Story
Meet Marco, a three-year-old, 50-pound bundle of joy with a heart-melting smile and an incredibly soft coat. His DNA results reveal an amazing blend of 17 different breeds, showcasing his unique and charming personality. Marco was discovered as a stray in rural North Carolina in November 2021, spending 17 months in a shelter confined to a kennel. Despite the challenging start to his life, he has shown remarkable resilience and is now thriving in his foster home in Connecticut, where he has been since March 2023, making him our longest resident ever. Marco is a true cuddle enthusiast, loving nothing more than to snuggle up next to his humans. He enjoys sleeping in bed and will settle in for the night, making sure to snuggle under a cozy blanket that he paws at to get just right. Playtime is Marco's favorite—he's a pro at zoomies, fetch, and tug of war, and his joy is contagious. He’s also highly intelligent and enjoys engaging activities like snuffle mats, food puzzles, and lick mats. Marco is always ready for an adventure and walks well on a leash. He gets along well with other dogs and is also fine with cats, making him a great companion for a multi-pet household. While Marco has made great strides since leaving the shelter, he is nervous around new people and needs time to build trust. Once he feels secure, he forms strong bonds and is incredibly loving. Marco needs an adult-only home, as children make him anxious. He requires a patient and experienced adopter willing to work with him on his reactivity to strangers and his tendency to get overstimulated. He has already learned to sit, and he is house and crate trained. His adoption fee is $350, and he is vaccinated, microchipped, heartworm negative, and neutered. Story
Guinness is a one-year-old, 48 lb. plott hound/pittie mix with the most stunning brindle coat, precious smile, and dark brown eyes. He came to our rescue from Texas with his sister who was quickly adopted. The pair were saved from euthanasia with just hours left before taking the long journey to Connecticut. He has been with us since October 2023 and is anxiously waiting for a loving family of his very own! Being one of our LONGEST RESIDENTS, Guinness has been waiting a VERY long time to be adopted! We do not understand why as he checks all the GOOD BOY boxes: - Good with other dogs - Good with kids of all ages - House & crate trained - Knows a variety of commands (sit, stay, down, come, bedtime) - Friendly & social - Rides well in the car Guinness' tail never stops wagging and he just adores his playtime, being with his people, lounging by the fire, and swimming in the pool, and chasing his toys. He is a total lap dog who loves to snuggle and give hugs and kisses. He's super playful and loves to run around and explore. He's a complete mush and ready to be anyone's BFF! He's currently in foster with another pup, whom he loves so having a furry friend would make him very happy. He must go to a home with a fenced yard. His adoption fee is $400 and Guinness is vaccinated, microchipped, heartworm negative, and neutered. He does suffer from allergies so he needs monthly injections to manage that. Story
Meet Eli, a sweet one-year-old, 40 lb. German Shepherd with quite a story to tell. He was found down south with a pellet lodged in his spine...yes, that's right, somebody actually shot this precious pup! Despite knowing only cruelty from humans in the past, Eli has thrived under the care of his current foster family, now on Long Island. Eli is very sweet and loves to play with toys. He is a happy boy who loves affection and knows exactly the right time to howl in the song, “Werewolves of London!” He likes the company of other dogs but has never been around cats. Now, Eli needs a very special person...he can walk but does suffer from some internal paralysis resulting in mild bladder and bowel dysfunction. Will you be the one to save this handsome deserving soul and give him a second chance? **This is a courtesy post for PAWS Long Island. If you have specific questions about Eli or are interested in applying/meeting him, please email adoptions@paws-li.org or call 631-306-4616. Story
Meet Hazelnut, an adorable nine-month-old, 45 lb. pointer mix with the cutest speckle coat and big pointy ears. She was found roaming in a field in Texas with a shih tzu (adopted) a few months ago. She’s currently in Texas awaiting an adopter or foster so she can travel up north to find her furever family! Hazelnut is a high energy girl ready to be the life of the party! She is active, loves to play, can't get enough of her toys, and absolutely loves other dogs. She'd be thrilled to have a doggy companion in her furever home. She's super sweet and never says no to a snuggle. Hazelnut is fine around the kids but may knock a young one down so older children are recommended due to her exuberance. Due to living on the streets, she has never had training before so she'll need someone to guide and teach her basic manners and obedience. A home with a fenced yard is a must. Hazelnut will make a wonderful addition to any home! Her adoption fee is $450 and she is vaccinated, microchipped, heartworm negative, and spayed. If you are interested in Hazelnut, please complete the application at form.jotform.com/200883908893166. For questions, email info@happilyfureverafter.org.

Rocky

Australian Cattle Dog English Shepherd

Male, 1 yr 1 mo
Bethel, CT

(when grown) Med. 26-60 lbs (12-27 kg)

Not good with kids, Good with dogs, Needs experienced adopter, House-trained, Spayed or Neutered, Shots are up-to-date,
Story
Rocky is an 11-month-old, 52 Ib. bundle of love with an incredible mix of breeds (American Staffordshire Terrier, Australian Cattle Dog, English Shepherd) that make him truly one-of-a-kind! With his soft white coat, expressive eyes, and playful energy, Rocky is sure to steal your heart. This sweet boy was found roaming the streets of Texas before being rescued, and he's now safe in a foster home in Connecticut where he has been since March. We don't know much about Rocky's past, but he is shy and cautious when meeting new people. However, once he feels comfortable, his sweet and affectionate side shines through. He adores belly rubs, cuddles, and will happily offer you kisses when he's ready. He loves to chew on bones and will come running from any room in the house for a piece of ice when he hears the freezer door open. Rocky just needs time and patience to build trust, so he'll do best with an experienced dog owner. Rocky is currently living with multiple dogs in his foster home and gets along well with them. He'd thrive in a home with another dog to help boost his confidence and make him feel more secure. Having another pup is a requirement for his adoption. Rocky is more comfortable around women and would do best in a calm, quiet home with teens and up. This smart boy is both house and crate trained (although he'd prefer to be by your side). Rocky is highly food-motivated, which makes training a lot easier. He needs a family that's committed to helping him continue building his confidence and will be around often to support his growth. Rocky will not do well being locked in a crate and alone for hours at a time. A fenced yard is a must to give Rocky the space he needs to explore safely. If you're ready to open your heart and home to this adorable, loving pup, Rocky will reward you with endless love and companionship. His adoption fee is $450 and he is vaccinated, microchipped, heartworm negative, and neutered. If you are interested in Rocky, please complete our online application at form.jotform.com/200883908893166. If you have any questions, email info@happilyfureverafter.org.

Story
Rocky & his running buddy, were left on the streets to fend for themselves. They had been wandering around that neighborhood for a while and befriended a kind business owner who made sure they did not go hungry. Thanks to that Good Samaritan who gained their trust, they were taken in & have been in foster care since. He has gained 20 pounds since then and is doing great! He is approx 3 years old & is fully vetted. As you can see in the video, he is a loving playful pup. His running mate has been adopted & now he really needs a furever home too! Rocky is a completely gorgeous guy, both inside and out! He is full of love and is always in a carefree good mood. His furever family is going to be lucky beyond belief. If you are interested in learning more about this really sweet and deserving boy, please feel free to text or call Alecia Clark, @ 901-486-2850. We are a rescue organization located with our dogs in Tennessee and have weekly transport available for our pups to relocate up north with their new forever families. His adoption fee of $275 includes his vaccinations, neuter, microchip and his transport to his new furever home. Since a meet and greet is not possible prior to adoption, our adopters make their decision to adopt based on pictures, videos and talking to the foster parent. We will do everything possible to make sure he is the perfect match for you and your family & will be with you every step of the way.
