Story
Pearl is a Malinois mix, estimated DOB is 8/1/25 and she currently weighs 19 lbs. She is very smart. She walks great on a leash and knows basic commands. She learns quickly and is fun to train. She loves to play with her toys and run through the water. She is crate trained and gets along with the dogs he currently lives with. She is friendly when meeting new people. Her ideal home would be one with room to run and play, so no apartments. She needs a person who understands the requirements of a puppy and has the time to continue her training. Pearl loves to be with her person, so she would love to find a home with a family that is committed to taking her on daily walks, have outside playtime, and that would include her in daily activities and other outings. She would do fine with respectful kids. Pearl is a wonderful puppy and will make a great companion for the right family! Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Meet Stuart – The Fluffy Little Fighter! Stuart is an impossibly fluffy, tiny French Bulldog with a mighty heart. Born August 31st with a cleft palate, Stuart was tube-fed from birth—but he’s come an incredible long way. He now eats completely on his own and continues to grow stronger and more confident every day. While he’s still smaller than most pups his age, he’s thriving and proving just how resilient he is. Stuart currently prefers drinking from a water bottle rather than a bowl, which helps him manage his cleft safely and comfortably. What does his cleft mean long term? Most cleft palate pups—just like Stuart—learn to eat and drink normally as they grow. In over 13 years of raising cleft pups, surgery has rarely been necessary and is not recommended unless chronic sinus infections develop. These procedures can create more problems than they solve, and Stuart has been doing wonderfully without surgery. Because he was hand-raised, Stuart is extremely people-oriented and deeply bonded to his humans. He loves being close—whether that’s snuggled in your arms or toddling along behind you from room to room. He lives comfortably in a busy home with lots of dogs and children and does great with both. Why You’ll Love Him: Sweet, gentle, and incredibly people-focused Eats on his own and continues to gain confidence Great with dogs and kids Fluffy, unique, and undeniably adorable A resilient, once-in-a-lifetime kind of companion Adoption Fee: $700 Apply: AdoptPet – Recycled Pets NorCal Anyone would be lucky to welcome this special little boy into their home. If you’re ready to love, protect, and spoil him the way he deserves, Stuart is ready to love you right back. Story
Nina is a darling little terrier mix. Her estimated DOB is 3/2020 and she is around 20 lbs. She is looking for a home with a secure fenced yard, social and playful companion dog(s) and no kids. Due to her initial time to warm up, she will require multiple meets. New home will need to be within 30 min of Roseville. Please read the information about Nina before inquiring about her. . Nina is a bit different from other dogs, she is not a cuddly dog and prefers to love her humans from arms length. While she enjoys a pat on the head and occasional short petting sessions she can become overwhelmed if someone is too insistent on being physically affectionate with her for too long. With time she may or may not enjoy more physical affection. She does not feel comfortable being picked up and is used to using steps to get into the back of an SUV or tall vehicle. Nina absolutely loves other friendly dogs and will happily romp around the yard with them. She likes to wrestle and play chase with her dog buddies. She likes being outside and exploring in the yard while her people do yard work. She loves treats and chewing on bully sticks. She has not figured out the use for toys or balls at this point. Nina can be shy/timid with new people and in new situations. She has shown that she will warm up with slow, gentle introductions and treats. She will require patience and understanding to feel comfortable in a new home. Someone who has the time, patience and willingness to help a shy dog gain confidence would be ideal. Once she is comfortable in a home she is happy, silly and playful. She likes to lay near her people but has never jumped on the furniture and prefers the floor or a dog bed close by everyone. Nina is crate trained, and housebroken in her foster home. She currently lives with dog savvy cats and is respectful with them but will challenge shy kitties and chase if they run. She enjoys walks and is polite on a leash. Once comfortable with her people she comes when called and listens well. Nina would do well in a home with a confident companion dog or two to pal around with, help show her the ropes and keep her company while her humans are away from home. Children would likely overwhelm her so an adult only home for her. She is an alert barker so no apartments for her. She likely would not do well being left home alone daily for long hours. Nina is a sweet little dog who is waiting for a special someone who can accept, appreciate and love her on her terms. Story
Bunker is a sweet beautiful boy looking for his perfect new home! He was born in 2/2015 and is about 50-55lbs. Although Bunker gets along with most dogs, his ideal home would be as the only pooch. He has done great with his families young grandchildren. Bunker LOVES his people, is reliable left at home in the house alone (currently has a dog door). He loves to play ball with himself and go for walks. Bunker will have a reduced adoption fee...please email us for more info and an adoption questionnaire. Here is what his family says about this sweetheart: Bunker…… Where do you start with this handsome chocolate goofball? He is almost 9, going on 2. He loves people! He loves to play ball with himself. He loves to play with his stuffed lovies and sleep with them. He loves to kiss you and drinks water like an animal 3 times his size. He loves to ride shot gun almost as much as he loves taking you for a walk. He loves sleeping at the foot of your bed and occasionally moves up to the pillow to make sure you are watching him sleep. Bunker can be dog selective. Sometimes they don’t like his royalty aura he carries and sometimes he doesn’t like theirs. He has been around children and loves to show off his mad skills of playing ball with himself. He is neutered, UTD on shots and heartworm medication. He has no known health issues. Bunker does not like squirrels or skunks or small prey, but seems to completely ignore small dogs and has tested ok with dog savvy kitties. Bunker has selective hearing (he would totally deny this). He may or may not come when called, but can hear me open a bag of dog treats from next door. Story
Introducing Pokey Puppy!!! Pokey's estimated dob is May 2023 and he weighs about 32lbs. He came to us in poor condition from one of the Central Valley shelters so had little hope of making it out.  Pokey has had good care and good groceries and has flourished.  He appears to be a short stack Cattle Dog mix given his coloration and some of his behaviors.  Pokey is still shy with new people and to some extent other dogs so patience will be needed for his transition.  Once he is comfortable, he is happy and playful.  Pokey has been learning about the wide world and walks the neighborhood everyday.  He will continue to need exposure and reassurance for outings as he matures, along with solid training. He is a strong and active player so another sturdy playful pup would be good.  Pokey sleeps in his crate at night.  He has also mastered the dog door.  And he is pretty much potty trained. Pokey's wishlist: 1.  Fenced yard 2.  Daily walks and activity 3.  No young children.  Older respectful children  4.  Continued training  5.  Patience and leadership 6.  A compatible playmate Please email right away if you would like to learn more about this dog......and visit our website www.siarescuers.org to learn more about our rescue group. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Norah is approximately 7 months old. She came from the Stockton shelter where one of our RPNC volunteers first heard about her and started fostering her. Norah was a medical foster due to her having a prolapsed rectum. She's had two surgeries to repair her colon and after a long recovery period Norah is ready to find her forever home. Norah will need to stay on special food through her life and it will be important for her new family to understand her medical condition. There is a possibility that she will need to have another surgery by a specialist. However, her foster has been able to control her condition with diet and we are hopeful her new family will be able to do the same. Norah is a typical 6 month old puppy. She loves to play, play, play. She currently lives with 2 other dogs; a younger dog and an older dog. She does great with both. Plays with the younger dog and respects the older dog. She also lives with a cat, that she likes to chase. We think with boundaries and more training she could live with a dog savvy cat. She loves all peoples. She is house and crate trained but is still learning the command "go to bed" to go into her crate on command and she is still learning the basics such as sit. Altough Norah is your typical active puppy, she can also chill out and chew on a nyla bone for hours. Norah would be a fantastic addition to any family. She is one of those dogs that fits in with everyone. If you are interested in Norah, you can fill out an application here.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.October 22, 2024, 12:24 am
