Story
Alexa came to OOTW due to a conflict between her and another dog in the home. It's really a sad situation ... There is a small, bossy dog in the home, a 20-pound rat terrier, who obviously has a very small brain. She likes to taunt Alexa and that's just not working out ... for the rat terrier. Yet it continues. So, after every avenue has been exhausted to stop this behavior, the owners have decided to rehome Alexa so she can be in a more relaxed home and live the life she deserves! Alexa is a 71-pound purebred pitbull who is absolutely beautiful and loving. The case coordinator just met her today and kisses were eagerly given all around! We did a photo shoot and, wow, what a great model she was ... really showing off for the camera (as you can see!) We also took her to the vet to bring her current on all vetting and she was exceptional with the vet even though needles were involved! She rides well in a car, she's okay on leash and she's great with other dogs (unless they are bossy, in-your-face-barking/snapping dogs, like she lives with in her current home ... and honestly, she is fine with this dog unless the dog starts growling, snapping and barking in her face.). She really enjoys other dogs her own size and is eager to play, play, play! She is a super fast runner and loves circling the field with other dogs who like to run along side her! Alexa enjoys the water too and likes to wade and splash in water. We believe she would do well at a dog park and enjoy that immensely!Alexa is current on all vetting is heartworm negative. She is crate trained and will crate up the instant she is given her command! She is 100% house trained and knows basic commands. This girl is a beauty and just needs a home where she doesn't have to live with bratty little bossy dogs. Alexa is currently in a home with a 2 year old child and is just fine with the child. She's a beautiful girl with a beautiful personality! If you are interested in this sweet girl, please start with the adoption application. The link is just below. Adoption fee is $150!To make the best possible match for you and the pet, please follow the link below to complete the Adoption Application. Story
Niko was kept in an outdoor kennel as a puppy, with little chance to get out and play. So when you first meet him, he is shy for the first 30 minutes or so. After that, he warms up quickly and loves to snuggle in close for pets and love. Niko walks great on a leash and would make a great companion because of his loving disposition. That beautiful coat is only matched by his beautiful heart. He is currently living at a boarding facility because we haven't had a foster home open up. We would love for him to find an adoptive family, but at least, would love for someone to step up and foster him. Story
Dusty's journey began when he wandered up to a house in the countryside, a tiny ball of fur seeking shelter and companionship. Taken in as a puppy by kind-hearted individual, Dusty quickly became part of the family. Despite his endearing charm and striking appearance, he was somehow overlooked for adoption, leading him to grow from a curious pup into a lovable adult.Dusty is a beautiful blend of Shepherd and Husky traits, resulting in a unique and captivating personality. Despite his transition into adulthood, he maintains the playful exuberance and innocent curiosity of a puppy. Standing tall and proud, Dusty's large frame belies his gentle nature and affectionate disposition.Known for his gentle and sweet demeanor, Dusty is a true gentle giant. HE LOVES KIDS OF ALL AGES! Despite his impressive size, he is incredibly gentle and patient, especially when interacting with other dogs. Dusty's playful spirit make him an ideal companion for outdoor adventures and active play. Whether it's chasing after a frisbee in the park or exploring the great outdoors on long hikes, he eagerly embraces any opportunity for physical activity and exploration. Despite his size, Dusty moves with grace and agility, effortlessly navigating his surroundings with enthusiasm.Dusty adores snuggling up on the couch with his human companions, relishing in moments of quiet affection and warmth. He has a particular fondness for stuffed toys, happily engaging in playful antics and spirited games of tug-of-war. Dusty's playful nature and love for cuddles make him a cherished addition to any household seeking a loyal and affectionate canine companion. We believe Dusty was born around February, 2023 and he weighs around 55lbs.To make the best possible match for you and the pet, please follow the link below to complete the Adoption Application. Story
Patches came to OOTW with 7 siblings and everyone has a new home except him. He's been in our program since November 2023 and he is ready ... so ready to find his forever family.Patches has one problem ... he is skittish. He's a LOT better than he was when he first arrived. Although the puppies were handled a little when they were very young, they were not handled enough to be what we would consider "well socialized", therefore, this boy is just unsure about ... well, most everything. He is living in a home with many other dogs, which makes it tough for him to get the attention he needs, however, he does sleep in his foster's bed every night, or he will gladly sleep in a crate. He allows his foster mom to love on him, rub his belly, ears and give him kisses on his snout! But he is still jumpy with others in the home. What we are looking for is a home with maybe one other dog. He loves his foster brothers and sisters and enjoys playing chase and wrestling with them. He is completely house trained to a doggie door, and he is a polite dog, does not jump up on you or have any other bad behaviors. He is not a chewer and not destructive. This handsome boy is a bit thin (a trait of a hound), but a great eater and as he ages, he should continue to fill out ... adult weight should be around 50 pounds. He probably weighs about 40 pounds now. If you would like to give this boy a well-deserved home, start with our Adoption Application, you'll find the link just below. His adoption fee is $150 and this boy is fully vetted, been microchipped and heartworm negative. To make the best possible match for you and the pet, please follow the link below to complete the Adoption Application.
