Story
Diesel is a Siberian husky Great Pyrenees mix, I’ve had him for 6 years, he loves walks and is fairly well trained, he’s a quiet dog but is occasionally verbal. He was abused as a puppy till about 7months, he was amazing around other animals and children till about mid 2023 where he started showing signs of aggression towards other animals and children. He is well behaved when he is an only animal, I currently live with my mother who has two small dogs and I have a cat that he does not mind at all but with new animals or unfamiliar animals/people he is aggressive only when provoked ie. children touching him when he is giving verbal and visual body language signs to not be touched and or in his personal space like face to face or unwanted attention. Due to not being able to keep him in the household we have moved to I need to rehome him, I want to try and maintain a relationship with him if possible but if I cant rehome him I will have to euthanize him by November 20th-25th

Story
Thank you for your interest in Maverick. Some dogs are born unlucky. In a barn. With little to no access to humans. Certainly without love in their lives. Most are born to Moms who are terrified of humans since all the humans ever do to them is shave them and give them shots. The environment is not clean. So how Maverick can be so loving and sweet is a true testament to his character. Maverick was sold at auction to the highest bidder. The seller didn't care where he ended up and only cared about the money. That is the harsh fact of commercial dog breeding. Thankfully Maverick landed with a lovely owner and so, a few days after the auction, very late at night, Maverick arrived. The owner quickly realised that they were not equipped to give Maverick what he needed and they called to ask if we could help. How could we say no? And that's how Maverick came to us and we're so glad he did. You see, shortly after coming into our care Maverick popped his shoulder out of the socket. It wasn't a big accident that caused this to happen, it was just more bad luck. Off to the vet we went and there we were able to reassure Maverick that really, it wasn't so bad, because he was going to get the best care possible. His leg and shoulder were wrapped so he couldn't use that leg and it could heal. Several weeks later the wrap came off and the vet put hobbles on him. This would allow his good shoulder and leg to help the weaker side. Soon the hobble will come off and Maverick should be good as new! Through it all, Maverick has been the best boy!

Story
Hi, I’m Atilla (but you can call me Tilly!) I’ve been waiting a while for my forever family, and I think it’s finally time we meet! I’m a 2-year-old, neutered Doberman, and at 85 lbs, I’ve got a big heart full of love just waiting to be shared. I’ve been told I’m pretty handsome too—just wait until you see me! Now, let me tell you a bit about myself. I’m one smart cookie! I’ve learned my basic commands, and I’ve even dabbled in scent work and button training. Lately, I’ve been working on putting my toys away after playtime (I think I deserve extra treats for that one, don’t you?). I also enjoy canicross—if you’re looking for a jogging buddy, I’m working on being your perfect match! I love using my brain, and I’m always up for learning new things, so I hope my future family enjoys training and fun activities. Don’t let my active side fool you—I’ve got a soft, snuggly side too. Once I’ve had my playtime and exercise, I’m all about the cuddles. I love being close to my people and will happily curl up beside you for some cozy downtime. I am currently free-roaming when my foster Mum isn't home and that's worked for us - the crate gives me some anxiety, but I'm a very good boy on the couch.   I do have a few things I’m working on, though. I take prozac because I’m reactive to other dogs, and sometimes I get a little too excited on walks. So, I’d love a home with a fenced yard where I can run and play safely without having to worry about other dogs. Because of my reactivity, I need to be the only pet in the house, and I’d prefer a home without young children. I know I’ll thrive in a calm, predictable environment where I can be the center of attention—just me and my people.I’ve been waiting for over a year to find my perfect match, and I know my special family is out there. If you’re looking for a loyal, clever, and loving companion, I’m ready to fill that role and more. Could you be the one to give me the forever home I’ve been dreaming of? I'll be waiting to hear from you! With love (and a few tricks up my paw),  Tilly. Atilla has been neutered, microchipped, and vaccinated. His adoption fee is $500. All adopters must agree not to use any punitive training methods including, but not limited to, leash corrections, pinning, alpha rolls, etc. Apply to adopt Atilla by submitting our adoption application at https://adoptadobe.com/adoption-application/. All adoptions require a home visit prior to finalization. Donate to Atilla’s care at https://adoptadobe.com/donate/. ##1831339##

Story
Beautiful husky girl Chiquita, born April 2023, is looking for a home. She is approximately 41 lbs. Her mum and littermates were often seen wandering in the area of the SPCA PV sanctuary and staff and volunteers saw them in deteriorating condition due to a diet heavy on garbage and took them in to give them the care they needed. After she got refuge in the sanctuary, she lived through a hurricane which heavily damaged the shelter, and she had temporary refuge in a home that unfortunately had a landlord that didn't allow dogs.. but in that time, she learned what a home is and what it is meant to be loved. Chiquita is an energetic girl so she’d love a yard with some space to burn off some zoomies but was in a foster home in an apartment. She loves the beach. Her foster mom just loved her, described her as a fast learner, and a great cuddler. She has learned basic commands - sit, come, waits to eat her food. She isn't destructive in the home and did well in the car. She is selective with other dogs, and can be reactive, and would squabble with her siblings. Kids make her nervous so she'd prefer a quiet adult home where she can learn more about the world. Chiquita would be best in a home without cats as she shows high prey drive. Video of Chiquita with her shelter friends: https://www.facebook.com/spcapv/videos/1401202434079126 She is now healthy and vaccinated. If you think you might be her happy home, please contact us at pvcaadoptions@gmail.com for more information. Chiquita is currently in Mexico but would love to join her forever home in Canada
