Story
Meet our precious little hero Butterscotch. She is a Riverside Shelter survivor who was in danger for euthanasia due to having a seizure disorder. Butterscotch is a 1 year old Papillion/Corgi Mix and weighs about 12 lbs She’s a sweet girl with a beautiful smile and a beautiful spirit. She’s resilient and strong. We had her visit our vet for a thorough exam and testing. Good news is, they say there is a great possibility that she will grow out of her seizures (no guarantees). For the meantime, she has started treatment and they have been effective. She loves toys, she a social butterfly, she’s dog and cat friendly, she loves her walks, and enjoys time at the beach. She’s a happy girl with a beautiful spirit. She will bring her new family lots of love and joy. We are excited to help her find her new forever family. Adoption Interest applications are on our website www.jointhescars.org under “forms.”

Story
Canelo is an extremely sweet lab mix approximately 4-5 years old. He grabbed the hearts of multiple volunteers and staff at a shelter which allowed him time there that many dogs do not get. When a wonderful couple stepped in to foster Canelo having learned that he was going to be euthanized the next day, everyone was beyond thrilled and relieved. Canelo is quite a loving guy. He is a great dog. He loves riding in the truck to help Foster Dad drive Foster Mom to work. In fact, he loves car rides in general! When people see Canelo peeking through the back window they often pull out their phones to snap a picture. Singing Canelo's praises: He is great with the cat in the family. He likes to know where his people are in the house. We think he is so in love with being part of a family! He doesn't know all his commands yet (such as sit and stay) but he tries his best and makes an effort each time. He is very eager to please and extremely loyal once he becomes comfortable. He will surely be a wonderful companion for life. He walks well and can do a nice, slow jog, too. He doesn't pull and stays close. He doesn't react to people with items such as canes or with other dogs walking by for the most part. He is crate trained, too. Contact us today so we can continue going on and on about this wonderful dog. Better yet, plan to come meet him and see for yourself!

Story
Meet Gypsy the spaniel mix. She is 8 years old and ready for her forever home. She lives with a dog trainer who is her foster. Her first seven years were rough. She was outdoors and neglected. She was very fearful of all people - they never cared for her or gave her a reason to trust. She has come a long way. Check out her video. Please give us a call or email us. We'd love to tell you more!
