Story
Foster notes are in on Mingus! Mingus "Gus" is a very good boy. He has been with me for 6 days. He becomes your little shadow and follows you everywhere but not under foot. I have a fear of tripping over him, but it was not an issue with him. He is a dream to walk on a leash and loves walks. He has no reaction to other dogs and gives my cat a wide berth. He is an explorer and tracker in the yard. He comes when called and knows his name. He lets me know when he needs to go out (he stares at me) and takes care of business very quickly. He makes no effort to get out of the yard and is usually within sight of us. He is not hyperactive. Does not seem to have interest in toys. Loves to cover himself with a blanket so I leave one on the dog beds. Loves his head and chin scratched but it took a few days before I could scratch his back. Hardly ever gets on furniture and seems to like the floor level better. However, he jumps on the bed which is higher so I think it is a preference not that he can't jump. He rides in the car great in his carrier but will not jump into the car. I have to set the crate on the ground, and he goes right in. He takes a little patience at first, but he is not hard to have around. He is going to make someone very happy once they become his person. I sure hope he finds his family very soon. Go Ted! Ted is doing wonderful things in his foster home. We received wonderful feedback we can't wait to share with you! "Ted is a delightful enthusiastic dog who is responding well to training over the 8 weeks we've had him -He adores people and wants to be where we are. -He follows us around the property and explores while we garden/work and checks back frequently -Sleeps quietly in crate for up to 12 hours -Waits patiently at back door when outside alone -Is not destructive except for a fondness for cucumbers hanging off the vine. Learned quickly to stay off raised garden beds -Loves walks, his chew toys and raw bones and chasing a large weighted ball -Loves riding in car -Lives with an older cat -Is learning to stay off/not jump on visitors and us when excited -Has a "zoomie" period most evenings -Appears friendly w dogs when separated by fence. We hope to acquaint him in near future with other neutral calm dogs that he can learn from." Come meet Ted during the weekends or give us a call for more info!
