Story
Meet Missy! This four-year-old chatterbox is looking for an experienced, active home where she can thrive. Missy loves to talk-whether it's barking, howling, or just expressing her thoughts on the day. Her future family will need to be ready to embrace her vocal nature while also helping her work on her excessive barking with guidance from an AnimalKind trainer.Missy would do best in a calm, adult-only home with a consistent routine. A stay-at-home guardian would be ideal, as she's still working on feeling comfortable when left alone. She needs lots of exercise and a secure, fenced yard where she can stretch her legs. One of Missy's absolute favourite things? Fetch! She is an expert at the game and could chase a tennis ball for hours. If you're looking for a dedicated fetch partner, Missy is your girl! While she is not a fan of cats, Missy could potentially live with another friendly dog after a slow, proper introduction. With the right match, she might just find a buddy to share her stories with!Missy is looking for a dedicated home that will help her build confidence while appreciating her quirky, vocal personality. If you're ready for a lively, loving companion who will always keep the conversation going, Missy might be your perfect match! Story
Jesse is a sweet and charming senior pup looking for a loving retirement home where he can enjoy his golden years. At his core, Jesse is the perfect gentleman-polite, affectionate, and devoted to his people. While he's tolerant of some dogs, he prefers smaller canine friends and needs slow introductions. Larger dogs can bring out some reactive behaviors, so careful management will be important. Jesse isn't a fan of cats and would do best in a feline-free home.Don't let his senior status fool you-Jesse still has plenty of pep in his step! He loves long walks, hikes, and playtime, and he's always up for an adventure with his favorite humans. Whether exploring the great outdoors or snuggling up at home, Jesse's zest for life is infectious.Jesse thrives in a quiet environment with a structured routine. He would do best in a home with an experienced dog owner who can provide stability, manage slow introductions to other dogs, and work on his reactivity toward large dogs. He also needs controlled introductions to unfamiliar visitors to help him feel safe and secure. Due to past experiences, his new family must be aware of all incidents in previous foster homes and be ready to continue his training and support. This gentle old soul has a touch of separation anxiety, so he's hoping to find someone who works from home, is retired, or loves having a loyal companion by their side. While he carries a few "distinguished gentleman" lumps and bumps, Jesse has been given a clean bill of health by his vet and is ready to embark on this next chapter of life.If you're ready to open your heart and home to a senior pup who still has so much love to give, Jesse is eager to meet you! Story
Meet Theo! Theo is a 4 year old Border Collie/Lab x searching for his furrever home! This sweet, affectionate boy has a heart of gold, and a big ol' belly for you to rub for good luck! He loves nothing more than to chase after balls and toys, and just may be the best fetcher in the west! He's obedient, patient, and knows all his basic commands and is eager to please.Theo has some previous trauma, which has unfortunately led to some strong reactivity to other dogs. He will need an active experienced owner who is committed and patient and is willing and capable of working on this issue using positive reinforcement techniques. Because of his breed, Theo will need an abundance of mental and physical stimulation to keep him happy, healthy and out of mischief! He is currently on a diet to help him lose weight and will need to continue this in his new home. Maintaining a healthy weight is crucial for any dog, as it effects their joints and can lead to serious injuries and health issues. If you think Theo could be a good fit for you, please fill out an application below.https://spca.bc.ca/adoption/dog-pre-adoption-questionnaire/ Primary Color: Black Weight: 44.8 Age: 4yrs 1mths 0wks

Meet Lady! This six-year-old dynamo is looking for an active, experienced home where she can thrive. Lady is full of energy, incredibly smart, and always ready for playtime. She loves a structured routine and would do best with calm, patient guardians who can provide consistency and plenty of exercise. A stay-at-home guardian would be ideal, as she's still working on feeling comfortable when left alone.Lady has lived with other dogs before but prefers her own space-especially during mealtime. She's a social girl but would do best in a home without young children. She's currently working on polite greetings (she can be a bit jumpy when excited!) and would benefit from guidance from an AnimalKind trainer to help her be the best version of herself. One of Lady's favourite things? Stuffies! She loves carrying them around, tossing them in the air, and snuggling up with them after a long day of fun. She also enjoys being pampered and will happily soak up attention during grooming sessions. If you're looking for an active, intelligent, and affectionate companion, Lady might just be the perfect match for you! Story
Meet Berry, a sweet, cuddly, and playful companion looking for her forever home! This little cutie, about the size of a heeler, may start off shy, but once she trusts you, her affectionate and joyful personality shines. Berry loves zooming around, playing games of fetch, and exploring, but she's just as happy to curl up for a cozy cuddle session.Berry enjoys the company of other dogs and seems to gain confidence around them, but she has a bit of a jealous streak-she isn't a fan of sharing her toys or her people. This is something that could improve with time and training, but she may also prefer to be the only pup in the home. She needs a patient and understanding family willing to help her build confidence at her own pace.If you're looking for a loyal and loving companion who will blossom with time and care, Berry might be the perfect match for you!If you're interested in applying, fill out an application at https://adopt.spca.bc.ca/.
