Story
Hi. I’m Finn!  I'm a happy, friendly boy and LOVE LOVE LOVE to meet new people. Sometimes I can't help it and want to say hi to everyone that passes by. I like other dogs, too, and enjoy a good game of "chase and be chased". I like it so much that some dogs think my greeting can be a little over the top but most want to play like me but I will chill if told to. I love walks and like to sniff everything. I'm great on leash as long as you use my front clip harness.  I don't pull with the front clip and it's easy to put on. I’m working hard on training and feel I have mastered sit, down, stay, shake and off. I am really a perfect walking buddy. But I love my walks and love to go out with my people.  Even though I love other dogs, sometimes I need to be reminded to share. However, if it’s a tug-of-war rope then GAME ON. I’ll play tug all day long!  If you have a swimming spot nearby, I'm in, literally. I ride nicely in the car and jump right in. I'm ready to roll. Even though l like other dogs, I really would be happy with my very own person. My foster family takes me to German Shepherd meetups and I’ve done great!  Like I said, I'm a friendly boy just waiting for that perfect family that wants to have fun and go places. Don't get me wrong, I can be a chill, snuggle buddy too and love to cuddle my foster dad in the mornings. I am  happy to liet at your side while you work or if youre just reading a book.  If you are looking for a great out-and-about boy, and have lots of energy and time to spend with me, come see me and we can be friendls. I really would like my own family soon. It's been a while and I am a super good boy. I have been told that I am mnore handsome in person. I am not reactive to dogs and I would love my own family, hopefully with a dog. I love to play. I'll be waiting with my foster family in Mountain View. Story
Hi there! My name's Ari, and I'm a 1.5 year-old German Shepherd girl with just a hint of Doberman. I'm a svelte 60 lbs and have a sleek black coat with tan tinted toes/feet and ginormous ears. I am super cute! I'm a really sweet girl and love attention and I absolutely LOVE exploring the world around me! Going on walks is my absolute favorite thing—I just can't get enough of all the wonderful smells! Sometimes I get a bit too enthusiastic and pull on the leash, but I'm learning to respect the leash a bit more (and my human's arm). I didn't get the greatest chance to meet new people in my prior home and I can be a bit cautious sometimes but I'm learning that new poeple are fun. I really like to approach on my own, when I'm ready to say hi. I'm sure you can relate! I'm pretty friendly with other dogs and like meeting dogs that are calm and easy going. I have gone on walks with Stan and Jackson and we have a blast together! Stan and I go on walks together all the time and I would really like to play but he's just not into it. I am learning to play appropriately as it's all new to me and sometimes I get a bit excited and come on too strong but I'm a quick learner and really just want to learn to play. I'm working on being more gentle and respectful during playtime. I grew up with a cat so I might be able to live with one. I don't think I have a desire to chase things but I'm curious. I'm especially curious about smelling EVERYTHING and sometimes I get a little too grabby and pick up things on the ground I really shouldn't but it's ok, you can easily take it away from me, I share.  I didn't get a chance to get out and about much in my last home. I was adopted as a wee pup but unfortunately my humans didn't have time for me and I spent a bit too much time in the back yard entertaining myself. Fortunately I found my way back to the rescue and I'm having a blast exploring the big world. I'm still working on my 'focus' but it's so much fun learning it won't be long and I'll be paying attention AND having fun at the same time. I'm comfortable going into stores and have no issues with floors or stairs. I can sometimes get startled by loud, boistrous people and it takes me a second to chill back out but I'm working really hard on it.  I think I would thrive with someone who takes me to new places and lets me explore the world. I need adventure and excitement! With a little patience and love, I know I'll grow into the best companion anyone could ask for. I’ll be waiting in Santa Rosa. Story
Hey there-I'm Si, and let me give you the scoop on my story. A kind Good Samaritan rescued me and my sister Nu, and it's been quite the whirlwind ever since. First off, I'm a healthy and playful six-month-old girl with boundless energy. Walking on a leash? Piece of cake! I've got that skill down to a T. Plus, I'm a social butterfly – I get along famously with other dogs and absolutely adore people. Inside the house, I'm as well-behaved as they come. I've got impeccable manners and know how to keep things tidy. But don't let that fool you – I'm still all about having fun and playing games. What I'm really hoping for is to find my very own family. You know, someone who will cuddle with me, play fetch, and give me endless belly rubs. I might be just a typical pup, but I'm eager to learn and show you just how smart I am. And let me tell you, I'm a total sucker for treats – they're the key to my heart! Oh, and did I mention I'm a great listener? Whether you're sharing your secrets or teaching me new tricks, I'm all ears. So if you're on the lookout for a furry friend who's ready to shower you with love and affection, look no further. I'm here, and I can't wait to become a part of your family! I'll be waiting in Sacramento.  You like this dog...now what? Story
