Story
Echo is a hilarious, charming, loyal and loving husky. He is also temperamental, opinionated and stubborn - again, hes a husky. Born on April 24, 2022, Echo is a young 2 year old and has had some trials and tribulations already in his life. He came into my care after being abandoned at a vet appointment when he was 6 months old. I was happy to take him in and relocate him to CO with me and my two sheepdogs. Since then, he has exhibited some chronic behavioral issues which I feel are mostly temper-tantrums due to his living situation. - He is house-trained, but does MARK when he is upset - He knows both simple and complex commands: sit, down, up, off, wait, stay, shake and place - Crate trained - Prey and Food motivated Echo needs an ACTIVE home with an attentive owner who is home, or willing to bring him along to a job site. Echo needs to be the only dog, or have one other companion. Hes friendly with most dogs, most children and adults. Has been trained by Sit Means Sit NOCO.

Story
Dewie is a 6-year-old purebred male pug that I purchased from a breeder. He is sweet, snuggly, playful, silly little pug. He's generally pretty quiet, but howls at emergency vehicles. Dewie is such a cutie. The issue that I'm having is, Dewie is frequently exhibits territory marking. It seems to be triggered by anxiety and/or the presence of my senior male dog. Despite my best efforts to remedy the problem, every thing I've tried has been unsuccessful. Dewie is wonderful dog and deserves people that are patient and equipped to handle his needs.

Story
Harlow the 76 lbs lap dog! I said what I said, ok? Harlow is a 1 year old, male, Australian Cattle Dog/Pit Mix. This sweet, sweet boy is unfortunately, looking for a new home. You see, Harlow has springs on his feet. These springs sometimes land him on the other side of the fence where he doesn’t belong and his family is having a hard time keeping him contained. Harlow LOVES dog friends and he just leaves to go seek out canine companions to romp around with. So, he’s looking for a home with a 5-6 ft privacy fence and a canine companion that likes to wrestle and play. Harlow does well with the children in his home, however, he isn’t the most social guy and can be growly and on edge with new people, so we feel a home without a lot of comers and goers would be best for him. He warms up, but his humans should be mindful of his skepticism and help him learn to trust accordingly. He’s house trained, crate trained, and did we say a lap dog? Harlow has attended doggie day care and he LOVES it! However, he was shy and nervous with the staff but when they finally let him with the other dogs he lit up! Harlow is in foster in Thornton, Colorado. *We require all adopters to come to Colorado to adopt. *We do not transport dogs. * You can view this wonderful dog at https://www.milehighcanine.org/post/dogs/harlow. Story
Good golly miss Gracie! What a battle it’s been to get her healthy and to this point, but we are so honored and excited to finally offer her for adoption to the perfect home! Gracie is a 5-year-old Great Dane. She was surrendered, heavily pregnant, to a shelter in New Mexico. Shortly after delivering a huge litter of pups, Gracie went septic. She was rushed to the vet for an emergency spay, wherein they found she had retained a couple of deceased puppies. She was gravely ill and the shelter decided it was best to separate her and her pups. Sadly, they all passed away. About a month later, Gracie was recovered and set out on her journey to Colorado. About an hour or two after she left the shelter, she began to bleed profusely from her lady parts. She was taken immediately to the closest emergency room wherein they found a stich from her spay had come undone – causing her to nearly bleed to death. So, Gracie headed back to the shelter for a few more weeks until she was fully recovered. Then, she set out to come to CO and this time, SHE MADE IT! Since Gracie really wasn’t feeling her best self during her stay in NM, we were so excited to see what an absolute joy she is! Gracie is dog friendly and would LOVE a canine companion that likes to play. She’s down for some serious naptimes, too, don’t get me wrong. Your girl is not hyper-active, by any means. She’s a lap dog (yes, don’t argue with me), loves her crate, and is extremely sensitive to correction so she needs a very gentle home. She’s a couch surfer, bed sleeper, and takes walks daily of around 2-3 miles. Gracie is treat-motivated, loves belly rubs, and really is just looking for her forever family. If this 103 lbs, black beauty, is just what you’ve been missing, please, get your apps in. She’s waited long enough for you to find her! Gracie is in foster in Mead, Colorado. *We require all adopters to come to Colorado to adopt. *We do not transport dogs. * You can view this wonderful dog at https://www.milehighcanine.org/post/dogs/gracie/. Story
Senior alert! This spunky, older fellow is around 55 pounds, 8-10ish years old, and we believe a boxer/pit mix. His four-year-old human foster sibling named him Rex! Rex has had rough life as evidenced by the roadmap of scars on his skin. He was skinny and unhealthy when rescued with terrible allergies, parasites, some lumps that needed to be removed, and teeth that needed cleaning. Rex was picked up as a stray in Houston with many painful, ulcerated burn marks on his paws and underside, thought to be from trauma from being on concrete in the hot sun. He then almost lost his life when he landed on the euthanasia list due to space at a high kill shelter. Despite all of those things, Rex loves people and his forgiveness for our species is very gracious. He reminds us all that age is just a number and resilience can open doors for life to improve for the better. Rex has done well with the kids and all the other dogs in his foster home. He seems to be crate trained and housetrained. We are looking for a forever family to spoil Rex for his remaining time on earth. We have promised to find him a family that will give him regular meals, cuddles, stability, and vet care (though he definitely has a phobia/distrust of the doctor’s office😬). He also requests bed and furniture privileges as he’s becoming rather accustomed to those and appreciates snuggling under his blankets 😂. He is not shy about demanding what he wants and has quite the personality. Rex is still fairly spry and with decent mobility for his age, though he does benefit from some arthritis management. Rex would most appreciate a mature household where he can be a happy home-body living his best predictable life complete with daily treats and pets. Rex is being fostered in Fort Collins, Colorado. *We require all adopters to come to Colorado to adopt. *We do not transport dogs. * You can view this wonderful dog at https://www.milehighcanine.org/post/dogs/rex/. Story
"Ok y’all. We know the pitbull types can be harder to find adopters for due to the stereotypes. Black Dog Syndrome in the rescue world just makes that even harder for dogs like Haven, but this sweet, stunning girl deserves a forever family instead of being euthanized! Haven came into a high kill shelter in Houston after being found as a stray/dumped at a Chevron gas station. Her future was bleak. Luckily, she’s easy on the eyes and one of our pittie loving foster homes quickly stepped up for her. Haven is a healthy girl who is around 2 years old and about 55 pounds. She is adapting wonderfully to the routine of a foster home and is great with kids. She is food motivated, smart, attentive, and very eager to please. She walks well on a leash and has a mild-moderate energy level. Haven can be a bit picky/selective about her dog friends in play groups, does best with slow careful introductions, and seems to do better with male dogs. She would also be completely in love with the idea of being someone’s only dog/princess. Please give Haven a chance. She’s ready to snuggle you and be your best friend!" Haven is being fostered in Fort Collins, Colorado. *We require all adopters to come to Colorado to adopt. *We do not transport dogs. * You can view this wonderful dog at https://www.milehighcanine.org/post/dogs/haven/.
