Story
Hello, trying to find someone to take a dog. Her name is Artemis she is a Rottweiler Lab mix that weighs around 30 lbs and is roughly 6 months old. She is currently up to date on all vaccinations and has no known medical issues. She is extremely friendly towards people and other animals including cats. My girlfriend and I initially discovered her when she was around 2 months old she was outside being attacked by a much larger dog and luckily we were able to get the other dog away from her without her being injured. We were unable to locate her owners so we just took care of her for the past couple of months. Unfortunately I am having to move, due to the nature of my job. Our situations puts us in the unfortunate position of not being able to bring any pets with us. We have tried to find people to adopt her but unfortunately everyone who has shown interest in adopting her has changed their minds last minute and now we are out of time and need to find her a home immediately.

Story
Had to move on short notice and new apartment doesn’t allow dogs. She was being fostered at a friends but they have become unable to keep her. She’s a very kind and sweet lovable lazy doggo. She gets along well most dogs I’ve had her around. Is good with kids but some adults tend to make her skittish at first.

Story
There's so much to love about Baby! She's affectionate, athletic, curious, friendly, and funny. She loves to play, but she's also gentle when it comes to interacting with people. Her zoomies could out pace a race dog, but she never goes far from her person. Baby is a bit shy of strangers but once you tell her they're ok, she relaxes. Baby also has a sister who was just recently found. Her sister isn't ready for adoption just yet, but they're both amazing dogs and so cute together. They're ok to be separated, but if you'd like twin hounds let us know in your application! Baby is up to date on vaccines and spayed. Apply here: https://forms.gle/jkUgtsdFEbcjYbVcA Located in Alabama but can be transported.

Story
This very special boy is Ned. He is half Golden Retriever and quarter Border Collie the other quarter is unknown. Ned is the most gentle dog I have ever met - genuinely. He so sweet but very cautious. He has always been skittish but he is quick to love. Ned is a couch potato and loves to just be in the seat next to you with good pets. He does love his play time, but eating and chilling are his favorite hobbies. He is so good at supporting and comforting people too. He never fails to lick the tears off my face. Ned does have some strange quirks, though. He *thrives* in a structured and routine environment. Anything that is out of place alerts him for a while until he is used its new place. I wish I could keep him but I truely believe that Ned's life would be better with someone who could give him better structure. Mine and my husband's life cannot give him what he needs right now, unfortunately. Ned would be such a warm and cuddly addition to your home! <3

Story
Nova was a gift for my grandbabies but unfortunately my daughter wasn't aware of the work and time a puppy takes much less a very energetic shepsky. She's sweet and super playful. Nova is around 6/7 months old and loves to play fetch with her balls. She is completely crate trained and has always been a inside pup but we are still working on getting her house trained.

Story
Silly is a Chiweenie that came from a severe hoarding situation. Poor Silly didn't even have a name until we rescued him and one of our teenage volunteers gave him his name, Silly loves to play and be loved on. Silly can be reactive if not given time to adjust to new people. For that reason we are saying he needs to go to an experienced home where he can learn and thrive. Silly is really good with teenagers but has never met a small child. Silly is good with dogs as long as they don't come on with aggression. Silly is UTD on shots and is neutered. With time, love and some patience, Silly will be a wonderful addition to any family. If you would like to know more about this little guy, please email us and we will send you an application. Thanks for choosing rescue! 2nd Chance Animal Sanctuary is a 501(c)3 Non-profit rescue organization. All of our animals come fully vetted which includes vaccinations, spay/neuter as well as Heartworm and flea/tick prevention. We can also arrange transportation to your location within 500 miles of our sanctuary in Hayden, Alabama if necessary. The additional charge of $35 (health certificate required for out of state travel) plus a .50 cents per mile charge to your location. This will be calculated on an individual basis should you need this option and you will be given the total prior to finalization of the adoption process. There is a Non-Refundable $100.00 deposit that will be required in order to secure a place on a transport. The $100.00 deposit will be deducted from the balance owed at the time of the adoption.