Hi! I’m Neko. I am a very sweet, curious, intelligent, and good-natured youngster. I’m a happy, friendly, intelligent boy looking for a home to call my very own. Some good Samaritans found me wandering the streets. Thankfully they took me in and contacted my friends at BAGSR to help find my perfect match. If you're looking for the bestest boy, you've come to the right place! I’d do great in a home with another dog companion, with an outdoorsy owner, or even a home with active kids. I love meeting new people and have never shown aggressive behavior to any person or dog. I love adventures like long walks, visits to parks, and hikes. I also travel well in the car and go easily into my safety crate. I’m housebroken and rarely bark or claw at doors to be let in or out—I usually just stand or lie by the door. I sleep in my foster mom and dad's bedroom on a dog bed, and I like to sleep or nap in a cozy corner or against a wall. I also know which rooms in the house are off-limits. I’m comfortable being touched anywhere on my body, including my head, paws and tail, and I’m not possessive of or aggressive around my food or toys. I’m very quiet and only bark occasionally when I’m startled or if I’m super excited and ready to play—I don’t bark in response to other dogs barking. I might bark a few times at sudden, unfamiliar sounds outside, but I stop quickly. The only time I’ve ever growled is when I’m outside tugging on my play rope, but even then I hardly make any noise. I really enjoy meeting new people, including kids, and I love playing with other dogs too. I like to be scratched and petted, and often throw a front leg across my humans' arm while lying down in a sort of “hug.” When I’ve had enough of being touched, I just move away. I’m very good on a leash, rarely tugging, and I’m taking obedience classes, learning commands like “sit,” “heel,”  “wait,” “leave it,” and more. I learn very quickly and am eager to please, and love getting treats or praise to reinforce good behavior. My foster parents can even trim my nails easily, a few at a time, alternating a clip with a treat. I take goodies gently and don’t snap or bite. I absolutely love water, including hoses, sprinklers, and on-leash wades in rivers, and I’m easy to bathe, drying quickly and shedding minimally because I don’t have a thick undercoat like some German Shepherds. I don’t gnaw on furniture, shoes, or anything else in the house except my chew toys, and I don’t dig in the garden. I’m very “handy” with my long, flexible toes that grip almost like a cat’s, using them to grab my toys firmly. This is a courtesy post and I'll be waiting in Stockton. Hope to meet you! Story
Hi there, I'm Jackson, a 12-14 month-old German Shepherd. I've been told I'm a super sweet boy, and I like to think I live up to that reputation. I'm about 80-85 lbs, tall and handsome. You may notice in my pictures I have one ear up and one down. I'm working on getting the down ear up and sometimes I succeed but I think the look gives me character, don't you think?  I'm a healthy, happy young boy with enough energy to play, hike, swim (I absolutely love the water) and do all the fun stuff but I can also chlll out with a nice bone and watch some tv with you. I am crate trained if needed and sleep through the night wherever you are. Remember, I'm still a younster even though I'm a big tall boy and still get the zoomies, I'll need training so I can be my bestest self. I totally adore the people in my circle of trust and thrive on attention and love! I haven't quite mastered the art of meeting new people and can be a little barky and pushy in my personal safety zones, like the home and car. I will need a little help with this and would do best in a home that doesn't have a lot of strangers coming and going - at least to start out and while I build my confidence. Doggo friends are cool and I can meet them with no issues at all. I think I would do well with another playful, confident dog pal in the home. Once I know who you are, we're rock solid buddies. I didn't want to get in the car at first but now I can't wait to jump in and go for a ride. I do like to hang out the window, which I know isn't safe, but some slow, country drives where I could do this safely would be great. Of course I can ride nicely in the car if I must. I'm pretty good on my leash, and do best on a front clip harness. I don't bark and carry on when I see other dogs out and about. I know my basics and work well for tasty treats. I do like to stick by my person and I have INCREDIBLE recall and will come charging back to you if you ask me to. Eager to please doesn't even begin to cover it—I live for those moments when I know I've done something right. In short, I'm a nice young pup with heaps of potential. I love to please my peeps and my current BFF tells me I'm going to be the bestest boy for the luckiest family. I do need training as I'm still a youngster and I need someone that helps me learn to meet new people when they come over to visit.  My foster's grandmother came for a 2 week visit and I was her favorite ! Truth ! So what do you say? Ready to embark on this journey together? I will be waiting in Newcastle.  You like this dog...now what? Story
Hi; I’m Holden! I’m 12 years old, and I absolutely love meeting people—everyone I see is a new friend and I will go with anyone who wants to take me for a walk.  When it comes to dogs, I’m pretty chill. I’ll say hi, maybe hang out for a bit, but then I like to do my own thing. When you leave our house, I might cry because I do want you to stay. I get over it but I love the company of friends.  Now, cats... let’s just say I’m very interested! I might want to chase them, so I’m probably not the best fit for a home with cats. And squirrels... duh...they get me excited ! I’m proud to say I have nice house manners and haven’t had any accidents. I am a super good boy. Even though a comfy home is what I’m looking for and I love lounging around, I think leash walks are fun and I know they’re good exercise, so I don't mind going out at all.  I don’t react to anything around me when I’m on a stroll, well maybe except the pesky squirrel or cat. I won't hurt them but they do catch my eye. I’ve got a condition called carpal hyperextension in my front legs, but it doesn’t stop me from enjoying a nice outdoor walk. But something you should know about me is that hardwood floors can be tricky for me. It's not too bad at all, just letting you know. I am good !  I’ve got a great appetite and my hair is super soft. My weight’s good, though I could probably lose a couple of pounds. Also, sometimes I get a little anxious when left alone, but I’m adjusting and only whine for a minute or two especially when my foster Mom's friends leave. My foster mom says that I am really chill and so sweet ! Hah !  Need someone to keep you company around the house? I’m really the bestest boy you could ask for! Mom also says I walk nicely on leash and don't pull.  I’ll be waiting with my foster mom in Elk Grove. You like this dog...now what?
