Story
1120552 - This handsome guy is Odin.  He is a smart, playful, loyal companion.  He loves to play with other dogs (especially if they like to run so he can chase), and knows basic commands.  He even listens well off leash on our land and is happy to stay near you unlike a lot of huskies.  He is a husky mix and just over 3 years old. Like most huskies he can be vocal and can be a little stand-off-ish when he first meets you.  He seems to warm up to women faster then men. Also in typical husky fasion he does have some seperation anxiety, and needs to be in a strong crate when you aren’t home, he is getting better with this and does settle down but it takes him a few minutes.  He would do best with someone that isn’t gone too much, can get him plenty of exercise and is in a home with a yard (with a 6ft secure fence), not an apartment.  Husky experience is preferred!  He did okay in his cat test and wasn't overly interested and has been good with the kids he has meet. To adopt this absolutely gorgeous boy please complete an application at www.sloppykisses.org/adoptions! ##911218##

Story
1223379 - Asha is a sweet and friendly 1-ish yr old, 42lbs Pit mix. Very smart, curious and eager to snuggle. She plays well with her foster sisters but has a relatively high prey drive and might not do well with cats. She is crate trained for when you are away, as she still has a curious puppy mouth. She is potty trained, goes pee/poop on command when she has access to the outside, but she is still learning leash etiquette. Asha would do well in a home with another dog similar to her size and age, or with an owner that can provide her with lots of exercise and activity, 2-3+ hours daily.Things to know! --Asha is very smart and curious and would benefit greatly from invested training!-Based on her behavior of pulling away, shrinking, trying to hide any time there is a loud noise, she bumps into something, I lift my hands up etc; its very clear that she received some abuse and neglect prior to her arriving at the Roswell Shelter. Initially she had some shelter shock but once she got over that and her personality started to come out I witnessed little regressions that made it clear it was more than just being at the shelter. In addition to this she had a little bit of food possessiveness that probably came from being under fed/neglected. She has since put on weight and is learning that everyone gets fed what they need. I can now put my hands in her bowl, touch and kiss her while eating, take it away with absolutely no incident. I have yet to feed her tandem with my dogs though, mealtime separation is probably best till a routine is figured out and she feels safe in her new home. She does well sharing treats and toys.-Due to her prior abuse it is best if her training doesn’t consist of any harsh negative reinforcement or loud commands. This tends to cause her to recoil and ignore you. She responds REALLY WELL to calm, focused and intuitive directions. She also loves treats and is easily motivated by them :)-I would not recommend her as a “first dog” for someone and she’d probably do better without small children she could run over.-She has a very sweet demeanor but she is still a young bully mix and will use her weight and strength when she isn’t interested in doing what you say. Still testing/learning boundaries.-She will probably fill out to 47-50lbs when full grown If Asha seems like the right fit for you please complete an application at www.sloppykisses.org/adoptions! ##1916430##

Story
0322041- Hi! My name is Trooper and I'm ready to step my way into your heart.  I'm just a little over a year old and my favorite activities are snuggling, playing, and snuggling! I am house house/potty trained and sleep nicely in my crate when you are gone.  I get along wonderfully with my foster siblings and I am learning manners very quickly.  I am going to need a special adopter because while all the info above is totally true to start I don't always trust people.  I do better meeting new women then men, it took me 3 days to warm up to my foster dad and I barked at him quite a bit until that point, now we are best pals. I would do best in my new home if you do t have a lot of visitors and you are willing to keep working on positively desensitizing me to strangers.  I am happy with a good bone to chew on, and my foster mom says I go "bonkers" over a kong with stuffing in it!  I also really love to play chase with my foster brother.  I take his ball and run around the yard teasing him with it.  I also love to sit in your lap or next to you and snuggle.  I am good with cats, as in, I will chase them a bit, but I have shown no desire to hurt them, I just want to PLAY! I respond well to a firm "no" so teaching me what is right and wrong in my new home should go well with patience and love.  As smart as I am, I am still young with a LOT of Labrador Retriever in me so I need daily exercise. If you are interested in adopting me please complete an application at www.sloppykisses.org/adoptions! ##1375745##

Story
0722191 - Leo’s a spunky, energetic boy who thinks he’s a lap dog despite his size. He really loves being around his people and can sometimes come on a little strong because he’s so excited to see you and get your attention (jumping, trying to leap around in your lap, etc). Leo can be bribed into his crate with a couple treats and sleeps in it overnight or whenever his foster mom isn’t home, but he prefers to be laying around on the couch or floor. Leo gets along great with other dogs, but he does play rough so may overwhelm a quieter or low energy dog. He’s got a high food drive and can be fed treats that are quickly eaten right next to other dogs, but he doesn’t like when any dog or human comes up to him in the middle of him eating or drinking and will display some slight guarding tendencies if this happens. For this reason it’d be best if he wasn’t in a home with small children who may not give him the space he needs. It’s also recommended that his meals are fed in a separate room from other dogs. Leo enjoys being outside, whether that’s playing in the yard with other dogs, chasing a ball, tugging on a rope or going on a walk. He generally does well on walks, but there’s still room for improvement as he can pull a little and try to jump on people we walk by cause he wants to say hello. Leo‘s still working on potty training, but he has only been in his foster home a few weeks so we are positive he will soon catch on.  To adopt Leo please complete an application at www.sloppykisses.org/adoptions! ##1469212##

Story
0822281 - Nymeria is a sweet girl who loves to get pet and is very affectionate.  We think she is a shepherd/husky mix, she is 6-7 years old but she is still very energetic and playful.  She would love her new human to be active and get her out on walks, hikes and runs.  She also likes to play in the water.  She does okay with other dogs out of the home as long as they are more on the submissive side but would do best as the only dog in the home.  She would also do best in a home with older kids and loves her teenagers in her foster home.  Nymeria loves toys and can often be found with a ball in her mouth.  She is house and crate trained. She is very smart and treat motivated so with a little training the sky is the limit for this girl!  If you are interested in meeting her please complete an application at www.sloppykisses.org/adoptions! ##1508274##

Story
0124021 - Meet Bella, the irresistible 3 year old heeler-pitbull mix. This affectionate and friendly pup hasn't met a stranger she didn't like. Bella gets along with other dogs, especially those similar in size, but also wouldn't mind being the only dog.  With her medium energy level, Bella is always up for adventures, but equally enjoys a cozy cuddle session on the couch and a lazy Saturday. She's the perfect companion for anyone who enjoys walks, playtime in the yard, and has plenty of love to give. Bring Bella into your home, and watch your heart melt with every wag of her tail.  To adopt Bella please complete an application at www.sloppykisses.org/adoptions! ##1955454##
