Story
Sweet Keisha is looking for a home. She is 40 lb shepherd x lab with a kind and brave soul, who just melts into the arms of those kind enough to give her affection. Keisha was found in Puerto Vallarta, skinny and hungry, trying to care for and protect her litter of 6 puppies. She had dug a small hole to hide them as she stood over them, chained up, until thankfully the angels of the SPCA PV came to rescue them. After her rescue, they learned that Keisha was also blind, they believe from poisoning. Keisha's pups all inherited her kind soul and affection for humans. And we hope that Keisha herself will find her own happiness. Naturally because she can't see, she enjoys sniffari walks, to take in the world around her, and would love a safe property to explore her world in between cuddles with a family that this time would love her. If you think you may be able to give Keisha a home, we'd love to hear from you at pvcaadoptions@gmail.com. You can also go directly to our application here: https://forms.office.com/r/b1Fkq3u4zw

Story
Beautiful husky girl Chiquita, born April 2023, is looking for a home. She is approximately 41 lbs. Her mum and littermates were often seen wandering in the area of the SPCA PV sanctuary and staff and volunteers saw them in deteriorating condition due to a diet heavy on garbage and took them in to give them the care they needed. After she got refuge in the sanctuary, she lived through a hurricane which heavily damaged the shelter, and she had temporary refuge in a home that unfortunately had a landlord that didn't allow dogs.. but in that time, she learned what a home is and what it is meant to be loved. Chiquita is an energetic girl so she’d love a yard with some space to burn off some zoomies but was in a foster home in an apartment. She loves the beach. Her foster mom just loved her, described her as a fast learner, and a great cuddler. She has learned basic commands - sit, come, waits to eat her food. She isn't destructive in the home and did well in the car. She is selective with other dogs, and can be reactive, and would squabble with her siblings. Kids make her nervous so she'd prefer a quiet adult home where she can learn more about the world. Chiquita would be best in a home without cats as she shows high prey drive. Video of Chiquita with her shelter friends: https://www.facebook.com/spcapv/videos/1401202434079126 She is now healthy and vaccinated. If you think you might be her happy home, please contact us at pvcaadoptions@gmail.com for more information. Chiquita is currently in Mexico but can fly to a Canadian home near you! Story
Bunny is currently in a foster home and not available for viewing in the shelter - Meet Bunny, a sweet mama who is ready to find a fur-ever family of her own. Bunny is a sweet girl who loves affection and attention, she's adventurous loves her walks and has amazing recall. She is still learning her basic manners, like sit, but lots of yummy treats and affection, she is happy to learn. Bunny at times can find other dogs on walks a bit overstimulating, so she just needs positive reinforcement training to build more confidence. She's not much for snuggles but always wants to be close and will follow you wherever you move in the house. She loves to play and has lots of youthful energy inside her still. All in all she is very loyal and loving and will make an amazing companion to some who can keep up with her ♥ Bunny is not yet spayed, so she will need a local foster to adopt family who is able to bring her back for her surgery date early December. Story
Goosey is a spirited 9-month-old Lab mix puppy with an endless supply of energy and a big heart! She's not only eager to learn but also highly motivated by treats, making training a joy for both her and you. Goosey is already learning to respond to cues like "sit" and "lie down," and she's a quick learner which makes training fun! However, she could use a bit of guidance when it comes to leash walking and learning not to jump up when she's excited, and would benefit with some puppy classes with an Animal Kind trainer. This sweet girl is a total cuddle bug and adores belly scratches-she truly just wants to be close to her people. Goosey seems to get along well with other dogs, so she may be a great fit in a home with a canine friend. Her enthusiastic personality makes her the perfect match for an active family who can give her lots of playtime, mental stimulation, and exercise.Due to her upcoming spay surgery, we're currently only accepting local applications. If you're looking for a loyal, loving, and lively companion, Goosey may be the perfect addition to your family! Primary Color: White Weight: 27.8 Age: 0yrs 9mths 1wks

Story
Lou is an adorable 8-month-old Pit Bull Terrier mix puppy with a heart full of love and an endless supply of energy! This affectionate boy is happiest when he's around people, showering them with puppy love and big smiles. Lou has a playful spirit and will need plenty of enrichment to keep his clever mind engaged. He's a perfect match for someone who can provide him with toys like Kongs and puzzle games, as well as long-leash walks to help him burn off energy while exploring his surroundings.Training is a positive experience for Lou, thanks to his food motivation! He's picking up cues like "sit" and showing great potential, though he'll need a bit more guidance in managing his excitement-especially when it comes to jumping up to say hello. Lou also needs some training with leash walking, as he sometimes pulls and jumps up when something catches his eye. With consistent training, his enthusiastic personality can be channeled into being the best buddy on walks and adventures.Lou has shown potential for getting along with other dogs and would likely enjoy having a canine companion. A meet-and-greet with any potential dog siblings would be a great way to ensure a happy match! Lou is still awaiting his neuter surgery, so for now, we're accepting only local applications. If you're ready for a loyal, lively companion who will keep you laughing and brighten your days, Lou could be the perfect addition to your family!
