Potential adopters with a standard 8-hour workday must be willing to make arrangements to meet the needs of their puppy.  Piglet is Looking For: Hiya! I’m Piglet! I’m on the hunt for a forever home full of toys to chase, zoomies to run, and snuggles to steal in between playtime. When I’m a little older, I can’t wait to sniff out new adventures on walks, make lots of doggie friends, and show off how clever I am in puppy class. So…do you have a little room in your heart (and your lap) for me? What My Foster Says About Me: We will update this section once she has arrived in the D.C. area and spent some time with her foster family. Puppy Vetting Requirements:        Lucky Puppies have had their age appropriate vaccines, but may not yet be “fully” vaccinated. It is the adopter’s responsibility to ensure that the remaining puppy vaccines are given at the appropriate time. Please also keep in mind that, until your puppy is fully vaccinated, they are at greater risk for illness than an adult dog.      Due to this puppy’s young age, she/he has not yet been spayed or neutered.  As part of the adoption contract, it will be your responsibility, as the adopter, to ensure that this is done no later than APRIL 17, 2026. There are NO EXCEPTIONS and NO EXTENSIONS to this date. A non-refundable spay/neuter deposit will be collected if you would like Lucky Dog to pay for this animal to be spayed/neutered at one of our low cost partner vets.   Your new puppy will need to work on their house training and will also need to go to obedience school so they can grow into a well-socialized dog!  TO ADOPT:       The adoption fee for this puppy is $485, which includes the cost of routine vetting and transport from the shelter.    If you are interested in adopting, please complete the Adoption Questionnaire online bit.ly/adoptaluckydog   Lucky Dog Animal Rescue does our best to provide accurate information about the dogs we have for adoption. Story
Harriet is an adorable and snuggly little girl. She was abandoned by someone who opened their car door and let her out at a dog park and drove away! She loves to sleep at the foot of the bed, enjoys long walks but also likes to be a couch potato. She is great with the resident small dog--super respectful with him and follows his lead. She's met bigger dogs on the street that she's been fine with. She does have a little bit of separation anxiety. It was worse when she first arrived in care, but she seems to understand she is safe now so she whines for a minute or so when you leave and also when you get back because she's relieved and happy! She barks when people come to the door but is otherwise chill. She gets along great with the resident cat. Harriet really is a little gem who just wants to be cuddled, loved and fed--she does like to chow down ;-) She would make a great second dog--super easy and she loves to cuddle next to her foster brother. But she is also fine to go on her own as she is very motivated to be next to her human.

Potential adopters with a standard 8-hour workday must be willing to make arrangements to meet the needs of their puppy.  DR. COLA is Looking For:        Hiya!!! I'm Dr. COLA, and while I've loved living with my siblings Dr. Bubbles and Dr. Pepper in our puppy pile, I'm ready to bust out and find my own home! First, let me make a couple of things clear. I do not have a doctorate, I am not drinkable (although I am utterly luscious and delicious), but I am really willing and able to learn anything and experience the world!! I'd like to find a family who takes nice sniffy walks, likes to take me to the dog park, and to obedience school! Maybe I could actually GET a doctorate in doggy stuff (think how PROUD you'll be of me), but just so you know, as I said, I do not have one yet. So we could take some great walks, hit the dog park, head home, curl up on the couch, watch some TV (your choice of show) and then break out the kibble for a simply scrumptious meal! How great does that sound? And then the next day, we could do it all again!! What do you say?
