Story
Hello there everyone! My name is Connor, it is nice to meet you! I am a super active, energetic, and playful guy looking for his forever home! I absolutely love to play with toys and go exploring! Stuffed toys are my absolutely favorite, I love to sleep with my stuffies every night and cuddle with them! I absolutely love to play with other dogs, I have made many friends during my time here and we always have such a blast roughhousing! If you have any dogs at home I would love to meet them to see if we click! I also do really well with cats! Those little felines are just so cute, I can't help but love them! You should check out the 3rd picture on my profile, you can see me snuggling next a cat who was in the foster home I spent some time in!I have been here at the shelter for almost 3 years, and during that time I have grown to love all the staff here. I can sometimes be a bit mouthy when exploring something new, whether that it a new environment or a new person! I feel the world best that way. The staff here thinks I might be hard of hearing (Or I could just be selective, but I won't tell), so using my mouth to explore everything around me is how I live my life! Once I am able to taste everything around me and learn it is safe, I am perfectly content! Just spend some time with me and we will be the best of friends! (Hint: Treats and butt scratches are a great way to my heart!) After a long day of playing and going on adventures, I love nothing more than to lay on a couch and snooze the rest of the day away! I am still learning some manners, such as where it is OK to go to the bathroom and how to walk properly on a leash, but I am a fast learner and can't wait to learn from you! I would do best in a home with older children, just because I do have so much energy and would not want to knock any little ones over! If you are interested in meeting me, I am in the same boat! Please come by the shelter and say hello! If you think Connor would be a great match, please contact HSWM to learn more about him!

Story
Hi, I'm Kendra! My first interview question for my new person is: Do you have a car? I LOVE CARS! Car rides are my favorite thing in the world. Now that we have that out of the way, I'll tell you a bit about me! I'm a Belgian Malinois, which I believe translates to "too smart for my own good." I tend to think I am smarter than most dogs and most people too. I learn new skills very quickly and I love to have a challenge to keep my brain busy. I am an expert in "sit," "up," and "off" and new commands come pretty quickly to me, especially when treats are involved. I absolutely LOVE to play fetch with a basketball and I like to herd the ball around too! I am an older girl in number only, and I am not looking for a quiet retirement home to rest. Instead, I want a home where I can have mental stimulation, lots of exercise, and to be included in my new human's activities. Sometimes I get excited and pull when I'm out on walks, but with a little reminder or two I'm back to walking nicely. I love my caregivers at the shelter, and I know once I meet my person I will bond very quickly and love them forever. I will do best in a home with adults only or older children, as I am pretty tall and bouncy and may knock younger kids over. I do not like cats, but I have met a few dog friends at the shelter. If you have dogs at home, you can bring them to the shelter to meet me and see if we get along!

Story
Hello there! I go by Molly around here, and I am as sweet as apple pie! I have tons of energy and love to run and play! Snow is an absolute blast, probably my favorite season of all! I love to tuck my butt and do zoomies all over the snow! I love to play with toys too, hard toys are my favorite to chew on. I absolutely love getting loved on all over, though my hind legs can be sensitive sometimes. I love treats and know how to "sit" for them too! I promise to share the treats too, and I am a very eager learner so I would love to learn more tricks! I am a good walker too, but sometimes if I see other dogs, I get so excited I just want to go say hello and might end up pulling a bit, so I could use some training! I love making doggy friends too! I am much more inclined for the guys than the gals, and I have made some awesome friends here at the shelter! The crazier the better, I love being able to run laps and play with toys with others! I am very attached to my favorite people, and I definitely love being near them all the time! I would definitely love some crate training for when you are gone, that way I have a safe space all my own while I wait for you to come home! I would do best in a home with older children, as the little ones just make me a bit nervous. I have been at the shelter for a year and a half now, but that has not stopped me from loving on all the new volunteers I get to meet and living life! If you are interested in meeting me, I would very much love the same!If you think Molly might be a wonderful match for your family, please contact HSWM to learn more about her!

Story
Our special girl, Twilight, has been waiting for her forever family for almost 2 years and we can't wait for her to meet her match. She will be a fantastic family member. Here is what we would love to share about her!Hello, world! I'm Twilight and if I had to choose one world to describe me I would say FUN! I am looking for a forever family who will appreciate my energy and silly personality and, in turn, I will make them laugh every day! I am a huge toy enthusiast and I especially love to play tug-o-war. My favorite thing is to run and play outside and I think I might be the fastest zoomer to ever zoom. After I've played myself out, my second favorite thing is to snooze on a comfy couch or dog bed. I've learned "sit" and "shake" and I would love to keep learning more commands. I am so happy when I learn something new and hear that I'm a good girl. I enjoy my walks, but I do need to brush up on my leash walking skills. With treats and a bit of time, I'll get it down! Young kids make me really nervous and I would be happiest in a child-free home. If you have any other dogs at home, bring them to the shelter to play and see if we hit it off. If you think you may be Twilight's perfect match, please contact HSWM to learn more about her!

Story
Howdy everyone, my name is Patches! I am a major sweet guy who loves being around people! I get so excited when I see my two-legged friends! I absolutely love stuffed toys too, do you? I sure hope so! I love them so much, but sometimes it is ‘too' much and I rip them up, so lots of stuffies for me to play with would be absolutely awesome! I may be an old man, but I sure do not act like it! Many people who come see me think I am a young thing, but even though I am not, I can still match the young dog energy and run around playing like crazy! I am very gentle when it comes to taking treats, I even know how to "sit" for them too!I have met a few dogs here at the shelter, and even made a few friends! They have found their forever homes so it is now my turn! But goodness we always had such a blast running around and playing! I have enjoyed all the dogs I have met, but please bring your dogs by so we can meet too! I sometimes spend time up in the front office with the receptionists and get to greet everyone who comes in! I am always so happy to meet people. I would love to hit it off, what do you think? I think I would be a great family dog, because all I want is to be with my people! I hope to see you soon!If you think Patches may be a great fit for your family, please contact HSWM to learn more about him!

Story
Hello everyone! My name is Luna! I am a super sweet young girl ready to find my place in the world! I am a tad shy when it comes to meeting new people, so I will need plenty of time to get use to a new home, new friends, and a new life! With my big, soulful eyes and gentle demeanor, I'm the kind of dog that instantly melts hearts. Although I might be a bit shy at first, a little patience and kindness go a long way in helping me feel comfortable. Once I warm up, my affectionate nature shines through, and I love nothing more than snuggling up for some quality cuddle time. My goofy playful spirit and curiosity make me an endearing companion, and I'm always eager to explore the world at my own pace. This lovable pup is looking for a patient, loving home where she can blossom and thrive! If you are interested in meeting with Luna, please contact the Humane Society of the White Mountains!!
