in Sandpoint, ID at 12 weeks old. She joined two cats I had at the time and did amazing. She loves all her cats and would do well in a home with other cats. She is definitely the alpha of the house and did open up to the idea of having another dog in the home. Before the other dog was rescued, Lucy was introduced to him and decided he would be a good little brother. If other dogs would be in the home, it would be a good idea for Lucy to meet them first to see if they would get along. Lucy loves to play fetch and will do anything for her food/treat. She is kennel trained and feels it is a safe place for her. She hates fireworks and thunderstorms and will find the closet in the home to hide when these occur. She loves to sleep in bed with the humans. She does not do well off leash; however, I think with some training she would improve. She would do great with a fenced yard.

Story
Balu is 5 years old and was adopted at the Kootenai Human Society when he was 10 months old. He was named after the big bear on Jungle Book. He is very sweet and eager to please his owner. He joined 4 cats and another dog. Balu loves his blankets and loves to suckle on them when he is relaxing inside. His house has a fenced in yard. He does great on walks; however, he has not been walked regularly recently and would need some re-training in this area as well as with some commands. He does not do good off leash without a fence. He does not play fetch very well as he never brings back the ball. He would love to sleep in bed with you, however he can get loud with his snoring. The best home for Balu would be a with another bigger dog that he could play with. His sister currently does not like to play, and he has been desperate to play with another dog. I think younger owner(s) would be best. I think with a little patience and love he will get back to his routine.

Story
Bandit's adventure spirit brings joy to everyone in his life. Though dealt a bad deck of cards previously, this awesome dog is living his best life.  The injury is unknown, and we were never able to get any real information, so we just concentrate on his care.  Our doctors all agree he is not in pain. We just keep him comfortable and enjoying life.   Bandit likes playing with the other dogs, he is super fast on his wheels and loves to go on runs thru the woods. He is a champion cuddler.   He will come with his chair and ski mods, and we can do some training if you are wanting to adopt this special guy, but are not sure about the aids and how they help with the day to day.  He doesn't need his chair all the time. He spends most of the time out of it, actually.  He has some use of his legs, and gets around the yard quite well.  Check out his videos! Here is what his foster mom has to say:  Sweet and pretty chill. Lots of naps and doesn’t like getting off the couch in the mornings lol he gets zoomies like other dogs just a little wobbly lol. Loves car rides and his daily walks. Gets along with other dogs. Will chase cats.   The adoption fee is $175 and Bandit has all his vaccinations, microchip, neuter and more. ##940630##

Story
Whitey was born July 5, 2020. I got her when she was about 6 weeks old from MT. She is a smart, loving dog yet still very hyper and too demanding for me at this time. All is wants is loving interaction with people; to run in a large yard and play fetch; be in a house where she can freely roam. Whitey needs little work on her manners but really is well behaved and listens well. I am leaving the area and need to find a good home for her, with lots of love and attention. She does well with medium dogs or bigger, but the tiny dogs seem to get to aggressive around her and she doesn't know how to act. She rides well in vehicles and loves to run in wide empty places. She behaves well with leash on but prefers to walk beside you without one on. Like I said she listens well and just wants to please. Whitey is in Spokane and not Rathdrum as profile says fyi
