Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Cuddly PalRodrick is a 55lb Lab/Weimaraner mix. Rodrick is such a sweet pal of a dog! He loves playing with his 4-legged sister, watching sports while snuggling on the couch, taking walks in the neighborhood and local parks, long car rides, and hanging out while his foster dad works on his computer.   He has learned that "Sit" is a great default position and he is working on learning his name for recall as well as "Place" and "Down". Rodrick is an enthusiastic learner and shines as he strives to please his human friends!   We do not know why Rodrick landed in the shelter, but he is still learning to be trusting of the world and of strangers. Moments of chaos or surprising appearances of unknown people are very stressful for Rodrick. While on leash he is also unsure about other dogs, bicycles, skateboards or runners. He is working with his foster dad and a trainer to work on his reactivity and learn to trust new people and has made good progress in the past month.   Rodrick is seeking a home where there is some predictability and a calm environment. He connects deeply with a few people, and needs slow introductions to new people. SVPP is working with a trainer and helping Rodrick to learn that he can be safe when the unexpected happens. Continuing training support will be provided to his adopter. Prior to adoption, all dogs are spayed/neutered, tested for heartworm, vaccinated (including rabies, if age appropriate) and microchipped.   Adoption fees for dogs: http://www.svpetproject.org/info/adoption Stay up-to-date on what our dogs are up to by following us on Facebook!  https://www.facebook.com/svpetproject SVPP thanks Alec Khanna photography for assistance in taking photos of our adoptable pets.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.December 15, 2024, 6:19 pm

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Handsome, calm gentlemanTustin is a 76lb, approx 6 year old American Pitbull Terrier mix. Sweet Tustin was not given the best chances in his life. Tustin is resilient and loyal. He may have been through a lot, but his spirit remains strong. Tustin would thrive in a calm, solo and understanding home with experienced dog handlers who can provide structure without overwhelming him. He will do best in a home without other pets and no small children. Slow introductions with polite humans work best for him. Loud noises and barking dogs are particularly challenging for Tustin. Indoors he likes a mix of mental stimulation, like treat hide-and-seek and quiet background music to relax and nap to after an outing. Despite his quiet outlook, Tustin is an active boy. He needs 3-6 walks daily and likes quiet hikes above the beach, or thru the forest, followed by plenty of rest. Once he trusts someone, he’s very dedicated, and he shows this in subtle ways, like choosing to be close by or resting comfortably. He’s sensitive to his surroundings and appreciates the simple things like a quiet nap, walks and music. One of Tustin’s biggest challenges has been his reactivity to other dogs and some humans. With consistent training and trust building exercises, he’s made a lot of progress but there is more work to do. He’s the best when he is at home; it is his safe spot. We’re proud of how far he’s come, and we know he’ll continue to improve with love and patience. Tustin is on a prescription kidney diet and takes daily medications for his arthritis and incontinence. He takes his medications well and eats his special diet enthusiastically. When Tustin arrived with SVPP he had a tumor that was malignant, but we were able to have it fully excised. He should be protected from sun exposure and kept out of direct sun most of the time. Prior to adoption, all dogs are spayed/neutered, tested for heartworm, vaccinated (including rabies, if age appropriate) and microchipped.   Adoption fees for dogs: http://www.svpetproject.org/info/adoption Stay up-to-date on what our dogs are up to by following us on Facebook!  https://www.facebook.com/svpetprojectVisit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.December 12, 2024, 12:18 am

