Please ask about their reduced adoption fee and the possibility of a sleepover!**Mr. Worldwide has completed one of our training courses and is now a certified Smarty Pup! To support his new family going forward, Mr. Worldwide will also receive 3 complimentary consults with our behavior team following adoption along with three bags of food courtesy of Homes Alive Pets!Age: 2 yearsWeight: 32.5kg / 71.7lbsA bit about Mr. Worldwide:- Unknown history with cats. All introductions should be slow and supervised.- Only dog in home due to poor dog-dog social skills; potential for dog friends in future- Unknown history with children. All introductions should be slow and supervised.- May do well as a rural placement, but not required. Our goofy pittie mix Mr. Worldwide was found as a stray outside Calgary city limits back in April. Since then, this silly dude has spent almost 10 months in our care! Mr. Worldwide is an active, high energy boy who loves to hike, explore and even roller skate (well, he runs -you skate)! Although he may not look it, his love of the outdoors also means he’d make a great farm or acreage dog. He’d love to go on an all day adventure with you, or just chill and smell the breeze while you work outside. Our boy has really struggled with kennel stress at CHS, but with the hard work and support of our animal care and behaviour teams, we’ve learned that a combination of fun walks and outdoor adventures, as well as a variety of puzzle feeders and other mental enrichment toys helps him get the wiggles out. After so long in shelter, Mr. W will need some time to relax, adjust to his new digs and learn about life at your place. Consistent routines, and shorter absences will help the transition go smoothly. He also comes with 3 complimentary private consults to help you set off on the right paw together.Shelter staff and volunteers say this boy is, “one of my favourites to visit”, “greets you sweetly at the door”, and “loves belly scratches”. Bella Bo Ella is available through our `Adopt From a Foster Home` program. If you are interested in scheduling a meeting, please fill out the request form here: Adopt From Foster Form. Please do not make an appointment through our online booking calendar, as they are not available to meet on site.**Bella Bo-Ella is a Patient Paw, who has been available for adoption since September 3, 2024. Please ask about their reduced adoption fee and the possibility of a sleepover!**A little bit about Bella Bo-Ella :- Kids okay; has previously lived with children. All interactions must be supervised by an adult.- No cats in home due to high prey drive and history of chasing cats- Dogs okay pending successful introductionsSweet and spirited Bella Bo Ella first came into our care back in September, at only 6 months old, after the older dog in her home struggled to accept Bella`s high energy attempts at play. Bella hasn`t slowed down since then, so an active home with the ability to offer a variety of physical and mental enrichment would be a perfect fit for this `energizer-doggo`! Bella adores canine playtime, and is mostly good at sharing, but she is still learning about the polite way to respond if another pup says `no` to playtime. Luckily, in Bella`s foster home, she has a best friend her age to get the wiggles out with, and a senior dog who is helping her learn more about polite dog interactions. Bella can easily grow over-excited during playtime, so she is looking for a home that is comfortable monitoring playtime, and using positive reinforcement techniques to help Bella take a break when needed. Bella thinks cats are intended for epic games of chase; due to this prey drive she is seeking a home with no cats or other small, free roaming animals. Bella is an absolute cuddle bug who loves her people and will bask in all the attention she can get! She loves to be right next to her humans at all times, and would be more than content to lay on the couch with a movie going or walking around the neighbourhood happily taking treats for her good behaviour. If you have an active and affectionate household who can keep up with Bella`s zest for life, come meet this sweet lady today!

**Stevie is a Patient Paw, please ask about her reduced adoption fee and the possibility of a sleepover!**Age: 4 years oldWeight: 37.9kg / 84lbA little bit about Stevie :- Limited history with children; children should be teens and up- Unknown history with cats and other small animals; all introductions should be done slowly over a period of time- Some history of living with dog; selectively dog reactive. Potential for dog in home pending successful Dog-to-Dog introductions but is mostly dog asocialStevie’s journey hasn’t been the easiest, but we know her perfect forever home is out there. Recently adopted, she sadly found herself back at the shelter—through no fault of her own. Sometimes, life takes unexpected turns, but we’re determined to make sure her third adoption is her last. It’s impossible not to fall in love with Stevie. She has the most soulful eyes, and she knows just how to use them to melt hearts, earn extra pets, and maybe even sneak a treat or two. However, she’s carrying a little extra weight and will need a gradual weight loss plan overseen by a vet. Luckily, she loves her walks just as much as she loves snuggling up on the couch afterward.Stevie has lived with another dog before but has shown some selective reactivity, so she may do best as the only dog in her home. On walks, she’s well-mannered when passing other dogs but prefers not to make new canine friends. She has also shown some prey drive, so careful introductions would be needed with cats or small animals.Stevie has stolen the hearts of everyone at the shelter, and we know she’ll steal yours too. Will you be the one to give this incredible girl the forever home she’s been waiting for?

