Story
My name is Jasper, I am a beautiful bully mix roughly 6 years old. I have had some food sensitivities and my skin was a little bit itchy, but since I’ve been eating a fish based dog food I’m thriving! I am a healthy, happy and friendly boy, and loving life. I am fun and silly. I like to chase my tail, play tug, go for car rides, and chewing on stuffies! I will definitely destroy the stuffies if they squeak, it’s a must! I also like sleeping on your bed or curled up beside you on the couch. I love all people and I’m good with kids too. I’m not so good with the kitties so a home without them would be best. I get along with most dogs but prefer to have my people all to myself. If I was the only pet in a home, I would think that is perfect. I am good on leash and like going on walks. I know all the commands well and pay attention to my people. If you think Jasper would be a good fit for your family, please fill out the adoption application.

Story
Spike has a story with us and we’d like to share it with you . Spike is a two year old Husky mix . He came from the Northwest Territories SPCA when he was 8 weeks old. He was a happy friendly puppy who loved the female dog, cat and kids in his foster home . He was adopted as a puppy and then abandoned , dropped at the neighbours when he was 7 months old . She only realized he had been a rescue pup from his microchip when she took him to the vet . He had a limp and she contacted us saying she cared for him but he was too puppy for an older lady. We brought him back into care and we realized that he would periodically limp . The vets said he was born with a shorter back leg , and it was accommodating his active lifestyle but starting to cause him consistent pain. He would need to be on pain medication or have it amputated for better quality of life . A couple months ago BARS decided to give him a pain free , active , happy life and amputate his short leg . It was a tough few days after surgery but he healed up amazingly. He is running , playing and back to his best self . Spike is ready for a family to love him forever . If Spike could speak he would ask for lots of outside space , a safe place to sleep at night . Cats , cats and more cats , as he absolutely loves them and protects them . He is good with female dogs after proper introductions but hasn’t had much luck sharing a home with another male . Spike loves toys and can carry multiple toys in his mouth at once . He is a smart , funny and vibrant character that will add so much love and excitement to your home. Please consider meeting Spike , we know his forever home is out there somewhere! If you would like to meet Spike, please fill out the adoption application.

Story
Hi I’m Sharpie and I am a 2 year old Blue Pitbull /Mastiff / Border Collie X. I am extremely athletic/playful and would like to find a family who can continue to take me for long walks/hikes in nature like my foster dad does! I am super rowdy in the morning and prefer to gobble up my breakfast before going outside to run around in the yard and do my business. I know how to sit, lie down, shake a paw, wait for my food and treats and am house and crate trained. I am so excited to be outside and explore, and I am learning to not pull on my leash so much - this is a work in progress and my new family will need to continue my training with this. Even though I grew up near the Whitemud creek and have enjoyed the off leash area since I was two months old, I have had some tricky experiences with bossy dogs and so I`m not really comfortable playing with other dogs I don`t know.. Since I was neutered though, I am doing much better with my confidence and with slow introductions I do well. As my foster Dad has a dog whom I love, I am sure I can become sociable and comfortable with new dogs again! I do enjoy downtime with some cuddles if you don’t mind sharing your pillow, and I`m a super sweet and loyal guy!Approx age: 2 yearsBreed: Blue Pitbull /Mastiff/ Border Collie crossEnergy level: highGood with dogs: not quiteGood with Cats: met them and I’m curious but not aggressive Good with kids: yes but would recommend older kids

Story
Hi, I’m Steveo!Approximate age: 2 yearBreed: MixedEnergy Level: Medium high Good with Kids: I’m still young and high energy so older kids would be bestGood with Dogs: Need proper introduction. Prefer females.Good with Cats: No. Not really a fan. Love my rabbit buddy thoughHey im Steveo! I`m a sweet, playful, smart, and cuddly guy. I love people, they`re my favorite! I also love car rides, they are the best! And toys, oh, how I love toys! They keep me entertained for hours. But the crate? Nah. I mean, I can go in if necessary but it`s not my thing. I prefer to be out and about, exploring and playing. I`m a good boy sleeping on my bed. I do love to run and play so would do best in a fenced yard.I`m also smart, you know. I can learn new tricks quickly, and I`m always eager to please. Other dogs? I have been okay with females but not a fan of the other boys. Cats? Hard to say. I met one at the vet who I wanted to chase but I am good friends with the rabbit in my home. Really, I`m all about the people. I`m looking for a family who will love me as much as I will love them. I promise to be the best friend you`ve ever had. Adopt me, and let`s start our adventure together! If you would like to meet me and give me a chance . Please fill out the adoption application!
