Story
Kita is an amazing cuddle buddy, still waiting for her forever home. She got to Border Paws in October 2023 with her brother Kingsley. Both were inseparable for a long time, however, after multiple months in the stressful shelter environment, Kingsley and Kita had to be separated. While he found his home very quickly, she is still enjoying the company of the shelter staff, however, we can guarantee that she would prefer a nice, loving home far more than the shelter. She is a very friendly dog, good with any kids. Kita is selective with other dogs, but has made and is making more and more canine friends within the shelter since Kingsley left. She will need a meet and greet with her potential brother or sister. She will not be good with cats, as she has a strong prey drive for such. She loves going on walks, having belly rubs, chewing on toys, and enjoying all the love she can get. She has mastered most Standard commands, like sit, place, stay, etc. We recommend taking her to obedience classes, as this will help her socialize and show her potential adopters that she wants to learn and please. She has already learned many commands like sit, stay, place, down, etc. She does have Allergies to chicken and grains.

Spayed or Neutered,
Story
Summit is currently our longest resident. He came to Border Paws in October 2023. He is a young boy full of energy. Summit can be selective with some dogs but seems to like the majority of other dogs we have at the shelter. Summit does not do well with cats at all. We do recommend families with older children or an adult-only home, as he can be a bit nippy. This can be easily corrected by taking him to classes or giving him the enrichment he needs. So far, he mastered sit, down, place, and stay, but he is definitely willing to learn as much as possible.

Spayed or Neutered,
Story
Chaplin is a young adult, having blood filled with pure energy, and has also been one of our longer residents coming into the shelter in December 2023. Because he's such a happy boy, he, unfortunately, had to get his tail removed, as his constant tail wagging quickly became an issue in his kennel and he got Happy Tail Syndrome. He is good with other dogs and has been to daycare at PuppyLuv for quite a while, however, as soon as he sees Tennis Balls, he will ignore any canine friend. He would not do good in a home with cats. He is good with kids and will make a perfect companion for an active family, which understands his need for physical exercise.

Spayed or Neutered,
Story
If you are looking for an energetic dog with a lot of promise in agility, Kyra is your girl. She can be a bit timid at first and likes to stay with the people she knows, but when she is comfortable, belly rubs are not gonna be a one-time thing. This lovable girl can scale pretty much anything and everything, backflips are a daily routine for her, hence why she will need a very secure fencing in her forever home or she will need to be leashed at all times. Kyra is not good with other dogs and will need a single dog home. She seems to be good with cats, but we definitely would suggest supervising any interactions between her and any feline siblings. She knows Sit, Down, Paw, Place and is also working on her Recall and leash manners. With the right tools and constant obedience training, she will be an amazing dog to do obedience and agility courses with.

Spayed or Neutered,
Story
Eden came in just before Christmas 2023, and what can we say? She was our Christmas present that year. She is one of the sweetest and funniest dogs in the shelter. She does need some time to get to like strangers, especially men, but once she has you in her heart, you won't be able to escape her. We do recommend an adult-only home or a home with older teenagers. She hasn't been tested with cats yet, but she LOVES to play with other dogs. She will most likely need to be crated as she will tire herself out to the point of passing out while playing with other dogs. She loves to chew on hard toys, splash in water, and take part in obedience classes. She knows all the basic commands like sit, down, place, and stay.

Spayed or Neutered,
Story
Wile E. is our wild-child-boy, who has one of the most lovable personalities. Wile loves to chew on toys, however they have to be very hardy, as he was able to disintegrate some of the toys, we thought, were very durable already. Another thing he loves is water. He loves to play and plunge in it. If he doesn't have a pool in his Kennel, he will do the same to his water dish and empty it faster than you can refill it. While he can be very selective with other dogs, however, he seems good with cats. We do suggest considering him only with older kids, as he can be mouthy sometimes. He knows Sit and Place, but with consistency and a loving home he will quickly learn other commands too.
