Story
Camy is a 3-4 year old Border Collie/Husky Mix. She came to us through a Good Samaritan who found her left in a dog park. We found several posts online showing she had been spotted several times across town for 3-4 weeks before finally being found in the dog park. Her previous owners never claimed her. We had no clue she was pregnant until her belly grew into a watermelon sized ball, seemingly overnight! She gave birth to 9 healthy puppies who have all been adopted by the most wonderful families. Camy is the sweetest, most lovable girl with very high energy. She does not like to be kenneled and only wants to go for walks or play. She needs a family with a very active lifestyle and/or another very active dog with similar energy type to ensure a happy forever after. She gets along with most dogs but can be picky about others. She would be best suited for older kids. A very secure yard/play area is a must because she is an escape artist and will take off if she feels like it. This behavior will, most likely, subside once she has a family that can satisfy her need for attention and exercise. All current AND previous pets (cats and dogs) MUST be up to date on vaccines and be spayed/neutered. Please check with your landlord, if you rent, for breed and weight restrictions before applying. We do not allow visitors unless you are an approved adopter. If you'd like to adopt her, please fill out an adoption application here: www.luckysanimalrescue.com/adoption-app

Story
Winnie is a one year old Pit Bull Terrier mix that was surrendered to us by her owners. They were unable to care for her due to personal health issues and she grew up in the backyard, never learning how to be a family dog. The family's autistic 4 year old child spent a lot of time with her, though, and she was absolutely amazing with the child. Due to the lack of socialization, sweet Winnie is extremely shy and it takes her a long time to trust anyone. Once she gains your trust, she is the most loving and affectionate dog who only wants to cuddle. She has the sweetest temperament when she is comfortable and wants to be as close to her person as she possibly can. She loves toys and playing fetch, although, she doesn't always bring the toy back! We are diligently working on basic training like walking on leash, simple commands, etc. but everything at a pace she is comfortable with. She would do well with a person or family that can spend a lot of time with her, helping her learn how to trust and exist comfortably in the normal world. Her adopter must understand that she needs a lot of time to adjust and be willing to work with her, at her pace. If you'd like to give Winnie a chance, please fill out an adoption application here: www.luckysanimalrescue.com/adoption-app

Story
Newbie is a charming, approximately 6 year old, American Pitbull mix. He is a goofy guy with loads of energy. He loves to swim which is a great way to burn some of that awesome energy. He is good with some dogs but Trixie is his BFF. They don’t need to be adopted together but it would be pretty awesome if they were! Newbie would make a great family dog for an active, adventurous family.

Story
Miracle was fittingly named after her rescue on Christmas Day. She was spotted clinging to brush in the middle of the freezing cold Kern River by one of Lucky’s Crew, who jumped in without hesitation to save her. She is estimated to be 2 years old and is 45 lbs. Miracle might be a bit shy at first but warms up quickly to a kind greeter. She is sweet and affectionate and enjoys down-time cuddles.. She loves to play with other dogs in a rough and tumble style with lots of tag-your-it chasing. She is high energy and would prefer daily walks/exercise. She has not been tested with cats but does have a high prey drive.
