Story
Meet Haedam, a charming 1-2-year-old neutered male Jindo mix with a soft beige coat and a heart as warm as his fur! Weighing 10kg, this affectionate pup is an absolute sweetheart who adores people—whether they’re familiar faces or total strangers. Haedam is happy to receive pets, cuddles, and even kisses from just about anyone. He greets both men and women with equal enthusiasm, and while he hasn’t met young children under 13, we’re confident he’d make a wonderful friend to them as well. He’s so trusting that he’ll even let you scoop him up and carry him in your arms, belly rubs included!
Haedam is just as social with other dogs as he is with people. He eagerly approaches new canine friends with a wagging tail and an invitation to play—sometimes a little too eagerly! His persistent friendliness can be a bit much for shy or reserved dogs, so some introductions may need a bit of guidance. He gets along with dogs of all sizes and enjoys high-energy playmates, but if another dog challenges him, he won’t back down. For this reason, careful supervision is recommended during first-time meetings with unfamiliar dogs.
When it comes to small animals, Haedam is curious but not fixated. If he spots a cat on a walk, he might pause to observe, but he’s easy to redirect and follows his human’s lead without issue. A cat test can be arranged if needed.
Haedam has a moderate energy level—he loves outdoor activities but also knows how to relax once playtime is over. On walks, he’s generally well-behaved on a leash, though he has a habit of turning to make eye contact with his handler while walking, as if checking in. He might even do a little spin out of excitement when you meet his gaze! His strong bond with people suggests he may have had some off-leash experience in the past. Luckily, he’s not overly sensitive to sudden movements or loud noises, making him an easy walking companion, even for first-time dog owners.
Food-wise, Haedam has excellent manners with people and doesn’t guard his meals. However, he does get a little possessive around other dogs when it comes to his food bowl. While he won’t start fights, he may let out a small growl or engage in minor scuffles if another dog tries to take his meal. He occasionally barks when he wants something, but overall, he’s well-mannered. He’s crate-trained and settles down quietly, but car rides are a challenge—he drools excessively and experiences motion sickness. He primarily prefers to do his business outdoors and would thrive in both single-dog and multi-dog households.
Haedam’s journey to safety is just as special as he is. He was first spotted at a company in Gimpo, where he spent a weekend happily playing with the business owner’s dogs. Unfortunately, he was reported as a stray and ended up in a shelter, where he faced euthanasia after his 10-day holding period expired. Despite multiple pleas for help, no rescue groups were able to take him in—until AKR stepped in and gave him a second chance. Now, Haedam is ready to find his forever home, where he can share his boundless love and joyful spirit with the perfect family!
