Story
Sweet Keisha is looking for a home. She is 40 lb shepherd x lab with a kind and brave soul, who just melts into the arms of those kind enough to give her affection. Keisha was found in Puerto Vallarta, skinny and hungry, trying to care for and protect her litter of 6 puppies. She had dug a small hole to hide them as she stood over them, chained up, until thankfully the angels of the SPCA PV came to rescue them. After her rescue, they learned that Keisha was also blind, they believe from poisoning. Keisha's pups all inherited her kind soul and affection for humans. And we hope that Keisha herself will find her own happiness. Naturally because she can't see, she enjoys sniffari walks, to take in the world around her, and would love a safe property to explore her world in between cuddles with a family that this time would love her. If you think you may be able to give Keisha a home, we'd love to hear from you at pvcaadoptions@gmail.com. You can also go directly to our application here: https://forms.office.com/r/b1Fkq3u4zw

Story
Beautiful husky girl Chiquita, born April 2023, is looking for a home. She is approximately 41 lbs. Her mum and littermates were often seen wandering in the area of the SPCA PV sanctuary and staff and volunteers saw them in deteriorating condition due to a diet heavy on garbage and took them in to give them the care they needed. After she got refuge in the sanctuary, she lived through a hurricane which heavily damaged the shelter, and she had temporary refuge in a home that unfortunately had a landlord that didn't allow dogs.. but in that time, she learned what a home is and what it is meant to be loved. Chiquita is an energetic girl so she’d love a yard with some space to burn off some zoomies but was in a foster home in an apartment. She loves the beach. Her foster mom just loved her, described her as a fast learner, and a great cuddler. She has learned basic commands - sit, come, waits to eat her food. She isn't destructive in the home and did well in the car. She is selective with other dogs, and can be reactive, and would squabble with her siblings. Kids make her nervous so she'd prefer a quiet adult home where she can learn more about the world. Chiquita would be best in a home without cats as she shows high prey drive. Video of Chiquita with her shelter friends: https://www.facebook.com/spcapv/videos/1401202434079126 She is now healthy and vaccinated. If you think you might be her happy home, please contact us at pvcaadoptions@gmail.com for more information. Chiquita is currently in Mexico but can fly to a Canadian home near you! Story
Pepper is a sweet and energetic young boy looking for his forever home! This little chili pepper can be a little timid at first and will need a a calm and patient person to teach him how much fun life can be. Pepper adores his people and loves getting scratches and pets, and warms up quickly to new people as long as there are lots of snuggles involved. He enjoys running around the yard and would thrive in an active home that can keep up with his playful spirit. Pepper is still learning how to walk properly on a leash, so he will need some Animal Kind positive reinforcement training in his new home. Coming from a home with other dogs, he may do well with a patient dog who enjoys having a friend around.Pepper would do best in a home with older or dog-savvy children who can understand his timid nature and help him gain confidence.Could Pepper be the perfect addition to your family? 🌶️ Primary Color: Black Weight: 24.4 Age: 0yrs 7mths 2wks

Story
Are you looking for a soft snuggly boy to join you on all your fun adventures? Diesel is a sweet and loving boy who's looking for a patient forever home that can help show him the world in a slow and safe way! Though he can be a little timid at first, once he warms up, Diesel becomes a total cuddle bug who adores getting scratches and attention. As a young dog, he's still learning how to walk on a leash, so his new family will need to continue his training using positive reinforcement, or even some classes with an Animal Kind trainer. He will need some ongoing training so he can catch up on the skills he hasn't had a chance to learn. The world can be a big place sometimes for a little pup like him and continued work on building his confidence will be key.He would do best in a home with older or dog savvy children as he's still quite bouncy and doesn't know his own strength. Diesel previously lived with other dogs and could do well with a patient canine friend who's willing to share their space. He is looking for a someone to be his rock and show him how fun new adventures can be. If you're looking for a loyal and affectionate companion, Diesel might be the perfect fit! Diesel is looking for a local home as he is still awaiting his neuter surgery. Primary Color: Tan Weight: 24.3 Age: 0yrs 7mths 2wks
