Story
Young Kia, born May 2025 weighs 13 pounds and likely will be a medium sized dog. Sadly despite her young age, she did not have an easy start. Very young she was dumped, and taken in by nearby residents – but they also didn’t care for her – leaving her full of fleas and ticks. Our sister sanctuary the SPCA PV got word that she was in need and managed to fit her into the shelter. Kia is an energetic pup, with a rough and tumble play style, which can be a lot for other dogs, so she might be a solo adventure dog in her home. She plays best with bigger dogs. She was tested with cats and wasn’t afraid, but also a bit over zealous, so might be too much of a party for many cats. Kia has been enjoying some pool time at the shelter, and has become a good swimmer. You can check out her pool adventures here: https://www.facebook.com/share/r/16rxiGaqvo/. In her brief stay in a home she was ok alone, loved to play, and didn’t chew things. Kia is now healthy and vaccinated and is looking for a real family to call her own. She has options to fly to BC or Alberta. If you think you might be a fit either as her forever home or as a foster, she’d love to hear from you at pvcaadoptions@gmail.com, or you can go straight to our application: https://forms.office.com/r/b1Fkq3u4zw (Please check your spam folder for our response).

Story
Introducing the sleek lean (and stunning!) Jimmina. She is a one year old lab x whippet who weighs in at 31 lbs and looks like a leaner smaller version of a lab. She has a lovely temperament with joy in her stride. She is very friendly with people. She is good with other dogs and enjoys playtime with her friends, though naturally is scared of the territorial dogs outside the shelter who come out with menace. Jimmina is also good with cats. She will wow you with her speedy zoomies, only to run back to your feet for cuddles. She’d be a great adventure dog, but also very calm and quiet at home. She is smart, and eager to please. She is medium energy and a quiet girl who asks for little outside of some snuggles. Her youth and loving heart belongs with a loving family of her very own. If you think you might be her chance at a family, or foster along the way, we’d love to hear from you at pvcaadoptions@gmail.com. Please check your junk mail for our response.

Story
Meet Nube who is looking for a home. Nube is a 4.5 year old mixed breed, full grown at a perfect 45 lbs. We think she may be a lab cross, with a gorgeous white coat, and beautiful markings to round out her unique look. She shares space with other dogs and enjoys playtime in the yard with them. Nube is friendly and affectionate with shelter visitors with a lovely disposition. She is medium energy - with enough energy to keep up, but would also be grateful for some chill time to make up for missed cuddles. Mostly she would love her very own family. Nube hasn't been tested extensively with cats. She sees them without reacting, but for now, we will seek a home without cats to be sure. While Nube is lovely with people, she's not been specifically tested with kids. Nube is spayed and vaccinated. She is missing some of her front teeth - likely a result of escaping shackles or surviving on street scraps. If you think you might be a fit for this beauty, as her chance at a forever home, or as a foster along the way, she'd love to hear from you at pvcaadoptions@gmail.com

Story
Born June 2025, Berna and her siblings were puppies on the street far too young. Thankfully a kind stranger took them in for a few weeks while they waited for space to open up at the SPCA PV sanctuary in Puerto Vallarta. While we’re so happy she’s off the street, she belongs in a home with a family who loves her, Berna is the sleek lean black pup in the litter. Cutest little one ear up and one floppy going on catches everyone's attention. We think she’ll grow to about 30 lbs full grown. She is a mixed breed which may include terrier and pointer, but really she’s her own unique special girl. Berna is curious about cats, and wags her tail when she visits them. If you think you might be a good fit for this little star, either as her happy ever after, or as a foster along the way, we’d love to hear from you at pvcaadoptions@gmail.com. Story
Meet Rudy! The Reindeer Pup!Rudy is a 7-month-old Border Collie, Aussie, and Great Pyrenees mix with long legs, a soft coat, and a whole lot of puppy enthusiasm. Named after Rudolph, this big holiday baby is still learning how to steer all his excitement in the right direction, and he's practicing every day! He's playful, curious, and full of joyful chaos, and he's starting to figure out how to be the good boy he was destinated to be!Rudy is very much a growing puppy who's learning his manners, from keeping "four on the floor" to navigating doorways, new dogs, and new situations without letting his feelings take over. Sometimes the world is a little overwhelming, sometimes it's way too exciting, and sometimes he forgets how big he is. With patience, structure, and positive, Animal Kind training, he's making great progress. Toys are becoming his favorite thing, treats are highly motivating, and praise makes his tail go wild. This is Rudy's first Christmas, and like his reindeer namesake, he's hoping for a second chance to learn, grow, and shine. He's looking for a committed, loving human who's ready for a big puppy with big feelings, big energy, and an even bigger heart. If you're searching for a goofy, sensitive, wonderful pup to guide, train, and celebrate every win with, Rudy might just be the Christmas adventure you've been waiting for.Apply to see if you're his match! Story
MARVEL IS NOT IN OUR CENTRE - PLEASE SEND IN AN APPLICATION IF YOU ARE INTERESTED. Due to the influx of applications - we will ONLY call back the approved applications for more information. Thanks! Marvel is an affectionate, people-loving girl. From day one, she's shown just how deeply she bonds with her humans, she's a total love who wants nothing more than to be close to her people and feel secure. She enjoys playing with other dogs and can have dog friends, especially playful ones, but may be happiest as an only dog or with a dog-savvy companion who respects boundaries around food, toys, and attention. One thing to know about Marvel is that she experiences separation anxiety. When left alone, she can become worried, so she'll need a patient, understanding home committed to helping her feel safe. Short, structured absences, consistency, and continued training are already helping her succeed in foster care. Marvel is not well suited to condo or apartment living and would do best in a home where her people can be mindful of her needs and give her the time and support she deserves. In return, she offers endless affection, loyalty, and a deep connection to her humans, she's the kind of dog who truly wants to be part of your world.Marvel is still settling in, and we're learning more about her every day, but one thing is already clear: she is a wonderful, loving dog who will shine in the right home.Bonus fun fact: Marvel has discovered the joy of her very own "emotional-support fake human," which she proudly lounges on, proof that she has both a big heart and a great sense of humor💕 Primary Color: White Weight: 4.5 Age: 4yrs 6mths 1wks
