Story
💃✨ Chimi ✨💃 1.5-year-old • German Shepherd Mix • Female Chimi is a sweet, gentle soul who just needs a little time to feel safe. She can be shy when meeting new people, but once she warms up, her bright personality shines through. At heart, she’s an energetic young girl who loves to move, explore, and would thrive with someone who can give her regular exercise and some basic obedience training to help her build confidence. Chimi can be nervous when meeting new dogs, but she does not show aggression—she simply needs slow, patient introductions so she can feel secure. The same goes for cats: when brought into the cat room, Chimi was fearful but showed zero reactivity or aggression. With careful, gradual introductions, she has great potential to coexist peacefully with other animals. This sweet girl is looking for a patient, loving home that will let her blossom at her own pace. Due to her jumping playful habits, I would not recommend her in a home with small children. She may do well with older kids in the home. If you’re willing to go slow, give her guidance, and help her grow, Chimi will reward you with loyalty, love, and plenty of joyful energy.

Story
💪Dominik🐾 This handsome 1 year-old Pit Bull is the total package — playful, loyal, and full of love to give! Dominik’s favorite things in the world are cuddling up with his humans and playing with his toys. While he prefers people-time over dog-time, his goofy personality and big heart make him a joy to be around. Dominik loves his walks, so much that he likes to carry his own leash! It’s adorable, but if you’d rather he didn’t, he’s a smart boy who would thrive with a bit of basic obedience training. Due to his energy level and leash biting, I would not recommend him in a home with small children. He also travels well in the car and enjoys tagging along for any adventure. When it comes to cats, Dominik seems a little too curious, so we’d recommend slow introductions if he’ll be sharing his home with feline friends. Dominik is ready to find a family who will give him all the love, playtime, and belly rubs he deserves. Could that be you? ❤️🐶

Story
🤎💪 Meet Rusty 💪🤎 3-year-old • Pit Bull Mix • Male Rusty is a fun-loving, toy-obsessed sweetheart who adores people and is always ready for a good time. If you’re looking for a loyal companion who can play fetch for hours, Rusty is your guy! He’s highly food-motivated and eager to learn, making him a trainer’s dream. Once he gets his initial excitement out, he settles into a nice walk and handles the leash well. Rusty has been tested with other dogs and did well overall. At the time, he was still intact and tended to mount other dogs, but he responded appropriately to corrections. He has also shown this behavior with people, so we do not recommend him for homes with small children. However, he may do well with respectful, dog-savvy older kids who understand boundaries. Rusty has a high prey drive, so a home without small animals is best for his safety and theirs. With structure, training, and plenty of playtime, Rusty will thrive as a devoted family member. If you’re ready for a fun, enthusiastic partner who brings endless joy (and toys!) into your life, come meet Rusty at Manteca Shelter—he can’t wait to show you what a fantastic dog he is!

Story
🐾 Sadie ❤️ 🚨⚠️She has been at the shelter OVER 132 days! ⚠️🚨 📍1yr old Female Rhodesian Ridgeback Great Dane mix Meet Sadie! An affectionate, trainable, and eager to please sweet girl. 💥 Personality & Needs: She’s food-motivated, walks fairly well on leash, and offers soft, gentle eye contact. This sweet girl shows no signs of resource guarding and has all the potential to be a wonderful companion in the right home. 👶 Best Without Small Kids: Sadie’s still very much a playful pup at heart. She loves to jump up and give big, enthusiastic hugs — which makes her better suited for families with older children rather than small ones. 🐶 Dog-selective, But awesome with the right dog!: She can be dog selective, so she would do best with slow, structured introductions to other dogs. She can be slightly over bearing and rude which throws most dogs into defensive mode. 😺 Possibly cat friendly! When walked into our cat room Sadie was more fearful of the hissing cats, showing no interest in them. I would still take any interactions with cats or small animals very slow with her. Sadie is full of potential and just needs the right environment to thrive — ideally with a rescue or adopter who can give her the time, structure, and guidance she deserves. She’s currently deteriorating in the shelter environment 💔, and we’d love to see her get a second chance.

🚨🐾🚨 URGENT: AT RISK DOG 🚨🐾🚨 Shelter is extremely full 🐻Teddy🐻 📍 5-year-old male Siberian Husky 🚨Animal Reactive Meet Teddy- This boy is stunning, smart, and full of personality—but shelter life is overwhelming for him! He has been at the shelter since 07/15/25! Way over 100 days! 🏋️‍♂️ Super Trainable, Silly & Athletic ✨ Highly food-motivated — he’ll do just about anything for a treat! Shows no signs of resource guarding while eating. ✨ A morning howler — he loves greeting staff with his signature “good morning” song. ✨ A silly, adorable waddle — his quirky gait only adds to his charm. ✨ Bright, eager, and willing to learn — he just needs the right teacher. ✨ Who doesn't love BRIGHT blue eyes! 🩵 🚨🐶😺 Animal Reactive Teddy is animal reactive here at the shelter and needs to be the only animal in the home. With a calmer environment, patience, and proper training, there’s a chance his reactivity may improve, but for now he needs space and structure. 👶Best with no small children in the home. Teddy needs a confident, experienced leader, preferably someone familiar with northern breeds. He’s not a match for children due to his drive and reactivity toward animals, but he’ll thrive with an adult who understands his needs and communication style. Teddy deserves a home where he can decompress, bond with his person, and finally feel secure. Right now, he’s stressed, confused, and hoping someone out there can see past the shelter chaos and into his huge heart. 📩 If you can tag for rescue, adopt, or even just help share Teddy’s story, please reach out. This sweet boy has so much potential—he just needs the right human to unlock it.

🚨🐾🚨 URGENT: AT RISK DOG 🚨🐾🚨 Shelter is extremely full 🩵🐾 Meet Simon🐾🩵 📍4yr old male Siberian Husky This Quirky Husky is Ready to Run Into Your Heart! 🐾 Meet Simon- This boy has a big personality, a playful spirit, and a heart full of potential. He’s the kind of dog who can make you laugh without even trying—and he’s patiently waiting for someone to see just how special he is. ✨Personality Simon is a funny, quirky guy who lives for yard time. His favorite game? Tag! Give him a little space to stretch those long legs and he’ll happily sprint circles of joy around you. He also loves soft, positive interaction—he allows all-over touch, offers gentle eye contact, and shows zero signs of resource guarding. 🏋️‍♂️ Super Trainable, Silly & Athletic Training this boy will be a breeze because he’s very treat-motivated and eager to learn. He just needs someone willing to guide him, reward him, and keep him mentally and physically engaged. 🐶 Dog Interactions: He did fairly well when dog-tested with a small female dog. Not recommended with larger male dogs—he becomes defensive quickly 🐈 A no-cat home would be best, as he’s shown reactivity in the cat room 👶No small children Not recommended with small children at this time due to some mounting behaviors observed in the play yard. Once neutered and in a more stable home environment, these behaviors may improve, and he may be suitable for children in the future Simon is active, intelligent, and full of love—he just needs a home that understands the energy and joy of a northern breed. He’ll thrive with someone who appreciates his playful side and can give him the structure he needs. 📩 If you’re looking for a loyal running buddy, a goofy best friend, or a dog who will brighten even your toughest days with his gorgeous blue eyes, Simon might be your perfect match. Please reach out to help Simon find the home he deserves!
