Story
Meet Dennis:Dennis came to the BC SPCA Kelowna Centre from Dog Control where he was never claimed by an owner. He is now here awaiting a new family who will give him the love, companionship and security he's wants and so deserves. We know nothing of his background but we are happy to share what we have learned in the short time he's been with us. He is friendly, playful and active. Dennis knows some basic commands such as "sit" and "come", but he is still young and will need to strengthen those skills which would be a bonding experience with his new guardian. He's been described as having a "spunk spirit". We confident he will quickly become a great faithful, fun loving companion. If you're looking for a canine companion who will fill your life with joy, Dennis is ready to bring his warmth and affection into your home. Please complete an online Dog Pre-Adoption Questionnaire at:https://spca.bc.ca/adoption/dog-pre-adoption-questionnaire/Walk-Ins are welcome - The Centre is open Tuesday - Saturday Noon to 4 pm (except for Stat Holidays) Primary Color: Tan Secondary Color: White Weight: 16.3 Age: 1yrs 0mths 0wks

Story
Meet Shayla, This sweet girl came to us through dog control so we don't know a ton about her history. Shayla is looking for her retirement home where she can live out her golden years in luxury. This is what her foster has to say about her: "She's super sweet! She can be a little cautious with new people, but once she warms up to you she is like you're little shadow. Shyla is super snuggly too. When you come home or when it's food time she bounces around like a puppy and gets so excited!"If this sweet senior could be the one for you please a online Dog Pre-Adoption Questionnaire at:https://spca.bc.ca/adoption/dog-pre-adoption-questionnaire/As Shyla is currently in foster, a pre adoption questionnaire needs to be filled out for us to book a meet and greet. Story
Meet Peach! This sweet girl came to us as a stray, so we don't know a ton about her history. She's a young, energetic Australian Shepherd and Husky mix with a heart full of love and enthusiasm. Peach is highly food motivated, which makes her a fast learner when training, though she is still working on improving her manners, particularly with her tendency to jump up in excitement. This playful pup thrives in active environments and would do best in a home where she can get plenty of exercise and mental stimulation. Whether it's long walks, hikes, or playing fetch, Peach loves outdoor adventures and would make a great companion for someone who enjoys being active. While she's a sweet and affectionate dog, her new family should continue working on her impulse control and basic commands, especially using positive reinforcement to address her jumping behavior. Peach previously lived with another dog and should do well in a home with a canine companion, though a meet and greet between Peach and any potential dog siblings is necessary before making a final decision. With the right guidance and consistency, we are confident Peach will become a well-mannered, loyal companion. She is looking for a home where she can channel her energy in a positive way and with the right commitment to force-free positive reinforcement training, she will be an amazing addition to any family. Peach has a spay appointment booked for December 2nd and will need to be a foster-to-adopt until that time.If you are interested in her please come and meet her at the Centre - we're open for walk-in viewing Tuesday to Saturday Noon - 4 pm (except for Stat Holidays).Sundays and Mondays are by appointment only. Primary Color: Cream Secondary Color: Tan Weight: 10 Age: 0yrs 6mths 1wks

Story
Charlie is a young, energetic, and strong male dog who came to us as a stray, so we don't know much about his past. He's a true goofball, full of playful energy and always up for fun. While he may not be fully housetrained or socialized to everything yet, he's very responsive to positive reinforcement, especially with food rewards. Charlie loves playing tug of war and running around with his rope toy, shaking it with excitement. He's still learning some manners, like not jumping up, but he can easily be redirected with a treat scatter or by asking him to sit. Charlie has been making great progress with force-free training methods in the shelter, and he'll thrive in a home with a dedicated owner willing to continue his training and socialization. We're unsure how he would do with other dogs or animals, so if a family with another dog is interested in adopting him, a meet-and-greet will be required to ensure they are compatible and safe to go home together. With his goofy personality and eagerness to please, Charlie is sure to become a loving and loyal companion for the right person or family who can give him the time, attention, and structure he needs. He is not neutered yet, but he has an appointment booked to be neutered on Dec 5th, so he would have to be a foster to adopt until that appointment. If you believe this goofy, handsome boy is the furever family friend you are looking for, please complete an online Dog Pre-Adoption Questionnaire at:https://spca.bc.ca/adoption/dog-pre-adoption-questionnaire/Walk-Ins are welcome - The Centre is open Tuesday - Saturday Noon to 4 pm (except for Stat Holidays) Primary Color: Fawn Secondary Color: Brown Weight: 28.8 Age: 1yrs 0mths 0wks

Story
Meet Jake, a sweet and gentle senior Bichon Frise who is looking for a loving home to call his own. Jake came to us as an owner surrender through no fault of his own, and he's ready to bring joy to his new family.Jake is a quiet little boy - you'll hardly know he's around. He's content to follow you from room to room - like a little shadow, enjoying your companionship and offering his own in return. He's a big fan of belly rubs and will happily roll over for some attention.Despite his age, Jake is still enthusiastic about his walks, eagerly meeting other dogs along the way. He's also housetrained, and when there's a treat involved, he'll gladly show off his sit!During the day, Jake curls up in his favourite chair for a peaceful nap. At night, he loves to sleep at the end of your bed, close to you. His gentle nature and snuggly demeanour make him a fantastic companion.Jake may not have any teeth left, but he has plenty of love to give. Story
Are you looking for a four-legged BFF?? A pooch who's totally in her "Happy Place" just being by your side?? A buddy to go on leisurely walks with and then snuggle up on the couch with?? If so, then I AM YOUR GIRL!! My name is Calla, my nickname is "Cutie Pie". I'm a Chihuahua weighing just 8lbs & standing a mere 12" at my shoulders. I'm 11-years young with TONS of LOVE to give! I'm not a complicated lady …..I'm searching for someone special to spend my future years with. A loving, kind & gentle human(s) who will keep me safe and love me to BITS! A quiet home with no other pets b/c truly, I don't want to share my person/people. I can be okay meeting other dogs, but growl at them. I haven't been around children ~ older kids might be okay but perhaps an adult only home is best. I love being outside and enjoy going for walks. I'm well-mannered on leash. I have access to my kennel at all times and, I like it that way ( the door is always open). I have my own room at my foster's home with my kennel, dishes and even a pee pad in case of an emergency. However, as long as I'm taken out at regular intervals, I am Golden! I don't mind going outside to do my business, I just need my person to set a fairly frequent schedule. I don't play with toys ~ "been there, done that". I'd much rather be where you are collecting as many pets & cuddles as possible! I'm in retirement mode so I do enjoy napping throughout the day. When I'm not napping, I can be found next to you ~ hopefully, cuddling!! When I do feel a bit frisky, I can be coaxed into doing a little "doggie dance" for you which will certainly make you smile! To sum me up..…….I'm a very sweet Cuddle-Bug who is looking for MY two-legged BFF! If that could be you, please apply to meet me SOON! In Adoration, Calla
