Story
Adoption fee fully sponsored on behalf of Bella Jer Bear is a handsome brown and black pit who is 4 years old and weighs 63.6 lbs. He’s currently at Butte Humane Society after coming to us from another shelter, so we’re still getting to know him, but he’s already stealing hearts. Jer Bear is very sweet, incredibly affectionate, and a total cuddle bug. He still has some puppy-like playful energy and loves playing with toys just as much as he loves snuggling. He’s also very food motivated and already knows how to sit, making him eager and fun to work with. This great boy is looking for a caring, loving home where he can continue to learn, play, and soak up all the love he deserves. If you’re looking for a sweet, playful companion with a gentle heart, Jer Bear may be your perfect match. Come down to Butte Humane Society to meet this kind- hearted boy! 💛 All dogs that are adopted from Butte Humane Society come microchipped, spayed or neutered, up to date on vaccines, placed on preventions for heartworm, and flea and tick-borne illnesses. Story
Meet Tanji! Tanji is a 2.5-year-old Dutch Shepherd/Boxer mix (breed is a best guess based on appearance and not guaranteed) with a gentle heart and a lovable personality. He was originally adopted as a young puppy, and due to a change in living circumstances, he was returned to the shelter so he could be well cared for until his next forever family comes along. Tanji has tested well with another female dog here at the shelter and has a history of doing well with other dogs. He could go home with cats and has previously lived successfully with children. Tanji knows his basic manners, though he can be a bit shy at times as he warms up—but once he does, his affectionate side shines through. He’s especially charming when he forgets his size and insists, he’s a lap dog. Tanji is ready for a loving home where he can feel secure, cherished, and part of the family again. Tanji would thrive best with dogs that are calm. Bite Disclaimer: Small bite occurred during a social adoption event; Tanji was overstimulated and nipped the hand of a volunteer when being harnessed. All dogs that are adopted from Butte Humane Society come microchipped, spayed or neutered, up to date on vaccines, placed on preventions for heartworm, and flea and tick-borne illnesses. Story
Meet Yuki, a 7-month-old Pitbull/Boxer/Pointer mix (breed is a best guess and not guaranteed) who is searching for a patient and loving family to help him grow into the amazing dog he’s meant to be. Yuki is available for adoption at Butte Humane Society. Yuki is a sweet and sensitive pup with a gentle soul. While he can be a little shy with people at first, other dogs are his comfort zone. He’s truly a “dog’s dog” and loves connecting with canine companions, quickly making friends and gaining confidence around them. Because of this, Yuki would do best in a home with another friendly dog, or with adopters who have a clear plan to add a second dog in the future. New environments can sometimes spook Yuki, so he’ll need a patient and understanding owner who will help him acclimate to home life. With consistency, kindness, and reassurance, he will continue to build confidence. Daily exercise, basic training, and positive socialization—always at Yuki’s pace—will help him thrive. Yuki may also do well with cats if slow and thoughtful introductions are used. Older kids who want to participate in his training and growth would likely be a great match, but a home with very young children may be overwhelming for him. He’ll also do best with a family who has the time to help him settle in, rather than a household where everyone is away working long hours. If you’re looking for a loyal companion who loves other dogs and just needs a little patience to shine, Yuki may be the perfect addition to your family. Come meet him at Butte Humane Society and see if he’s the friend you’ve been waiting for. 🐾Older Kids All dogs that are adopted from Butte Humane Society come microchipped, spayed or neutered, up to date on vaccines, placed on preventions for heartworm, and flea and tick-borne illnesses. Story
Adoption fee fully sponsored in honor of Kevin Ward Come and take Shasta home! A 3-year-old 50 lb American Staffordshire Terrier mix, this girl is athletic, energetic, loves a good swim and is ready to take on an adventure. Each dog adopted from Butte Humane Society is spayed/neutered up to date on vaccines and preventatives, socialized and eagerly waiting their forever family. What my foster has to say: "I took Shasta for a bedtime foster, and she did fantastic! She rides in the car really well. She’s a bit toy-crazy, so any future adopter should have tough toys for her, as she loves to chew. She often brings her toy onto your lap to chew on, but if you tell her to go lay down with it, she listens right away. Shasta has excellent manners! She doesn’t jump up or get on counters. She’s potty trained and did great with regular potty breaks at my house. During dinner, she showed wonderful manners again, while my husband and I were eating, she just went and laid down quietly. At bedtime, she slept in the bed all night. She was a bit of a bed hog, but I didn’t mind! I think her ideal home would be one without other animals, and with older (teenage) children, a single adult, or a couple."