Delia will receive a free session of Reactive Rover with adoption!**Delia is a Patient Paw, please ask about their reduced adoption fee and the possibility of a sleepover!**Age: 2 yearsWeight: 23.5 kg / 51.8 lbsA little bit about Delia: - children okay, older recommended due to lack of manners - cats / small animals unknown; introductions should be slow and supervised over multiple sessions - only dog in home, due to demonstrated dog reactivityWagging her way into your heart and hopefully home, say hello to Delia! She`s a friendly and outgoing dog who loves to meet everyone but still jumps up to say hello. That`s why the ideal family for her would be without little kids and have an abundance of patience to help teach her proper doggy manners. Delia is also a pretty energetic gal and would love going on lots of adventures, hikes, you name it! Just remember that mental enrichment is just as important as physical enrichment, so make sure to offer lots of interactive toys and puzzle feeders, too! This slightly mischievous, toy-loving girl, will be happy to help you sniff out any toys or treats you may have lost in your home. Delia is more of a people pooch and is looking for a home without dogs, but she has potential to co-exist with cats if there are slow, supervised introductions. That`s all for Delia, but if you want to learn more, then make an appointment or come say hello today!

Please do not make an appointment through our online booking calendar, as they are not available to meet on site.**Mack is a Patient Paw, please ask about his reduced adoption fee and the possibility of a sleepover!*Age: 2 yearsWeight: 54.5 kg / 120 lbsA bit about Mack:- older children okay (no small children)- no cats or small animals (history of prey drive)- select dogs okay pending successful introMack is a gentle giant with a heart as big as his massive frame. Despite his imposing size, he is the most loveable and affectionate dog you could ever meet. His sheer size often surprises people, but Mack doesn’t seem to realize just how large he is—he`ll happily attempt to curl up on your lap or snuggle up beside you, always eager for attention and love. Whether he’s wagging his tail or looking up at you with his soulful eyes, Mack is always happiest when he has a human to cuddle. When Mack isn`t cuddling or napping he likes to keep busy. He especially enjoys destructive chewing, so he`d thrive in a home with lots of fun chew and enrichment toys. Mack is old enough to appreciate the benefits of a good nap, and generally spends his days snoozing on the couch while his foster humans are at work and school. Once everyone comes home, Mack eagerly greets everyone for cuddles and playtime! The biggest hearts truly come in the biggest packages - come meet Mack!!

Please do not make an appointment through our online booking calendar, as they are not available to meet on site.**Maximus is a Patient Paw, please ask about their reduced adoption fee and the possibility of a sleepover!**Age: 8 yearsWeight: 22.4 kg / 49 lbA bit about Maximus:- no children in home- no cats in home- only dog in home- potential for separation related stressMeet the sweet senior whose foster family have described him as energetic, snuggly, dorky and a `dream dog` people pleaser! Max can take time to warm up to new people, and feels safer with adults who can greet him calmly and respect his space. Once he trusts you and feels safe he is happy to cuddle, show off his epic wiggle bum, take you on hikes, and make your friends his friends! Maximus has previously struggled with being left alone, so he`s looking for a home that can help him work on that. For now, full work-day absences are too long for Max! Max has demonstrated stress and discomfort around other animals, so he will best thrive as the only pet in his home. He`s still sure to bring more than enough love, with his goofy grin, snuggles and love of tug of war! While it may take Max some time to adjust, our behavioural team will be here to support you both. Don`t wait - email about this sweetheart today!
