No Out of Province Adoptions and Canada. No Adoptions outside our rescues adoption area will be accepted. Adoption Area: Edmonton, Saint Albert, Sherwood Park, Devon, Beaumont, Leduc, Spruce Grove and Stony Plain, Fort Saskatchewan, Morinville. Please email us at Heartprintsdogadoptions@gmail.com and request "All About Our Rescue document." Please introduce yourself, family and home environment when you email us at Heartprintsdogadoptions@gmail.com Adoptable Gigi Breed: Shih Tzu Weight: 6 lbs Age: 2 years old Approximately Sex: Spayed Female Energy level: Medium Cats: Not Tested Dogs: Loves other friendly small-breed dogs and ones to play with. Kids: Older children over the age of 10. Medical: Moisture Eyes Drops as needed. Please note that basic force-free dog obedience training classes are a mandatory requirement for adoption from Heart Prints Dog Rescue Society. These classes are not included in the adoption fee and must be completed before finalizing the adoption process. I am Gigi, a delightful spayed female Shih Tzu, approximately 2 years of age. I am currently seeking a compassionate and patient family who can understand and support my ongoing potty training journey. While I have not received formal training in this area, I am making progress with the assistance of Heart Prints Dog Rescue Society. I am gradually improving my use of pee pads and have demonstrated the ability to go potty outside when provided with a covered potty break area that protects me from the elements. During colder weather, I appreciate the comfort of puffer dog jackets to keep me warm. To ensure a successful transition, I kindly request that my potential adopters carry me outside and accompany me during potty breaks. I am eager to meet Joanna at For The Love of Paws Pet Services, where I can receive the necessary training to become a well-behaved companion. Please be advised that this training is a non-negotiable requirement for my adoption from Heart Prints Dog Rescue Society. I am crate trained for sleeping during the night or when you are away from the house. I require someone who understands the importance of daily eye cleaning to prevent eye infections, although I may not enjoy it, I tolerate it. I display excitement during mealtimes by dancing on my hind legs. However, I do bark, making me unsuitable for apartments, condos, or townhouses. I tend to bark when excited, playing, eating, or when my personal space is invaded by another dog. A busy household with constant people coming and going would not be an ideal environment for me. **Disclaimer: We only adopt to force free homes, the adoptive family must continue force free practices after adoption. We are volunteer based and although we would love to respond to all interested potential adopters we can only contact the homes we want to move forward with for an adoption.

Grooming: Nails every 6-8 weeks Bath and Tidy every couple of months full groom every 3-4 months. I have undergone crate training for sleeping during nighttime or when you are away from home. Currently, I am experiencing the puppy stage, which has resulted in certain previously non-frightening things becoming sources of fear. Although I may bark within my crate, I eventually settle down once I recognize that it is bedtime. In the event that I am vocalizing loudly and pawing at the crate door, it is imperative that you let me outside immediately as I have an urgent need to relieve myself. I will promptly attend to my pottying needs outdoors. I require a variety of suitable chew toys, enrichment treats such as lick mats, and treat balls, among other things. I have a history of chewing on inappropriate items because I am a puppy and still learning. This is where Joanna from For The Love Of Paws Pet Services comes in to assist me and my new family. I am a very affectionate puppy who enjoys giving kisses and cuddling with you on the couch or a chair while watching TV. I enjoy playing fetch and chewing on my toys. I am not a suitable pet for apartments, condominiums, or townhouses due to my vocal nature. I require a home with a yard where I can play and run freely. **Disclaimer: We only adopt to force free homes, the adoptive family must continue force free practices after adoption. We are volunteer based and although we would love to respond to all the applications, we can only contact the homes we want to move forward with.
