Story
Pete`s journey has been nothing but inspirational. Pete first arrived at our shelter October 1st, he was a shell of a dog shut down, and terrified. For days, he sat isolated avoiding human interaction not sure who to trust. But behind those frightened eyes we knew there was a heart waiting to be healed. Our staff and volunteers didn`t give up on Pete. We spent hours sitting with him, patiently letting him learn to trust. Slowly with kindess and patience, Pete began to soften. As time passed Pete went to a one week stay foster home where he blossomed even more. He was wonderful with the other dogs and even the cat in the home. In this quiet environment, he became much more relaxed and affectionate. At the shelter Pete enjoys his daily walks, his zoomies when he steps outside his kennel and the gentle affection he gets from staff and volunteers.Pete is now 3 years old and weighs 21 pounds. His transformation is is a reminder that with patience, kindness and a little bit of time, even the most frightened souls can find their way. Pete is ready for his next adventure of finding his forever family. Interested in meeting Pete? Please visit our adoption center located at12425 Monterey Rd in San Martin anytime during open hours(12-6pm weekdays, 12-5 pm weekends). Story
Adam is a very sweet energetic dog. Adam is a sweet boy to adults and kid friendly. Adam enjoys daily walks, sun bathing, and playing with his chew toys. We noticed that Adam does try to nibble on arms when he is overly excited, so we’ve been training to redirect that energy to his chew toys. Adam does well during car rides and on leash walks. We’ve noticed Adam gets overly excited during his walks and becomes easily distracted when he sees other dogs and squirrels, and lunges towards them , however, he is very treat motivated so the treats redirect his attention back to the walker. At this time, I think Adam still needs training and proper socialization with other dogs so we believe he is best in a home by himself with no other dogs. Adam does very well inside the home, he is potty trained and does not jump on the furniture. Interested in meeting me? Please visit our adoption center located at 12425 Monterey Rd in San Martin anytime during open hours (12-6pm weekdays, 12-5 pm weekends). No appointment is necessary and there is no pre-application process.
