Homer came to us as a stray with his friend Marge, so we don’t know much about his past — but one thing’s for sure, he’s ready for a loving new beginning.At first, Homer may be a little reserved while he checks out new people and surroundings, but once he warms up, his sweet, playful side shines through. He’s a smart boy who appears to be housetrained and doesn’t seem to be a big barker — always a nice bonus!Homer recently had surgery to correct entropion, a condition that caused his eyelids to roll inward and irritate his eyes. He’s healing beautifully and feeling so much more comfortable now — ready to see the world clearly and enjoy life to the fullest!He would do best in a home where he can continue to build confidence and get plenty of love, playtime, and guidance. If you have other dogs, a meet and greet is required to make sure everyone gets along. Ollie is a 5 year old mixed breed (we think he might be a kelpie) rescue from Skull Valley, AZ. He is a very very sweet boy when he’s alone, but after having our son and the addition of our second dog, he has become extremely anxious and has growled at our son a few times (from a distance) which makes us a bit nervous. We now keep the dogs separate from our son during the day. He would probably be best suited in a home without other dogs or kids. He is a very sweet boy, and he is extremely smart. While it would be heartbreaking to rehome him, our schedules are extremely busy and he deserves a home in which he gets the attention he deserves.

He came to the shelter after being left behind at a dog park, but despite his rough start, he remains gentle, affectionate, and hopeful for a family of his own.Cashew appears to be house trained, loves to play ball, and enjoys every bit of attention he can get. He has an incredibly endearing (and slightly dramatic!) sad little cry when he feels lonely—he just wants to be part of someone’s life.He absolutely loves people, but we don’t know yet how he does with other dogs or cats. Story

Charlie is a 4-year-old rescue mixed breed. He was rescued outside of Tolleson, AZ. He has all of his shots, and is regularly groomed (when he allows us lol). He is an extremely anxious dog, and after we had our son he became more anxious. He is a very very sweet boy, but he is a little wild and doesn’t know his own strength or how to gently give love. He needs a lot of attention that we just don’t have time to give with our busy schedules, and we truly want the best for him. While he is extremely sweet with our son, he’s just a little too wild and unpredictable and would probably be most comfortable in a home without kids.

Story

Shadow is a very sweet and friendly girl. She's almost 2 years old, 34 lbs. I rescued her from my neighbor who I had to report to Animal Control previously for neglect of her. They had her caged with spilled water most of the time and virtually no shelter. They did a bit better for a while but then put her back in the cage for long periods of time with no water again. I knew a big storm was coming with freezing nights & lots of rain & I had to save her. So asked him to give her to me. He agreed. I thought the Humane Society could find her a nice home as I am not in a position to take on another dog but they are full. I house and crate trained her, she is great with horses and good with my small, older dog. She cowers some from their abuse and they taught her basically nothing. So needs a patient hand, general training and love. She wants to please & is very gentle. Does OK on leash but needs training. Spayed and has rabies, 1st shot and 1st booster. 2nd in 2 weeks if still here.