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Honey is an approximately 1.5 year-old, 18 pound best of all breeds, AKA a mutt. Sweet Honey was found in a field with a group of 6 pups so she really loves the company of other dogs, but is also a champion snuggler who loves to groom her foster momma's hair!. Honey is an extraordinarily sweet dog. She is so affectionate, she seeks out physical contact as much as possible, preferably on your lap or chest. When she’s feeling playful, she loves to play fetch or play with squeaky toys.  Under our veterinarian's guidance, Honey started anti-anxiety medication and it has helped her tremendously, particularly during times of transition. Adopter will need to continue this medication and work with their veterinary partner to monitor Honey's medication needs.  Do you have the time and patience to help Honey continue to learn what it feels like to be safe, relaxed and loved? Please fill out an application today! Prior to adoption, all dogs are spayed/neutered, tested for heartworm, vaccinated (including rabies, if age appropriate) and microchipped.   Adoption fees for dogs: http://www.svpetproject.org/info/adoption Stay up-to-date on what our dogs are up to by following us on Facebook!  https://www.facebook.com/svpetproject SVPP thanks Alec Khanna photography for assistance in taking photos of our adoptable pets.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.December 17, 2024, 6:10 pm

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Happy boy loves toys!Wally is a 7ish year-old, 18 pound Poodle mix. Sweet Wally loves living with other small dogs! He loves the company and gains confidence in their company. This special boy is still working through some medical issues, but he has made great strides in his foster home and has been doing very well - he was even brave enough to get groomed recently! Wally can find meeting new people to be stressful, especially strangers entering his home or strange dogs while he is out and about on leash. He and his foster mom are currently working with a trainer to help Wally navigate these scary situations and a few sessions with the trainer will be provided to his adoptive family to help make his transition smooth. Once you are in his pack? Wally is all smiles and love! If you have a small pack who needs a second or third to make your home complete, please consider sweet Wally and fill out an application to meet this special little boy! Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Sweet Puppy!Dot is a 10.8 lb, spayed, 8 month-old Chihuahua/Terrier mix puppy.  If you want a fun sidekick, with the cutest forehead wrinkles, the longest little legs and a nose for adventure, meet Dot! Dot was the tiniest pup in her litter but she made sure she found her breakfast, lunch and dinner squeezing in between her larger littermates. Dot was born under a shed to a very sweet abandoned mama chihuahua mix who did a good job of keeping her little babies safe and warm. When mama and her 2 week old puppies were discovered, they were brought to safety where they were raised in a loving foster home. Dot is a confident girl, who loves to learn, is super motivated for treats and its just hard not to look at her and smile or laugh at her antics. She might be a good candidate for agility as she has lots of energy and likes to explore! She loves her walks and we are working on her leash manners. Dot will need a watchful eye as she likes to adventure.  Once the wiggles are out, Dot is a world class snuggler and is super affectionate. Dot is crate trained and potty trained in her foster home but as with any new situation, dogs/puppies will have accidents and there will be adjustment period as they learn their new environment. Prior to adoption, all dogs are spayed/neutered, tested for heartworm, vaccinated (including rabies, if age appropriate) and microchipped.   This is a Courtesy Listing. Dot is being f ostered in Sunnyvale. Email  K9reunite@gmail.com  or complete an adoption application for more info. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Sweet girl is settling inLucy is a 2 year-old, spayed, Labrador Retriever mix. Sweet Lucy landed in the shelter with a number of wounds on her head and neck. She fully recovered from the injuries and is doing incredibly well settling into home life after almost 6 months in the shelter. The only reminder of her injuries is a head tilt that adds to her cuteness. We believe Lucy spent much of her early life living outside with other dogs, so she would do well in a home with an older dog or two who can show her the ropes of home life. Even on her own, she is doing very well and learning new skills every day. Lucy does great on car rides, walks beautifully on leash and sits at every corner! While she is nervous about the world, she is extremely affectionate with her trusted humans and is quickly learning how to live in a house with folks who truly love her.  Prior to adoption, all dogs are spayed/neutered, tested for heartworm, vaccinated (including rabies, if age appropriate) and microchipped.   Adoption fees for dogs: http://www.svpetproject.org/info/adoption Stay up-to-date on what our dogs are up to by following us on Facebook!  https://www.facebook.com/svpetproject Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.December 17, 2024, 2:30 pm
