Story
My daughter had to move and unable to take Roxie with her. She’s an amazing dog. Has mainly been an only dog until the last few weeks. However I have kept them separate. I am able to keep her temporarily but my living situation is not ideal for 2 dogs. She is the sweetest most loving dog and I want to find the best home for her. She is house trained, loves to be outside when it’s warm, loves walks and loves attention.

Story
Hey everyone, It is so very nice to meet you! My name is Hazel, what is yours? I am a major love bug who absolutely wants all the attention I can get! I get so excited when I see my favorite people; which is everyone, and I just jump and bounce and get so happy! I do not have much interest in toys, I would much rather be with you! I am very gentle with taking treats too, and honestly those are just the very best! I also listen very well, I would just be an awesome hiking buddy who would love to explore the world with you and see all the sights!I am going to be honest with you, I love people SO much, that I am not a huge fan of sharing. If you have any dogs I would be happy to meet them, but I will also be super content with it just being you and me! I would very much love to go with you wherever you go, but if there is somewhere you are going that I cannot come with, please be sure to have a nice bed for me in the house to snooze on while I wait for you. If I am in the yard I may try to climb out so I can be with you! I hope that sounds like a plan, because I am all for it! I hope you are interested in meeting me, because I am in the same boat!If you think Hazel would be an awesome fit for your lifestyle, please contact HSWM to learn more about her!

Story
Hi, I’m Kendra! My first interview question for my new person is: Do you have a car? I LOVE CARS! Car rides are my favorite thing in the world. Now that we have that out of the way, I’ll tell you a bit about me! I’m a Belgian Malinois, which I believe translates to “too smart for my own good.” I tend to think I am smarter than most dogs and most people too. I learn new skills very quickly and I love to have a challenge to keep my brain busy. I am an expert in “sit,” “up,” and “off” and new commands come pretty quickly to me, especially when treats are involved. I absolutely LOVE to play fetch with a basketball and I like to herd the ball around too! I am an older girl in number only, and I am not looking for a quiet retirement home to rest. Instead, I want a home where I can have mental stimulation, lots of exercise, and to be included in my new human’s activities. Sometimes I get excited and pull when I’m out on walks, but with a little reminder or two I’m back to walking nicely. I love my caregivers at the shelter, and I know once I meet my person I will bond very quickly and love them forever. I will do best in a home with adults only or older children, as I am pretty tall and bouncy and may knock younger kids over. I do not like cats, but I have met a few dog friends at the shelter. If you have dogs at home, you can bring them to the shelter to meet me and see if we get along!

Story
Our special girl, Twilight, has been waiting for her forever family for almost 2 years and we can’t wait for her to meet her match. She will be a fantastic family member. Here is what we would love to share about her!Hello, world! I’m Twilight and if I had to choose one world to describe me I would say FUN! I am looking for a forever family who will appreciate my energy and silly personality and, in turn, I will make them laugh every day! I am a huge toy enthusiast and I especially love to play tug-o-war. My favorite thing is to run and play outside and I think I might be the fastest zoomer to ever zoom. After I’ve played myself out, my second favorite thing is to snooze on a comfy couch or dog bed. I’ve learned “sit” and “shake” and I would love to keep learning more commands. I am so happy when I learn something new and hear that I’m a good girl. I enjoy my walks, but I do need to brush up on my leash walking skills. With treats and a bit of time, I’ll get it down! Young kids make me really nervous and I would be happiest in a child-free home. If you have any other dogs at home, bring them to the shelter to play and see if we hit it off. If you think you may be Twilight’s perfect match, please contact HSWM to learn more about her!

Story
Hazel is a 10 year old chocolate lab who is a lover. She was attacked while on a hike in the woods by another dog as a puppy and has since had aggressive behavior with other animals. She is fantastic with kids! We were recently told our son is severely allergic to dogs, which explained a lot of his medical issues. We were instructed by his doctor to rehome Hazel.

Story
I have had Biscuit since she was a puppy, we raised labs growing up and she is out of one of my mom’s litters. She doesn’t have papers but she is full bred. She is such a sweetheart, loves to play fetch and explore, very athletic and strong. She will need a good yard to play in! She is amazing around my kids and would do great with an active family. She has all shots except her rabies. The only reason we are rehoming her is because she keeps getting out of our fence (its not the best) and we live by a busy road so we are having to chain her just so we make sure she wont get hit by a car. As you know, that isn’t fair to her so we made the hard decision to find her a better home. We are not home enough to let her off the chain either. She does stay in with a 6ft fence, we just don’t have one.
