Story
please read descriptionLibby is an 11-month-old Heeler/Malinois mix who had a tough start in life—abandoned as a newborn and bottle-raised by rescuers—which helped shape her incredibly affectionate, people-focused nature. She loves deeply and forms strong bonds with her humans. With a big personality, a gorgeous Malinois-style head, and even bigger energy, Libby is an exceptionally smart, fun-loving young pup. At about 50 pounds, she is potty trained, kennel trained, and rides wonderfully in the car. Libby loves her walks and is learning to walk politely on a leash. She’s an active, enthusiastic girl who would thrive in a home with a fenced yard and another playful, energetic dog. She does well with all dogs and has never shown aggression. Because she can be a bit rambunctious, we recommend older children and households without very small or senior dogs. She hasn’t been tested with cats but hasn’t shown signs of prey drive. This playful pup enjoys tug-of-war, fetch, and cuddling up at the end of the day—whether in her kennel or in your bed, if allowed. Because she is extremely intelligent and requires both mental and physical stimulation, Libby needs an adopter who is not only active and patient but also confident with training and excited to help her reach her full potential. Libby is spayed, fully vaccinated, and microchipped. Her adoption fee is $100. Please apply at www.misfitsdogrescue.orgDecember 11, 2025, 2:51 pm

Story
We adopted Apollo, a Great Pyrenees mix, from the Humane Society. We knew he didn't like other dogs but they cat tested him and said he was not reacting. Unfortunately, Apollo really does not like cats at all. We have been trying to work with him, but he's only gotten more reactive. He is house trained and responds to basic commands. We have not seen him with children, but he is 90 pounds and could potentially hurt a small child unintentionally. He is very much an energetic puppy still (10 months), regardless of his size. He is neutered, microchipped and up to date on vaccinations. He is extremely loving towards adult humans. It breaks ours hearts to re-home him but our cats are traumatized at this point. We only want a good home for him. We are asking a small rehoming fee for his safety. We will also include his kennel, toys and harness

Story
A COMPLETED ADOPTION APPLICATION IS OUR FIRST STEP TOWARD ANY PLACEMENT.  YOU WILL FIND THE ONLINE APP ON OUR WEBSITE AT www.colliesheltierescue.org.  UNTIL WE HAVE THAT PIECE OF INFORMATION, WE HAVE NO PLACE TO START A CONVERSATION. Amelia is a senior smooth coated Collie, referred to as a smoothie.  Her whole world has been turned upside down due to the death of her beloved dad.  She is in a foster home with lovely humans while we reach out to find her the right family match where she will live for the rest of her lifetime.   Amelia is a spayed female, up to date on vaccines and heartworm negative.  She is housebroken and has some obedience training as well.  She has favorite dog beds in each room and will settle happily near you as you go throughout your day.  At bedtime, she once again settles on a dog bed near you and snoozes until morning.  Amelia is what we call "an easy keeper" because there is nothing demanding about her personality.  She will need to know that you love her and value your friendship with her.  And she will return that love with her whole being. We will begin accepting adoption applications on 10/28 and will get back to folks who are a possibility for Amelia.  Unfortunately, often a flood of applications will preclude us from calling each potential adopter.  There are not enough hours in the day for our volunteers.  But if we believe that your family will make Amelia's life wonderful, you will hear from us. Thank you for reading about Miss Amelia and considering her to complete your family.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.November 2, 2025, 2:08 pm

Story
Waldo is a very special boy. He is probably the sweetest dog I have ever known. When I adopted him from his previous owner, they had a post on Facebook & it was obvious getting rid of him was their main priority, not making sure he went to a good home. I took him immediately fearing what his future would hold staying with them & because my special needs son had always wanted a German Shepherd. After we got him we could see he was a Duth Shepherd instead but we could also see clearly that he had been abused. He was very underweight & was, still is, afraid of his own shadow. He warms up to women much quicker than men & he loves kids. He needs a home with a yard that big enough to keep him contained. You may need a 10 ft fence cause boy can he jump. He needs extra love, a lot of patience, training, & someone that will be his BFF. He loves to be loved but patience is key.

Story
A COMPLETED APPLICATION IS REQUIRED BEFORE ANY CONVERSATION ABOUT ADOPTING FROM OUR ORGANIZATION.  PLEASE GO TO OUR WEBSITE AT www.colliesheltierescue.org AND READ ABOUT THE BASIC REQUIREMENTS (GOOD PHONE INTERVIEW, SECURELY FENCED YARD, FABULOUS REFERENCE FROM YOUR VETERINARIAN AND A HOME VISIT).  I KNOW THAT IS A LOT BUT WE SCREEN CAREFULLY FOR THE SAKE OF THE DOGS.  THEY DESERVE IT! Roscoe is a young adult male rough Collie that has a happy spirit and a young soul.  He came to us from a crappy situation but he has not let that bother him in the least.  He adores other dogs of all ages and energy levels.  He also loves all men, women and children although he may be a bit rowdy to be with very young kids.  Think of Tigger, who bounces.  Roscoe bounces too. Roscoe came to us with no known health history so we began with basic vaccines, heartworm test, blood chemistries and complete CBC and a Home Again microchip.  No problems at all.  He is still intact and that will be taken care of as soon as possible.  If RMCSR should find just the right match for Roscoe, we can schedule his neuter with the family's veterinarian and we will pay all the bills.    Breed specific dog rescue exists for the benefit of those breeds. "Collie people" are the right folks to find the best homes for Collies, etc.  The perfect home for Roscoe is one with adults young enough to enjoy the antics of a funny pup and kids that are craving a lifelong bond with a very loving and intuitive breed of dog.  My first Collie raised my children.  You could have that same kind of experience with Roscoe. As we said, completed application first.  You would be surprised how quickly we can move forward for the right family to adopt.  Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.December 5, 2025, 7:40 pm

Capone is a fully vetted, Staffordshire Bull Terrier mix. He recently completed treatment for heartworms, and received the "all clear" from the vet. Capone is very friendly with people, and has done well with all dogs we have introduced home to, since joining our rescue, though he has had no exposure to cats. Capone is approximately 3 yrs old, playful, and now healthy! ****Capone is currently in foster care in Dallas/Fort Worth, so transport would need to be arranged**** If interested in adopting Capone, please fill out our adoption application online: www.salvagedsoulspetrescue.org
