Story
Bear (A136197) is a 1-year-and-3-month-old GSD x Lab mix who weighed 38.2 pounds on intake!04/21/25 Bear was surrendered back to the shelter with his friend Blaire because their owner felt they could no longer care for them. Bear has been very reserved since being back at the shelter and is looking for an owner who can be patient with him and help rebuild his trust. He was said to be friendly with strangers but can be very shy at first. Bear was also said to be very playful with other dogs but does have a rough style of play. Please ensure you are making appropriate introductions with new animals. Bear was also known to love chewing on his toys! He may need some continued help when it comes to potty training, as he was still known to have accidents (especially on car rides). If you are interested in meeting Bear, please let us know! 10/08/24 This handsome young guy is Bear! Bear was surrendered to the shelter because he was too much for his owner to handle with the other dogs in the home. He is a young, strong, rambunctious pup looking for an owner who will have the time and energy to devote to his care and training. He would benefit from working with a certified trainer to continue improving his manners. Bear was said to be kennel trained but is not fully housebroken. He is a smart boy so with a little work and patience he should have it mastered in no time! Bear was said to be friendly towards children, strangers, and adults. However, he has never lived with children so please ensure you are making appropriate introductions and supervising interactions. Bear was also said to do well with the other dogs in the home but can be disgruntled about sharing his space during feeding time. It has never escalated to him fighting with the other dogs, but his prior owner did not that he sometimes becomes stiff if they walk past him while eating. He was said to have no issues with people around his food. If you do plan on introducing him to new potential animal friends please ensure you do so in a slow, safe, and controlled environment. Bear was said to love playing with his toys and has a gentle play style. However, he still does jump up on people out of excitement. If you are interested in meeting Bear and think that he could be the pup for you, please let us know! April 21, 2025, 9:25 pm

Story
Delta (A137038) is an 3-year-old Alaskan husky who weighed almost 50 lbs at intake!12/28/24 This ragtag little team of huskies was brought to the shelter because their previous musher did not feel they had the endurance for the longer races they wanted to do. Jim Jim, Charlie, Alphie, Delta, Zulu, Oscar and Whiskey have only ever lived as outside dogs, so it may take them a little time to adjust to indoor life, including potty training. All seven of these dogs were a little uncomfortable walking on tile floor when they arrived at the shelter, so they are also hoping their next homes will be patient in helping them learn the ropes of indoor life. Although they were booted from their last team, they still have a lot of energy and may just need a recreational musher or one who does shorter races. Jim Jim was said to have been a great leader in the past. If you are interested in meeting any of these happy sled dogs, please give the shelter a call!April 25, 2025, 12:56 am

Luvie (A137471) is a 10-year-old pointer mix who weighed nearly 60 lbs at inake!02/22/25 This sweet older gal is Luvie! Luvie arrived at the shelter after her owner's health declined and they were not able to provide her with the level of care she needs. Luvie can be quite strong on the leash. She is hoping to find another home without any other dogs. Luvie was said to do well with other dogs when out on a walk or when she was waiting at the vet, but she does not like to share her home with them. Luvie has never been around other animals, so please use caution if you have cats or other critters in your home and are looking to adopt Luvie. Luvie was said to be housebroken and was described as being friendly and affectionate. She is used to roaming a fenced in yard when outside. Luvie arrived at the shelter with a broken tooth, so she was sent out for a dental, courtesy of our amazing Shelter Fund! Story
Rogue (A137440) is a 3-year-old husky mix who weighed nearly 50 lbs at intake!Foster update: Rogue did great in foster and enjoyed having a break from the shelter! His foster stated he did great out on a doghouse and loved going on runs! If you are interested in meeting Rogue, please let us know! 02/08/25 This handsome fellow is Rogue! Rogue arrived at the shelter via the after hours emergency kennels, and his previous owner neglected to leave their contact information, requiring us to hold him for a 3-business day stray hold. Unfortunately, this means Rogue has had to stay at the shelter longer than necessary before he could be made available for adoption. However, it also means we have gotten to know this goofy boy a little better. His previous owner also neglected to fill out much information on him. We know that he is a sled dog and that he was considered too slow for the team he was previously on and that he ran in a team dog position. We have learned that he likes to talk, and he demands pets! Rogue will woo-woo at you and boop you with his snoot if you are not petting him. He does not seem to have any ill will toward his canine neighbors in our dog yard. He politely let them sniff him from afar before offering his rump for closer inspection when he first arrived. We do not know how Rogue feels about cats or other animals, so please use caution if planning to introduce him to any. We also do not know Rogue's history with being an indoor dog. He may need some help in getting use to potty training and couch life. If you are interested in meeting this outgoing, sweet boy, please give us a call!April 8, 2025, 10:29 pm

Story
Molly (A109113) is a 10-year-old Labrador Retriever who weighed 50.4 pounds on intake! 04/21/25 This sweet old lady is Molly! Molly might be a senior in age, but sheâ&#194&#128&#194&#153s a youngster at heart! Molly is looking for a new loving home to spend out the remainder of her senior years. She was very loved in her last home, but they could no longer care for her and only wanted the best for her (which they felt they could no longer provide). At the shelter, she has had an outgoing and friendly spirit. Her owner did state that she can be initially timid with strangers, but once she has met you her tail never stops wagging! Molly was said to absolutely LOVE children and to be a pro cuddler! Her prior owner noted that she was housebroken and will bark at the door when she needs to go outside. Molly is older and was said to be a little stiff when it comes to walking up stairs. We encourage her next owner to discuss with their vet on ways to help keep her comfortable as she continues aging. However, Molly still wants to go outside on adventures and was known to like to take herself on walks if given the opportunity. She has previously dug out of fenced in yards so she should be supervised when outside in a fenced area or kept on a leash. Her prior owner also noted that Molly can be afraid of riding in tall vehicles (like trucks) but enjoys sticking her head out of shorter vehicles. Such a character! At the shelter we have found that her eyesight might not be the best and she can be snatchy when it comes to treats. Fingers beware! If you feel that your home could be the perfect retirement home for this wonderful lady, please let us know! April 23, 2025, 3:59 pm
