Story
Diesel’ birthday is October 15. He was born in 2022. He is 2 years old, cuddly, and makes sure your feet are warm as he likes to be close to you. He goes to doggy daycare 4-5 days a week on a ranch of 2 acres and gets lots of socialization with people and dogs! He grew up with 2 cats and has grown to be patient with them, but when it comes to sleep time, Diesel likes to make sure he is snuggled with the kitty or at least have a part of his body touching the kitty. Diesel is incredibly smart and loves to be called a good boy! Even when he does something silly and not supposed to (in human terms) he learns best with a calm demeanour. He is an amazing dog and has come an incredibly long way in such a short time of training. He needs a place where there is room to run and play.

Story
I bet the majority of us have always wanted a Steve in our life. And that Steve is most likely a super cool guy who you just want to be around because he emits goodness no matter the time of day. Steve the dog is no different than the Steve you know. He is a super cool guy, despite the past that should've been kinder to him. Steve is a loving, big soft fluff, who unlike many dogs of his breed, does not vocalize a lot. Steve is a smart, active, well-trained local dog that fell upon hard times and that resulted in a lot of fear and confusion. He was often tied with a short chain to a cinder block and left outside. The last time he had been outside for a walk was unknown. His world had become very very very small and Steve shut down. This naturally resulted in resource guarding and reactivity - which culminated in a bite when someone tried to remove food in a bowl from near him. The owners tried to surrender him to various groups but no one wanted him as a result of the bite and the only offer was euthanasia. Thankfully we at Mountainside gave Steve a chance to show us his true colors. We quickly saw that he was loving - but so scared and confused. Through months of training, exercise and monitored socialization, Steve has started to make friends and is becoming more himself as each day goes by. He has had the wonderful fortune of being in foster care and then being very loved by our boarding facility partners that have given him the incredible opportunity to meet new dogs and learn how to be a dog again. Steve is working hard on making progress through some of his issues and though he has come so far, he will need his person to continue to help him along his journey. At this time we think the best fit would be an adult only family that is home more often than not. He has lived with other dogs in the past but isn't ready for that yet. Steve is a stunning, kind boy who would be a perfect match for someone who is patient, and willing to put in the work to give him the best kind of life. At the end of the day, he's just Steve, a super cool guy, who deserves a super cool life.

Story
Currently being fostered in Vancouver, BC. Introducing Bruno, an adorable and energetic 7/8-month mixed breed. While Bruno may be the smallest pup of his litter, he has shown that he has a big personality and an even bigger heart. Bruno is full of spunk and loves to play with other dogs and humans. He absolutely adores long walks on the trails and finding the most impossibly large stick to carry around proudly. After a long walk, Bruno will shower you with kisses and happily curl up in a big pile of blankets. As a young pup, he is still getting comfortable and confident meeting new people (especially when it's dark out) but he is eager to learn and even more eager to please. Bruno and his siblings were found on the streets by our rescue partners, and his parents are unknown. He is now neutered and up to date on his vaccines; ready to become a part of his forever family. We suspect he'll grow to be a medium-large dog (approx. 45-55lbs) who will do best in an active home with a family that will take him on lots of walks, adventures and provide him with the training to be his best dog self.

Story
Meet Taffy! Location: Squamish, BC Age: 1 Year 4 months old Are you an experienced handler ready for a devoted, loving, and energetic pup? Look no further! Taffy is a Belgian Malinois, American Pitbull Terrier, Dutch Shepherd mix. She is one of the sweetest dogs you will ever meet once she is comfy with you! She loves a cuddle. Energy: Taffy loves to zoomie. She is extremely agile and loves to jump on things. Although she loves getting exercise, she also loves a treat puzzle at home and having a big ol' nap. She's medium energy level and always stoked for an adventure. Intelligence: Taffy is incredibly smart and playful. Always eager to please, she will give you think "working look and is ready to learn something new. She will need someone who is willing to teach her new things and work with her on a daily basis. She knows too many commands to list here! From side to licking and drinking on command, she will pretty much master anything you teach her. Gentle & Loving: Once Taffy warms up to you, she will be by your side forever. It takes her a while to gain trust with people. But once she does, she is an absolute sweetheart. Canine Companionship: Taffy gets along well with other dogs when properly introduced. She has reacted to off leash dogs when they run up to her. Kids: She has had some minor interactions with young kids and does not seem fond of them. Older kids would be fine as long as they respect her boundaries. Cats: She has seen some cats outside and at the training facility. She is intrigued by them and doesn't seem too bothered. Special Needs & Requirements: Taffy was rescued from a beach in Mexico. She has stranger danger, but warms up to people over time. She is muzzle trained, and we let her say hello to people with it on. She likes many people, but she does have a bite history. In her defence, the person went to pick her up and was at eye level. She hasn't had any major issues since her initial bite, we have been working with a behaviouralist dog trainer, and she has made progress. It's important to note that she is most reactive in the car. She can fixate on things outside and growl or bark from inside the car. Taffy is still working on a few things in terms of training, she loves her crate, but has had a little bit of anxiety 2 times in the crate where she has pulled a blanket into the crate. She has incredibly improved with her reactivity but needs someone willing to help her continue on her training. She takes a few times to be comfortable with new people and must be appropriately managed. We would love to help support her future family in her handling so she can continue to become the dog we know she can be. Taffy needs a dedicated owner who understands her breed and is committed to continuing her training and providing the mental and physical stimulation she craves. Taffy has gone through tons of professional training, over 10 hours of class training, and countless hours of at home training. We are excited to show her potential furever family how lovely of a dog she is!

Story
Nala is a small, spunky mixed-breed dog with a heart as big as her personality. Originally from the streets of Mexico, Nala's early months were tough, but she's proven to be a resilient little survivor! Now in Canada, Nala has embraced life in a home, and she's loving every minute of it. This energetic girl is full of life and joy! She adores chasing bugs around the yard and will keep you entertained with her athletic, playful nature. Nala is a quick learner and has already made big strides in her potty training and leash walking. She's still improving, but with a little patience and guidance, she's well on her way. Nala is gentle with cats and loves to play, but she's a bit selective when it comes to other dogs and strangers. That said, she's very responsive to corrections and warms up quickly once she feels comfortable. If you're looking for a fun-loving, energetic companion who will brighten your days with her adventurous spirit, Nala might just be your perfect match! Give this brave little soul the forever home she deserves.
