Story
Hopper is a sweet and affectionate dog who is looking for his forever home. He came into our care when his previous owners were no longer able to take care of him. Once Hopper bonds with his people, he loves to be around them. He spends most of his day in our offices and is a great work from home and office dog. Hopper loves going out on long and slow walks, taking in all the sniffs and sunshine. He was not accustomed to receiving treats but is slowly learning to accept them and be the spoiled dog that he deserves to be!Hopper has seasonal allergies that require some medical care to keep him comfortable via ongoing medications. He has food sensitivities, so he will need to be on a limited ingredient diet (currently on duck and fish). Additionally, he is working through some skin issues and will require regular medicated baths to soothe his dry skin until it is back on track.Hopper is looking for a loving home where he can be the center of attention and receive the care he needs. If you're ready to give Hopper the loving home he deserves, come meet this special guy! Please note Hopper is a big boy weighing almost 100lbs. Thank you for your interest in adopting! Do you think you could be Hopper's person? Apply today!https://spca.bc.ca/adoption/dog-pre-adoption-questionnaire/Submit an online pre-adoption questionnaire and staff will contact the first suitable adopter to set-up a visit.Due to the high number of applications, we will only be contacting potential matches to further review their interest.PLEASE NOTE that some animals may not be available for public viewing due to limited shelter space, medical and behavioral reasons, or other contributing factors. Story
Meet Paisley! Paisley came into our care with a broken leg and pelvis that is still healing. She was hit by a car and our vets worked their hardest to save her leg and we succeeded! She is well into recovery and now looking for a foster to adopt who can help her on her journey to forever. Paisley is about as sweet as they come, loves her people, is quick to give kisses to everyone she meets, and gets along well with other dogs. Now that she is mostly healed, she loves to run and play again. Paisley is a very high energy dog that will need a home that can provide a lot of enrichment. She loves the outdoors, but Paisley is also a great home office companion and likes to stay entertained with food enrichment such as stuffed Kong's and bones. Paisley will require daily medication and more vet visits going forward and will need an adopter with a flexible schedule. Paisley has developed some reactivity towards cars and bicycles, and will need an adopter that can use Animal Kind training techniques to work on this with her. In the meantime, Paisley would do best with an adopter that is fit and strong to help manage the behaviour, and ideally lives in a quiet neighbourhood. Thank you for your interest in adopting! Do you think you could be Paisley's person? Apply today!TIP: We strongly suggest all applicants to write a little bit about themselves when prompted.https://spca.bc.ca/adoption/dog-pre-adoption-questionnaire/The Victoria Center is open for in-person adoption viewings Tuesday through Sunday, 12pm to 4pm, staff and animal well-being permitting.Paisley is not available for viewing due to her medical condition. Interested adopters must apply before meeting her. Animals cannot be held for potential adopters for more than 24 hours without a legitimate reason.
